whats the least played defender primary
Trout Defense.

I'd put my money on Sonic/* being the least played. Cold Domination still sees a good bit of play, not only because it's the newest and shiniest of the primaries, but also because it's packing some impressive debuffs and general utility. TA might also be a contender for least played, at least in my experience.
ugh...FF?
Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.
Voting for Sonic here as well. Vary rarely see on... which I don't complain too much about. It's not terrible but the shields don't tend to help as much as FF's or Ice's def based ones. Some of the -res elements are nice though.
Sonic. I've met a lot of high level TAs on freedumb and Cold is not so rare there either.

I would have to say Electric is the least played here but the other 3 are not fair behind in rarity.
[/ QUOTE ]
Electric support is probably the least played simply because it doesn't exist.
I'd vote for Sonic. In my entire time in teamed with just one Sonic Defender, and perhaps 10 /Sonic Controllers.
I could team with maybe one Sonic in a month on Freedom no less when I was actively teaming a lot. It's early graphic issues all, but killed the set as a choice to be played.
There's a strong correlation between healing powers and primary popularity. Just sayin'.

I didn't realize Defenders have an Electric support primary.

I think that's the point. Electric Support is the least played primary because it does not exist. Thus no one plays it.

Aye, although I'd wonder how trout defense would work.

50s: Bla- Arch/Mental Cont- Mind/FF, Earth/Cold, Ill/Therm, Earth/Rad Dominator- Plant/Psi, Elec/Earth Corr- Fire/Storm, Arch/Sonic, Rad/Kin, Beam/Sonic, Psi/Time Stalker- Elec/SR Def- Storm/Dark, Emp/Psi, Dark/Elec, FF/Arch, TA/Ice, TA/Elec, Kin/AR, Cold/DP, Traps/Psi Scrap- Fire/Shield Tanker- Dark/Mace, Ice/Kin Brute- Claws/WP, SS/Energy, BS/Elec
I'd vote Sonic, for sure.
I very rarely see other Sonic Defenders, and lord knows they're difficult to hide with the giant orange musical bubble. I love the set myself, but hardly ever see anyone else using it. /Sonic Controllers seem even rarer.
Cold Domination would tie for a close second, Trick Arrow seems pretty common on Virtue these days.
And Trout Defence sucks, because the scales obscure your costume, and the smell induces nausea in people with medical conditions.

And it induces new medical conditions in those without them currently.

A partial selection from my 50's on Freedom: Ail = Ice/Traps, Luck = Street Justice/Super Reflexes Stalker, Mist = Bane, Pixy = Trick Arrow/Archery, Pure = Gravity/Energy, Smoke = Fire/Fire Dominator

Which is why the tier 8, Wheel of Fish, is so awesome. It's sort of like either a smaller radius Force Bubble or a larger radius Repulsion Field with a disorient added.
The scales that go flying everywhere when enemies get smacked by the tails adds a little too much clutter, but otherwise it looks awesome.

i would say sonic as well. With therm now having shields and FF alot of people shy away from sonics.
Sonic also has the bad luck to get a redundant anti-mezz power, a "knockback" aura power that can't be used on yourself, and a very situational intangibility power. All with no heal, and much weaker shields than Force Field. Sonic does offer extra damage, but it requires a teammate for the full effect. Plus, let's face it, Sonic is ugly, and as a concept doesn't fit easil with a lot of characters.
Once Thermal comes to Defenders that may be the last we ever see of Sonic.
i think Sonic is another set that makes a better Controller secondary than a Defender primary. With the exception of Mind Controllers all controllers get pets that can be used as anchors for the debuff and benefit from the ally shields even when the Controller is solo.

The Sonic debuff ring only really works out for some of Controller primaries. Mainly Ice, Earth, Fire, and Plant. It's ok on Illusion but the pet is often reluctant to enter melee. The Gravity pet has a knockback aura.
The thing is that /Sonic is so toggle heavy that the character can do little else. In the end game. Kinetics does a better job in many cases because it can restore endurance and access massive damage buffs. /Sonic is often left gasping for air, especially on a Fire or Ice that already has an endurance heavy toggle.

FYI, you can use it on phantom army too and they tend to like melee.

FYI mine like melee cause I summon them in melee. After that, they prefer range.
