DP is -250 regen which is half that of LR which is -500. it helps but in no way shape or form shuts off regen. -

depends on what kind of damage. if your talking AoE farming damage probably spines scrappers would be your best bet or even and archery and/or fire/mm blaster combo. but for single target AV i would probably say something like a BS/SR and rad/sonic combo would be best.

Ive got two builds in the works for a new PvP toon. one is a psi/dev blaster and the other is a BS/regen and im curious as to which one would be more viable. ive played a psi blaster in PvE and its underperformance made me not want to make another one although if it is as viable in PvP as people are saying it is i can overlook the lack of PvE ability. any thoughts?

yes -
this is a build i've been working on for a week or two. this would be a respec build for a PvP oriented build. I've never really mad a character specifically for PvP and i really wasnt sure what to slot for so i figured recharge was a good place to start. any comments would be greatly appreciated

they dont struggle and even if they did, they arent the only AT that do. You could also argue that some scrappers struggle at their ability to do max damage, as well as some tanks being able to, well, tank.

I would say that nothing has to be IO'ed however, to do what you want to do and play at the level that your wanting(or from what it sounds like your wanting) it would have to be IO'ed. If your wanting the best survivability and best damage, theres no question you need to IO your character, but lets not start complaining that an non IO'ed toon isnt as good as an IO'ed one.

personally, i agree with snakebit that you've had a bad experience with your fire/fire and thats given you a skewed perception of the AT. change your tactics up a bit maybe change powersets and see if that helps. -

OMG man change! this would be like me running to the tanker forums and saying that they cant kill anything quickly after playing my taunt bot of a stoner. play something other than a fire/fire. or just something other than /fire. I just got my archery fully slotted for ranged defense and hes able to wall farm in cimerora like a boss. try /mm, i know you hate the animations but short of psi scream, you really dont notice them that much. fire/fire is at its best in PBAoE range and its very hard to be that close, stay alive, and still put out max DPS with some outside help whether it be insp, buffs, or h3alz0rs.
really though, blasters arent broken. I.E. kranik soloed the ITF with his fire/fire. i would provide the link but i cant seem to find it -
psi/dev is pretty badass in PvP now. /devices is a great secondary for PvP and psi has always been fairly decent in PvP. as a PvE toon...not so much.
