You forgot the annual "Bring out your fat Santa-themed tanker with the humorous name" event!

Mine is fire. I got no complaints, even if I do't use the hold much it slots 4 pcs of Basilisk's Gaze and I can't complain about that. And both fireball and fire blast are very useful, it's not like I've got a surplus of single-target attacks to finish off bosses with. ^_^

Celestial Armor has a sort of Indian or Eastern Gods look to me -- as opposed to Norse or Greek Gods. Sort of what Shiva and Kali might wear into a battle as drawn by Marvel/DC I think.

Ascension Armor is a more general, "You're a powerful incarnate now, you gotta wear cool armor" thing. All spiky and flashy and intricate, but I couldn't say what the inspiration for it was.

Sinister Armor came with the CoV expansion, so it was clearly designed not just for evil-evil bad-bad villain types, but ones who did business in the Rogue Isles. So I think the spider theme is pretty deliberate. Besides, spiders = bad, we all know that, right? Dunno what Spiderman's thinking.

Alpha and Omega Armors -- I got no clue. To me they seem like, "We got to do two new armor sets, but we can't use any of our really cool ideas because these ones are free. Come up with something today, go!"

Not a purist either, I've tried using Nanowrimo the last five years to add 50,000 words to existing fanfic stories.

Based on that, I've written 50,000 words in November 4 years in a row, but this year I only managed about 16,000, so I failed for the first time in 5 years.

On the other hand, I probably wrote about 10,000 words in October on the same story, and I still need to finish the chapter I'm on....

I've read a couple of Golden Girl's comics because she's posted them here. Other than that, I was mostly not even aware of what people were doing.

And why, oh why, have you left your poor character alone and abandoned for 50,000 days? It ought to be a crime!

The saloon girl outfit is nice, but a lot of people wanted to make a female gunslinger. Especially when the set is called "gunslinger".

I really thing that covers about 95% of all the hullabaloo over this set.

All of them.

As a sort of update, I started a Street Justice / Shield brute back in... when did that set come out? September? I designed the very most expensive build I could... four damage purple sets, a Panacea set, five LotG +7.5% rech, Glad Armor 3% Def, Miracle and Numina uniques, multiple billions required. I hit 50 on my character in early November, and as of this last week I managed to purchase the Panacea unqiue and finish off my build. ^_^ And I'm actually working on more modest builds for my just-hit-50-last-night claws/willpower brute, and also for a dark/dark brute who's currently level 44. I can always find ways to spend money, so I have to keep making more. ^_^

I've actually put together several very expensive builds like that in the last year -- nearly identical builds for my electric melee/shield scrapper in February and for a fire/shield scrapper in about June. The point is, I can still remember when the most popular rare IOs were out of my price range, let alone purples/pvp IOs/uniques. 100 million influence was a fortune to me then. ^_^ So I really think anyone can do this, if they want to.

I vote for the martial arts blaster secondary too... I think that's been shown over and over to be a very popular request. I know I for one would make another DP blaster in a heartbeat. ^_^

Without IOs I would have quit quite a while ago.

I've always hated the "us vs. them" debates that you get in MMOs. In other games and in the past, where it might have taken you a year or more to reach the top echelons of your chosen class, then there was maybe some validity to being dismayed to find that your class did not excel at something it was meant to excel at, or wasn't valued because another class did that thing better. But in CoH, you can not only play EVERY AT to 50 if you want, but there really isn't an AT out there that's not worth playing. (Though my MA stalker comes close, and I'm none too fond of my peacebringer or my DP/Devices blaster).

There's no reason to play a scrapper instead of a brute? My Electric Melee/Shield scrapper would like to have a word with you. ^_^ That's still my best tank mage. If I want to destroy stuff, that's the toon to do it. But my favorite toon for months now has been my super strength/invulnerable brute, basically a tank that actually does damage.

I have about 12 scrappers at level 50, and 4 brutes, with two more at 48 and 44. They all play different. Brutes are very powerful but not obviously superior to scrappers or (for the most part) tanks.

I like the pack a lot. The pieces are very well done, and I will use them. Pre-tinting doesn't bother me too much though I understand why it does for a lot of people. (The belt/sash/bow thing for females for example, winds up being tri-colored because of tinting, it would be limited to two colors without.)

It's not a gunslinger pack for females. That's the fail, and also the unspoken "guys can be heroic, girls can be sexy/work in the sex trade" message, however unintended. Maybe they should have done a gunslinger pack and then a saloon pack. More money for them doing that anyway.

But the costume pieces themselves are very nice. All these posts about "they need to take their time" and "more quality, less quantity" don't really make sense to me because I haven't had any issues with the quality of the recent costumes, and in fact most people want more quantity -- as in, more rugged/non-sexy female options or porting some of the male options to female, etc.

But yeah, bustle skirt listed under "gunslinger". >.> Like I said, a gunslinger pack with gunslinger outfit for both genders, and a saloon pack with gambler/saloon outfits for each gender, and no one would have complained.

The only way I know to do it is to hit the window key (as if to alt-tab out to another program) and then hit print screen while CoH is on-screen but not the active program. Then copy/paste into Photoshop or Irfanview or whatever.

Women can now smoke.

That ought to count for some additional gender equality.

I don't like to turn graphics down so I tend to run one account on my laptop and one on my main computer, and the laptop is slow. So I mostly do this for PLing one account.

In any case, my favorite toons can solo +2/8 so I don't need the 2nd account to help me accomplish more per se. ^_^ But I do have a freebie account and two cheapo premium accounts (one bought during the VIP head start sale in August, one bought for 99 cents this weekend) that primarily exist so that I could hypothetically start a TF on my own and then solo it... if I can manage to run all four accounts at once.

A friend of mine "solo'd" Doctor Quaterfield this weekend. Well, I'm not sure he's quite done yet. There are several missions in there with 4-person simultaneous clicks, where he has to have all four accounts logged in at once (and windowed so he can click everything quickly enough). I don't know if anyone's tried a solo Dr. Q before. ^_^

I think Fulmens has worked as a third party on such trades and probably others here on the boards would be willing to do the same. I've only done these things a few times, and I've always been willing to front the money first since I'm usually the rich one, and also the one known on the boards and The Market channel. ^_^
