  1. I solo'd the entire thing with the exception being rommie at the end with my cold fendur. sounds like a case of lrn2play

the third mission wasn't hard i did it pretty straight forward. pull down req kill him. pull down rommie kill him. both AV's cost me a shivan each(which probably what got me killed later cuz i summoned shivans on rommie, veng'd them and STILL got my backside kicked)

    Pick my Alpha

ITT: best/funniest gif/jpg picks what alpha slot my night widow goes.

    i'll start

  3. you should do another pug mstf. those work the best.
  4. when was the last time the devs made a pvp change?

i'll go ahead and say its the same
  5. regin and elec are both fine. regin has more straight forward survivability in that it has higher HP with DP and between mog hiber/shadow meld and phase, you should basically never die. elec has the nice resists, a decent heal and end/recov prot which is always nice.

you really can't go wrong with either.

  7. the only problem i have with them banning dbl xp in AE is the same problem i have with the devs that extends to alot of different things. that being(in this particular case), if they don't want to give double xp in AE, fine, but at the very least say it. not adressing the issue or lying about it being "a bug" is, to me, almost insulting.

i've had a problem with the pissing on my leg and telling me its raining for a long time now.

I participate in fightclubs and I also duel outside of fightclub and plenty. I am pretty sure the reason DR is kept ON in arena is because of the resists squishies receive.
honestly im sure its both, depending on the players. I say that because you've clearly played with people who keep dr on for that reason, i've played with many people who keep DR on for the reason i gave.

    Quote:
Also, what PC guy said concerning HD and TS, those are NOT, by any means, factors which do not have a profound effect in a person's build. On the contrary, without HD and TS, the squishies and other toons have a huge impact in how well they perform in PvP.

So I clearly disagree with PC guy there.
perhaps i wasn't clear here. you're correct, HD and TS have an effect on the build's performance, but i didn't say anything about performance. turning DR off and on does change how the build works, it changes the rech, damage, mitigation, self buffs ect. are all effected by DR and change when its turned off. there are many attack chains and builds that would be completely different if dr wasn't on all the time. but in two ways of pvping, zone and arena, keeping DR on in arena is easier to deal with since most builds are built with zone pvp in mind.

off the top of my head, my perma PA/hasten troller would be much more viable if DR was off.

    Quote:
On another note, I really don't understand why a squishy would refuse to allow DR off when fighting a melee toon.
because their build that they built with Dr in mind wouldn't be as good.

    Quote:
Well, it's not at all likely. - It is an optimal solution. PvP being fun again would be great. DR shouldn't be there and if innate Res was to be removed, or if there was an option to remove it in Arena, that'd be fine. The only irritating result would be Mezzes lasting longer with no ability to negate them. Either way, Kins, Sonics, etc being useful again would be a fair trade.
there is a way to keep DR and for the devs to accomplish their original goal AND create a fun, balanced, and intersting system(that makes sense). like i said, the optimum solution would be for them to completely scrap the system and redo everything. thats not going to happen because they know full and well what a giant cluster**** they put out and how much work it would take to fix it (it also probably require hiring someone who DOES know about pvp because clearly no one on the current staff does). while reversing the changes isn't the optimum solution, it is, like you said, and optimal solution and the most likely out of those two options(which in and of itself isn't likely for the devs to do) and the easiest task for the devs to accomplish that will yield the best results for the player base. but this all goes back to what donna said, this is a game designed for those who design it, not those who play it.

QR: most people keep dr on because when youre making a build it's something that you plan for and build around As allowed to ts and hd which are just unavoidable annoyances in zones that are easily turned off and not have a profound effect or diffference in a persons build.

Also personally I kinda agree with posi that dr was needed. I don't agree with his reasoning for why an I think the amount of effort they put into it is laughable but the system in theory is good. In a perfect world the system would be given a massive overhaul so that it makes much more sense and works properly. The reality of course is that if/when the secs decide to do this, they have no idea how pvp works or is played ex. The last thread posi posted in these forums about dr, and would probably screw it up again or they'd look at it and say screw this. The easiest solution and most likely we can get the devs to do is taking out dr; however, that isn't by any means the optimum solution

right, thats why every single power in the game that does damage doesn't do the same amount in pvp and pve. and why self buff (and all buff powers but you said "the players own powers so i'll keep it in the realm) are messed up.

    no it wouldn't.

it didn't before. it won't if you took dr out altogether. it's more of a challenge to keep said buffs up and not who can buff the fastest.

personally i think the hate for DR comes from the sheer inconsistency in how it effects what buffs, how you (the devs) never released anything about what the numbers were and that it's values make no sense at all; not because it simply exists. along with afew other things, such as the lack of support to change anything about the system, and pvp as a whole, when everyone, including you(the devs), know its imperfect, shown by the fact that including this post and the post GF had about CoP not bringing back base raids, its been years since a dev has posted in these forums.

  15. there are a few major flaws with this thread and this idea in general.

    1) this thread is fairly pointless. the majority of people who read through these forums have already done or know how to do a hami raid. hell, you do a mini version of one everytime you go through a LGSF the only difference being you do it 3 more times and theres a few more people and you use nukes. but my point is the people you'll be likely to run with already know everything mentioned here and the newbies that you'll pick up from triumph watch don't know the forums exist.

    2) currently, hami raids are like pvp. its impossible to get both restarted because both are broken systems, have no point, and desperately need dev attention. the current dev team is either understaffed, too lazy, or doesn't want to look at either and until they do theres no point in trying. sure we might get one raid every month or one round of kickball, but the facts still remain what they are.

    3) again, like pvp, theres absolutely no ******* point to running a hami. the only reason people use to run them were because the HO was rare loot that could only be gotten from a raid. now i can speed through an STF three times in the time it would take to run a hami. and i'd die alot less. and i'd get a better chance for stuff to drop. theres a new incentive now with shards, but the same goes for them that does HOs, i can speed a tf get 3-4 shards and whatever piece i need in a fraction of the time it would take to do a hami, which the last i heard were averaging 16 shards which also aren't guaranteed. (same goes for plowing tfs).

tl;dr - theres no point in trying to restart something that has been dead for years due to dev attention, until it gets more dev attention, which wont happen because this dev team moves at half the speed of smell and has these sorts of things on the bottom of their list behind animated tails, hair, and new emotes for cat gurls.

Does anyone else here have a PvP character that is considered very poor, but made it to 400 rep?

  18. So I was in GR beta before they took out the incarnate system and was very...disgruntaled to say the least that it was taken out. However, i figured it would work out since i was under the impression, rather everything i read, said that they were reworking the system because it didn't benefit the players all that much and we were grinding the same content which alot of people, myself included, didn't really like.

that being said, i didn't participate in beta and hadn't seen/played with the system until today...and it really feels like im missing something because it looks like the exact same system that they took out of beta and didn't change really anything.

as far as I can tell the only thing they changed/added was

V merits are no longer included in the process(which i don't like) and they added an introductory arc which after running was nice but it wasn't something so drastic warrent holding the system back.

so my question is, what did they change, aside from the stuff i just said, from then to now to warrent holding it back? because just looking over the system and talking to people about how it works, it looks like the exact same thing. i'd like to thing they made some drastic changes under the hood so to speak so that they fixed the problem of "not helping players like they wanted" thing but all the abilities appear to do the same. so again, whats different?

My only issue for inherent Fitness is Swift. There are times when the slow "trot" is a good effect. If I wanted to go faster I'd turn on Sprint or the travel power. But my main thing against the active Swift Power is for my melee characters trying to line up the mobs for what few limited AOE attacks it may have, one tap of a sideways movement key works fine without Swift but many times with it the character moves too far. I'm not going to spend a lot of time lining things up, but if I can do it with 1 or 2 key taps I will. Swift ruins that for me.

So yeah, for Swift I'd like that enhancement for some of my characters, but for the other Fitness powers I wouldn't use their negative enhancements. (Hurdle is so much fun!)

It's a decent suggestion. I'd go for it. Maybe the Devs have an alternative solution planned already?

there isn't a good post about DR because its such a complicated and ****** up system that literally no one can figure it out. arcana did a post about it a long time ago and it was so confusing and had real crazy math.

basically, DR hits everything. it doesn't hit everything by the same amount. it hits defense, damage, and recharge harder than say HP and regen.

invuln can assuming the player behind it isn't a downy and half awake while he's playing. which it sounds like this guy is the opposite of that.

HP cap when dull pain is up, (should) soft cap s/l(and probably all defenses when supplemented with fort) AB AND mind link and this guy still dies? why do people think this game is hard again?

its 40% but it gets DR'd to about 29(iirc)

not like resistance is crazy mitigation anyhow.

the only mitigation in pvp now adays is HP and high percentage heals. and crazy high defense via elude.
