One thing appears clarified here: what he says strongly implies you are only "On Patrol" if you aren't logged out in a location that qualifies for a different job. So if DXP is tied directly to "On Patrol" status, it should be avoidable.

I'd say he says its in a location that doesn't have a day job.

I hope so too. Sorting my badges by 'earned' and 'in progress' would help. A percentage would be nice, too (rather than just a bar) - but I suppose that's just never going to happen.

Makes me wonder if it was changed though. On the feature about day jobs etc it says:-

On Patrol

In addition to all of the Day Jobs every character is "On Patrol" after they log out of the game.

And now its On patrol is the default Day Job for players who don’t log out from one of the specific Day Job locations.

Brilliant change though.

It makes far more sense that this was the original intent, and the wording of the earlier day job article was misleading.

One hopes they add numbers as well. all is good making them specific but not if we still cant tell the number needed

Well, they sort of have a tool like that already - the salvage rack logs can keep track of times added or withdrawn, so it might be able to be adapted to show time and date for each badge.
