    They never give release dates before issues go live.

    Issue 13 is still in closed beta, it may hit open beta next week, and could go live around end of Nov or early Dec.
  2. Afaik the Valkirie costume isn't being given to beta testers, it's only for people who buy the Mac version.

    Just about every published edition of CoX has come with it's own "special features".

    CoX Delux: VIP badge, cape, Pretige power slide
    CoV Collectors: Arachnos logo, cape
    GvE edition: Jump Pack, Pocket D TP, Justice and Sinister costumes
    Korean edition, and another edition, only released in the US: 30 rocket pack
    GvE Mac edition: Mission TP, Valkirie costume

    I think you will find that is because they are part of issue 13 - which hasn't been released yet.

    Which lasts 30 days, or you can pick up a functionaly identical pack for nothing at level 5. Takes less than 2 hours of play on a new character. The only reason to take it is because you like the way it looks, and the only reason it was made available is because players asked (nay, demended) it.

    The devs know that anything that unbalanced the game in such a way would loose them subscribers. Therefore, as I said, you question is "What would happen if the devs all simultaniously went insane?"

    It's a pointless question, since the devs wouldn't add a power that would unbalance combat. Take the self distruct power. This doesn't really have a significant effect on gameplay because of it's extremly long recharge time. Anything else they added would be balanced by similar downside.


    It would be as meaningful to ask "would you continue to play if all the dev went insane and coverted all the villain mobs into pink fluffy bunnies". It's something that simply isn't going to happen, so it is stupid to get in a flap over it.

    I'm wondering if Against All Odds might use the new diminishing returns code from new PvP.

    Doesn't matter. If you/I feel it is a waste of money we don't have to buy it, and we can be happy that someone else will, and they are subsidising our game.

    In 25 years we have gone from magnetic tape, to 5 3/4" floppies, to 3 1/2" floppies, to CD to DVD. That's an avarage of a new format every 5 years, and we have been on DVDs for a few years now.

    Thing about the mission TPer, and this isn't clear, technically, its easier to have it TP you into the mission, rather than to the mission door.

    I expect it has a longish recharge timer anyway.

  13. The TP suppression has nothing to do with griefing.

    Running Nightfall (or any othe power) is not griefing. If it causes you problems, you are trying to run the game with your graphics settings to high.

    Quite easily. PB has as much, if not more KB and hold as WS. They don't have the immob, and thier stun is not as good. However single target melee damage is better, so they can kill quickly.

    Light Form. Self healing that doesn't depend on the proximity of mobs to work. +max hp, which can be used in conjunction with nova and dwarf form.

    Overall, WS are better damage dealers, but PBs are more durable.
  15. It makes far more sense that this was the original intent, and the wording of the earlier day job article was misleading.
  16. One thing appears clarified here: what he says strongly implies you are only "On Patrol" if you aren't logged out in a location that qualifies for a different job. So if DXP is tied directly to "On Patrol" status, it should be avoidable.

    I wonder how they are going to handle "faction only" missions in co-op zones then? If a villain player has Ghost Sybil mission 1 (mission door in Cimerora), then teams wih a hero player in zone, will the hero player be auto-kicked for the team the instant that becomes the active mission? Or will they just be unable to enter the door?

    Personally, I would have liked to see a direct link between co-op zones, so mixed teams could travel form one to the other without disbanding.
  18. The NPCs have a walk animation. However, the NPCs are all the same hight, and don't use combat animations.
  19. CJ also takes def sets, and travel sets, and therefore takes a +stealth IO. And it costs virtually nothing to run.

    All in all, its a mutch better choice, unless you are desperate to avoid SJ and Acro.
  20. Midnight Club and RWZ doesn't need any such mechanism to prevent heroes and villains entering the wrong zone.

    I assume the new PvP travel power supression doesn't interupt, and blocks TP, so the original suggestion aught to be possible.

  22. It's nothing to do with griefing. It's so you can't TP into the Tiki bar without a VIP Gold Card.

  24. I't may well be true. This power summons several pesudo-pets. One of which generates the damage, as an aura. This should cause any procs from a damage set to fire every 10 seconds, as is normal.

    However, the hold is generated by additional pesudopets, that appear to be summoned every 10 seconds, and last for 15 seconds (so you will often have several active together). The hold is a click power firing every 6 seconds, and the proc (from a hold set) could potentially trigger each time.
  25. Missed the to hit debuff. That is certainly worth having and enhancing. I would stuff the fear though!
