Shhh! Rangle is plotting.
there are a few major flaws with this thread and this idea in general.
1) this thread is fairly pointless. the majority of people who read through these forums have already done or know how to do a hami raid. hell, you do a mini version of one everytime you go through a LGSF the only difference being you do it 3 more times and theres a few more people and you use nukes. but my point is the people you'll be likely to run with already know everything mentioned here and the newbies that you'll pick up from triumph watch don't know the forums exist.
2) currently, hami raids are like pvp. its impossible to get both restarted because both are broken systems, have no point, and desperately need dev attention. the current dev team is either understaffed, too lazy, or doesn't want to look at either and until they do theres no point in trying. sure we might get one raid every month or one round of kickball, but the facts still remain what they are.
3) again, like pvp, theres absolutely no ******* point to running a hami. the only reason people use to run them were because the HO was rare loot that could only be gotten from a raid. now i can speed through an STF three times in the time it would take to run a hami. and i'd die alot less. and i'd get a better chance for stuff to drop. theres a new incentive now with shards, but the same goes for them that does HOs, i can speed a tf get 3-4 shards and whatever piece i need in a fraction of the time it would take to do a hami, which the last i heard were averaging 16 shards which also aren't guaranteed. (same goes for plowing tfs).
tl;dr - theres no point in trying to restart something that has been dead for years due to dev attention, until it gets more dev attention, which wont happen because this dev team moves at half the speed of smell and has these sorts of things on the bottom of their list behind animated tails, hair, and new emotes for cat gurls.
Positron's i13 letter: We are trying to make PvP more accessible to new players, while giving experienced PvP'ers the advantage that comes with formulating tactics around the new systems we're putting in place. PvP from now on will be on our priority list. If something isn't working out, we'll be in there tweaking it and making it work, for the entire future of the product, not just Issue 13.

Please tell me when you can run a 6 minute STF. Seriously, all the ZONING in the TF takes longer than that.
If you include the monster beatdown, with a median time of 20 minutes, you're STILL talking a 12 minute STF.
Care to NOT pull numbers casually from ye olde poope hole?

And, as mentioned, you won't be speeding 3-4 of them in the time it takes to do one Hami Raid.
Umm PC guy, the Mitos have a good chance to drop shards and great for merits or an Hami O. And I hope to helping out in starting it back up. I know on my back up server, last weekend Hami O they ran four times on the raid day. Great turn out. Mnnn shards.

This is why I love a lot of people in this server, but want to shove people like PC Guy into the Freedumb ditch where he belongs
Looking forward to seeing the raids start up again. I'll be happy to help lead a team any time I can make it out, too.

Is it just me or does PC-guy remind anybody else of the two old farts in the balcony on the Muppet Show?
Yeah, I know the player to forum user ratio is low but if anybody new is looking its nice to have the info available in case the want to come along....ya know...I don't even know why I am bothering to explain myself. Just don't come if its so terrible.
Anyway, thanks to everybody else for the support.

Awesome Infi! I'll try to keep an ear out for when you guys schedule these things, I'll try my best to attend if I can and help out w/ any roles that's needed! I don't even mind the reward so much, the history of hami raids alone is probably while I still like them alot. Go Triumph!

Well, we made a valiant attempt, but couldn't get beyond the 2nd set of Mitos.
This raid showed that people are willing to help, but also showed a few flaws that need to be answered. The 2 main flaws is Leadership and Taunting.
The Leadership flaw will be dealt with easily. Taunting will take a bit of delving into.
In the coming days, I will post a Triumph Hami Guide, after reading up, and tweaking a few things to adjust for our server.
And as always, those who will help lead teams (or even a raid, i mean I can't be the only one leading raids constantly lol), hit me up in here or globally in game.

We didn't complete the raid, but with the high drop rate of Incarnate Shards off of the mitos, it's nice that you can get something useful out of even a failed raid now.
The Players' Guide to the Cities
you can bite me tam. u go back to freedumb, u mainly play there anyway.
I'm seeing i did miss an opportunity with the taunting. And we DEFIANTLY need to have a bit more EoEs and people carrying a full tray of em to hand out if the teams that eat em run low.
I'd actually like to try to organize a hami raid in the Abyss one time, but use a rogue/vigilante/villain tank for hami taunting if possible rather than an MM pet stream since now we can do this. Also, we have drones in the Abyss now so it's easier to spawn Hami. I just tested it and was able to spawn him (yay Reborn badge, finally!)

In an effort to lend a little help to Infy's attempt to restart Hami raids here on Tri, I have patched together a list of some of the guides that seem to have some good info. Please, if you would like to take part in the raids and have never experienced one or never been on a successful one, educate yourselves. The more we all know about what everybody needs to do the easier it will be on the raid leaders and the more successful and fun the raids will be for everybody.
Overall raid guides, the first is pretty recent the other two are a little old but from what I can tell they are still useful. Some info is repeated but worth a scan through:
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...don+Raid+Guide
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...hlight=hamidon
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=119552
The strategies differ some and I certainly am not saying they must be followed to the letter, but the basic info about how the raid works is good in all.
Other tidbits, from my past experience, for those that have never done a hami raid are:
There is a hospital bed in zone now so no more getting shut out because you left and somebody snaked your spot.
Think minimalist when it comes to costumes and extra auras. Anything to help reduce the lag.
If you cannot fly, go get a jet pack. You will likely need to get airborne at some point if you are attacking the Mitos.
EoE's are your friend. Hunt some Giant DE or buy some on the markets. Remember you need atleast 2 spots open on your inspy tray to get an EoE drop when you are hunting.
An lastly, be patient. These can be a bit like hearding cats, especially during set up.
I am sure others have better search-fu than I, and more experience, so please post anything you think might be helpful. I have been on successful raids redside here on Tri and I know we have the peeps to do these. Kudos to Infy for stepping up and putting in the effort.
