that new contact arc told me i did it.
EDIT: I did mean to kill cath but then i heard he was on global agenda and figured that was punishment enough. -
depends on where you plan on PvPing. I would say if you're planning on pvping in freedom, with everyone else, you're probably better off with a fotm mind/fire dom or something of that matter. however if you're doing it on basically any other server where pvp isn't srs bsnz, it doesn't matter as much what you choose, so long as its pvp built. for instance, I can think of 2 people on triumph that pvp with their mind/ice doms that, while not topping the charts for leet damage, still are pretty viable. also, anything that isn't a warshade will pvp, okay, not great, but okay.
except for dahjee's sonic/sonic, that thing is crazy good. -
Quote:just a note: if im understanding you correctly, this is way too much work. having to do a macro before each mission is more work than, I atleast, would wanna do especially when its easier to just normal target but to each their own i guess.you can actually contribute even in a fast paced team as a rad debuffer with a trick i picked up from a friend a while back. Since on a fast team anything shy of a boss isnt gonna live long enuff for the debuff to last anyway debuff the bosses. The easy way to do this is make a targetcustomnext macro that you can edit per mission pretty darn easy. like say yer goin into a malta group mission. your macro would be like /macro Boss "targetcustomnext gunslinger$$targetcustomnext commander$$target customnext zeus" this will allow you to hit the gunslingers, tac ops commanders, and zeus titans first without having to search them out. you could bind it to your number pad if you wanted to and have like numpad8 be the target and numpad 4,5,6 or whatever be enervating field, rad infection, and lingering rad. (just example, thats whats comfy for my hand). i suggest the macro instead of the bind so you can edit at the start of each mission. but itll let you pick out the boss fast, debuff him hard, and the fast moving team is moving that much faster. ive played both debuffers and buffers to 50 several times so far and my own opinion is that i prefer debuffs. the reason behind it is that players do quite a bit to their own toons already to make themselves awesome. set bonuses, and just plain skill that sometimes buffs are overkill. like putting forcefields on a SR scrapper who is already capped out for defense seems a waste. but debuffing the resists of the mob that scrapper is attacking is win/win. I hope that trick here helps you enjoy rad. cuz its really a fun set.
the biggest difference i've come to is, obviously, your playstyle and who you play with. For me, I can't stand just buffing and attacking and prefer to debuff and attack since its more active. also, i tend to team with more experienced players so most of the survivability buffs, like ff sonic and emp, isn't nearly as helpful as say a cold or dark. -

Quote:in the mind of sleetI pose this question to you not in terms of what you, the real life player think. Rather, if your hero were a real life person, how would they answer?
- What defines a hero?
- What beliefs do they hold dear that makes them a hero?
- To what lengths would they go to uphold those beliefs?
- What price would make them set aside their values?
- Would they stand by those convictions, even if it were against public opinion?
- Would they put their friends and loved ones above those of the public at large?
- What lines will they not cross?
- Would they take a life?
- Would they sacrifice their own life for what they believe in?
- Would they give up being a hero?
Yes, I am working on something (hopefully) fun.
And no, it won't be something with Minis in it.

Quote:Pretty sure Castle said he knows there is a problem there and that he knows what it is, and is trying to work out how to fix it.
Will try and find the quote.
Quote:Turns out, that is only tangentially correct. The actual problem is that the check which is supposed to turn off the attributes in certain circumstances is failing. I'll be fixing this early next week, after first tracking down all the places it's broken.
since he said early next week, i.e. now, it prompted my question of whether he fixed this, along with the other 3 tfs (that i know of atleast) that are also broken.
yea i missed this, almost as much as i missed the market -
Im curious if any of the 4 TFs/SFs that were bugged were fixed as well >.> and if so why were they not included in the notes

hitler was also talking about us talking about this in TW also

fair enough, i misused the word build. In the first one I meant anyone going to pvp with a pve build is going to get owned. in the second i meant that you power selection and AT doesn't really matter so long as you build for pvp. as tam said, being triumph, you aren't going to need a 20 bil inf psy/em to do well in pvp, no one is gonna have that hardcore of a build and use it on triumph(well atleast now anyway)

Quote:anyone that goes into anything pvp with a pve build is going to get wrecked, plain and simple. and yea leveling a pvp toon is horrible, which is why most pvpers get them PLed up although that is dead now too but i digress.it is the case for me
I'm phail at pve most of the times too, i blame the rig, internets at mah house, and lack of funds/motivation to improve either.
me = fat kid picked last at kickball
at the same time, i don't mind showing up every once in a while to pvp stuff. I've even tried to make a pvp toon (mental/sonic blaster), but lvling him became annoying. Stuff that's really good at single target takes a long time to solo up to 50. my poor little blackbird is still lvl14.
but you don't need a specific build to do amazing in arena/zone. yea psi and sonic are the best bets but fire and archery can work as well.
my point is that since i13 took basically all skill out of pvp, so long as you know the rules and build for them, pretty much anything can pvp ok. yea some stuff does it better than others, but nothing that you'll find on triumph anyway. some of the good things about being a phailpvp server is that we haven't had to deal with smack talking in a while and its not hardcore at all. i mean anything short of warshades and some defenders, built correctly, it doesn't matter what you pvp with(on triumph). -
ya know im slowly becoming as apathetic to this as tam is. if you get an event going i'll gladly join up, sure. but i still don't think promoting pve in a pvp zone is going to encourage/help pvp at all because the system is so different and people will get pissed of when, as too be expected, a pve toon will get ganked in a pvp scenario and then chalk it up as them sucking or something like that when that more than likely isn't the case.

Quote:would much rather have therm/fire than dpFire Blast isn't a primary.
They said 'every at is getting a new powerset in GR', not a primary, a powerset. That includes DP and DS which will be available to many only when GR comes out unless they preorder like some of you did:
Tankers, Scraps, Stalks, Brutes: Kin Melee
Blaster, Corrs, Defs: DP
MMs: DS
Controllers, Doms: Electric Control. -
