Masterminds and Controllers are restricted to VIP or a certain tier level for Premium accounts; IOs are the same so unless you're at the right tier you might not have access to a controller or MM and you might be limited to playing using SO's only. It depends on how long you've paid for the game.

The most active servers are still Freedom and Virtue, so by default it would be easiest to get teams on those two servers.
Freedom is more active during East coast prime time, Virtue is typically more active during West coast prime time, from my own observation. -
I was like, "Could you play a different song? You've been playing the same one for four years and it's getting kinda old." And he was like, "Okay but first you need to go kill this Snaptooth guy for me." So I did that, and I came back, and he was like, "Okay, go kill Snaptooth again...."

Very nice stuff, guys. Very epic! That's what TW should be.

Quote:Arrow forward. Arrow right. Arrow left.As a gold medalist on the slope and sled track, I highly recommend increasing your mouse sensitivity, both in Windows and within the options inside the game. It will take time to get used to this, but it will remove one obstacle (your mouse), and is also healthier for your wrist. Then, if you're serious about control, buy a Razer Optical Gaming Mouse (laser precision like you didn't know existed), and a specially designed gaming mouse pad to take advantage of your new mouse's pin-point DPI (seriously, do this, because a high DPI laser doesn't even know what to do with an ordinary mouse pad).
Take Scarlet Shocker's tips to heart, and above all, practice, practice, practice. One thing that helped me was to take periodic breaks to do other things in or out of the game. Otherwise, at a certain point, frustration takes over and you stop exploring new tactics. Every time I've won the gold medal, I was in a relaxed (but alert) state of mind, very open to finding and trying new maneuvers. Learn how to take speed boosts without losing control, as it can be virtually impossible to obtain gold medals on some character builds without those.
City of Heroes is a very casual game (might equals right), and the slopes are one of the few areas where players are challenged to succeed by learning new tactics. This is where much of the frustration comes from. Few of us will get to the point where we can win the gold medal every time. For me it is still rare, but I have a few under my belt now!
Who needs the mouse? -
One big trick: if you aren't going forward constantly, then it's harder to stay on the track. Your momentum will carry you off the track if you aren't trying to go in any other direction. So in that respect going faster yields more control than simply letting gravity take over.
I can get silver and bronze with nothing but combat jumping on. IR only really helps for the gold run, and if you have a special "jump enhanced" 2nd build that can take care of that. IR does greatly add to your speed and makes control harder, I wouldn't use it until you have the track mastered enough to at least get a bronze consistently. -
Thanks for the compliments, but in a way it's really complimenting the animators. They did a very good job of conveying swinging a massive, heavy weapon around. Very fun set because of that!
And I definitely vote for Sam sexy six-pack. -

Okay, here's what Titan Weapons brought to me.
First of all, let's review. My street justice brute who I got to 50 and kitted out with a very nice build:
I went with a goddess because I was enamored with celestial armor and because the name Megamisama (Japanese for goddess) was available. Then I came up with a background to explain why a goddess was walking around on Earth punching and kicking bad guys.
So when Titan Weapons appeared, I thought, what weapon is better suited to a god or goddess? Thus Megamisama's sister appeared:
The end! -
By the way, Zombie Man appears to have not one but two kins parked at the top of the slalom (hey I spelled it right finally!) ramp on Virtue, with IR on auto... been there all day today (Saturday). If you're on Virtue you should take advantage of that!

Yay!
Planted level 40 fire/kin Prisstina at the top of the ramp and placed Onyx Butterfly, 33 stone tank, in granite, then hit IR and took off. Took about 10 runs to get the gold. (I've been doing this on other toons previously though, I know the course fairly well now).
Just managed to do it in 50 seconds. The trick was to brake just before that one jump or drop spot, so that I could drop properly without losing all momentum.
(The 45 second score showing is my Titan Weapons brute Megami Hime, also done using IR ^_^ ). -
Quote:Yes, the slolum course. There's only one place where you absolutely need to be able to jump and can't, and for that there's the option of going down under, although it's tricky since you're going so fast that you run into the wall instead of dropping down most of the time.maybe the short course but not the long course since there are parts you have to jump lol
Still, I'm trying to do it now on my level 33 stone tank (with the aid of my 40 fire/kin). I've hit silver medal so far, and even managed 51.50 seconds (50 is gold). I just need a perfect run and I'll do it. It's a little harder because I don't have combat jumping or ninja run for control, but IR gives you more than enough speed and the rest is falling down without stumbling. -
Quote:A stone tanker in granite armor with IR should be able to do it, or so I've been told. ^_^its been years since i actively did the skiing lol, one time though when i was randomly doing it on my stone brute (not in granite), i managed to get 42 sec on the big slope thanks to several SBs, IRs, and ninja run (was at speed cap jump speed cap and had lots of jump control lol)
the ski slopes can be pretty tough though if your reaction times are not the best -
Yeah, the secret that I learned last year is that running speed does not really help but boosting your jump speed makes you go fast. And jump control helps quite a bit too.

If saving the world's ugliest baby is all that's supposed to keep me in this game, then this game's got problems.
Luckily there's more to the game than just that. -
I could accept Homer's Enemy as the best episode, but my favorite is still the Scorpio episode "You Only Move Twice".

Quote:Go run SSA1 again. 8 minutes of work, you get another a-merit.I just got one each for running the who will die arcs. That's 4 a merits in a row in under 2 hurs. Now I happen to be saving up for bigger fish but isnt that 2 Lott 7.5s in under. 2 hours per character?
That's a lot of loot to make in a short time. Was this a bug or is this how they are normally bonusing
Run it again for 20 regular merits if you like.
Then you can do both of those things again after a week has passed.
It IS a lot of merits quickly the first time through, but your character has to have confirmed alignment first as noted. Still well worth doing on a few characters at least. -
Quote:You're the level of the leader of the team. So by joining regular sewer teams you could theoretically get to 50....Wait. Isn't there a gigantic gulf between the two sewers? Don't the regular sewers cap out at 12 or 13, and Abandoned Sewers don't kick in until level 35? How exactly were you going to fix that?
OT: Maybe an hour or so - usually don't bother after level 12-18 depending on AT, I'll usually join a posi or PuG Scanner team at that point.
That was the plan anyway. I didn't work too hard at it. -
The sad part is that my character Sewer Ratty, who was designed to go from 1-50 in the sewers, is kind of redundant now... I mean it's no big deal anymore, people actually ARE using DFB to level up well past 10 or so.
I've used it to go to 22, but that gets pretty old. -
Either the ss/wp brute or the kin fender or corr. As noted, most anything CAN work, but certain things are going to work really well even without help.

With States gone, Recluse has a change of heart, abandons the Rogue Isles, and dedicates himself to being the new champion and defender of Paragon.
...it could happen!
