I understand a hatred towards DR, as it really does monkeywrench a lot of builds, but it does give the Powers team a lot more flexibility in what they are allowed to create.

pretty sure it's perma but with diminishing returns over time. starts at 36 and decreases down to 3 by the end of the duration. but still perma which is good enough.

    PvP boot camp

thinking about starting a similar thing to the boot camp they do on virtue. it probably wouldn't be a srsbsnz as their is(because it's me running it, and it'd be people from triumph so...yea) but just seeing if we were to infact run something like this, if anyone would come.
  5. it changed. not for the better. there is a big lack of diversity and i13 blah blah killed pvp. its worse now than before. if you really wanna know, have a look up at the open letter to the devs sticky'd at the top of the section.

if you wanna roll something that is good in both pve and pvp in terms of melee. probably an SS tank is your best bet. probably invuln or fire for a primary.

specifically in the case of travel powers, yes. However its easier to sum it up under "speed" because we're also referring to the slowing down of your character, and ultimately game pace, when you do things like say pop an insp or get attacked.

i guess if you broaden the original definition form just powers working the same in pve to everything working the same as in pve, then you could put it under that tag.

EDIT: also while i can understand the inability to not give a timeline for pvp fixes, i think the pvp community deserves some sort of timeline on simple bug fixes. alot of the bugs that have been in game since i13 launched and haven't been fixed yet the majority being very very simple bugs such as numerical errors ect. . I really don't think that is too much to ask for.

welp, every character i've made since 2008 has had the bare undies and either a cowboy hat or the mortal kombat raiden hat. or i hit the random button 4 times and go with whatever it lands on.

the new community rep said this. someone who is in a significantly lower position of power and wasn't the main guy behind the changes. it would have been much different had it been posi saying it.

I don't know where the perception that PVP requires a lot of resources to maintain, or fix comes from to be honest. PVP is not resources intensive like an end game for example. Minimal story telling, maybe none at all, is needed to be updated. No new currencies to worry about, or progressing paths, or new grouping encounters. Bug fixes, and some changes to coefficients really. Most MMORPG's would love to have PVP powers acting differently from PVE like it is in CoX. It would allow PVE balance to not change so wildly, and PVP would not be effected by any PVE changes. It keeps both the PVE, and PVP player bases content.
to do it correctly, it would take a complete overhaul. if they wanted to put a band aid on it, then yes, all they need to do is change a few numbers to fix alot of the bugs that have been in game since i13 launched.

and thats really what i was hoping someone asked, is if they are planning to spend any time fixing those bugs.

PvP revamp was a horrible mess that they never should've bothered with in the first place. Even Positron (think it was him) practicly admitted as much in one of those website interviews (though he formulated it a bit more diplomaticly).
he didn't. thats part of the problem.

as a matter of fact he did the exact opposite a few months ago coming into the pvp forums (for the second time in 3 years) telling the playerbase that DR was necessary.

also im guessing they didn't address it at all?
  14. i don't suppose they mentioned anything(or anyone asked them about) pvp anything did they?

im pretty sure i already know the answer but just figured i'd ask

  16. roll it a corr, defenders in pvp are pretty pointless.

also, don't pvp. its not fun and too broken be fun anytime soon.
  17. i think i switched between 2 res procs, a defense proc and 3 pet purples for HP or the rech intensive set(can't remember the name but it's got a proc and has 6.25 rech for four slots) and 2 other procs. just depends on what youre slotting for at that point, rech or hp.
  18. it made sense.

if i was fighting someone and i lost, i understood why i lost. the mechanics made sense.

there wasn't any stupid rules in place to limit skill and help pver's pvp.

TS wasn't overly enforced like it is now, the speed was quick which was awesome but the system, while having its flaws, made a considerable larger amount of sense than it does now. buffers weren't useless, builds made for pvp were were better in pve then compared to now were a pvp build in pve now is horrid.

so i guess i liked the more diversity(ironic when you look at the sig) and that the system and mechanics looked like it had some from of logic behind them.
  19. regardless of whether or not the effects are wasted, i still with it wasn't a proximity buff D:

Ok. So this thread really has no point now.

Just lock the damn thing. Not like the devs are going to look at it anyway

I highly doubt the devs know what is going to be in i26. and you are refering to future things that of course only someone in their facility would know. and i'd go ahead and assume that most of the time, the devs play stuff by ear. and don't know things well in advance before they do them.

that doesn't mean that there aren't players who know everything about the *current* game and are on par with the devs in terms of that.

true but someone close to your kids, perhaps say a nanny or a close personal friend might know more about certain aspects of your kids than you. someone who is close to your kids and spends alot of time with them ala players

you might like to think you know more about your kids, but that isn't always the case.
