What defines a "hero"?
|
1. Someone who puts other first and willing to take the brunt of the pubic if they disagree with what you are.
2. The belief that Justice is the above all and be all. A life is never worth taking regardless of the situation.
3. Every day I fight crime. If the day comes when I question these beliefs, then I am no longer a hero.
4. Never would.
5. Yes.
6. Everyone is equal. Emotions do not enter my mind when the tights are on.
7. My love for Barry Manilow. Other then thatÂ…none.
8. If a life would be taken, it would be my own.
9. Yes
10. Yes, but never a villain. I would be a civilian.

I pose this question to you not in terms of what you, the real life player think. Rather, if your hero were a real life person, how would they answer?

Some thoughts from the mind of Magenta Bolt...here comes some RP, haven't done this in a while...
What defines a hero?
A hero has many definitions to many people, but they all have one thing in common they inspire others to be better people. Whether it's a single Mom raising her child and supporting them nonstop no matter how busy or broke, or a Volunteer Fireman crawling into a burning house to pull out a kitten, to a man in tights stopping bank robberies. If it makes you want to be a better person hearing about their actions, that person is a true hero.
What beliefs do you hold dear that makes you a hero?
Putting yourself out of the equation. Always thinking of others and wanting to stop at nothing to keep them from warm and sorrow even at the expensive our my own feelings and physical well being.
To what lengths would they go to uphold those beliefs?
As far as making the ultimate sacrifice to save the life of a stranger. In the face of overwhelming odds, to stand up and be able to smile in the face of death and make a sarcastic comment at his behalf.
What price would make them set aside their values?
Nothing short of kidnapping and torturing my daughter Holly would keep me from my values and what being a hero means to me. And even if they would, it would be serious hell once I have her returned to me.
Would they stand by those convictions, even if it were against public opinion?
Even if the public outcry would be against me, and the law put in my way if I know something is right I will commit to it. Even if it pits me against friends, or working on the opposite side of the law.
Would they put their friends and loved ones above those of the public at large?
Only my precious daughter Holly would I put above any others, which is admittedly selfish of me. It's hard to choose between strangers and your own daughter given a life threatening situation, but as a single mother I need to watch out for her.
What lines will they not cross?
Even in blind fury of such spiteful acts toward humankind, I would never bring myself to actually murder another. Not to say I wouldn't beat them within an inch of their life, but with my powers I could keep them alive enough to survive. Sounds a bit cruel, but sometimes a little punishment is the only thing the scum of this city understands.
Would they take a life?
Never
Would they sacrifice their own life for what they believe in?
Another quandry, as I would hate to leave Holly behind as she has no one else to take care of, but it's about the greater good and being a true hero. It would be a heartbeat desicion when the time would come, but my feelings tell me I could do anything if nessecary to keep the public from peril.
Would they give up being a hero?
Seeing as how I didn't really want to become one to begin with I could see myself going back to my old life. It would be hard after being a hero to leave this life, touching so many citizens, and gaining such respect and admiration of the youth. But to finally be able to have a normal life, it would be nice.
...and scene.
Was actually pretty fun trying to get into the head of your alternate persona, as it were. I'm interested to see what kind of responses others have through the eyes of their toons, and where this information is going toward. :P

Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

The mini-apple pie dessert I had at PF Changs last night was very giving. But not heroic, just giving.

I'm looking for something a little more than the standard "we fight evil" and "beat up bad guys" kind of answers. I'll be following up with another set of questions later.Yes, I am working on something (hopefully) fun.
