I think its kinda getting close to time. I am seeing a 50x increase on sleep recipies. 25x on cheap pvp recipies.

They have with their indication of their impending release affected the market dramatically. I think some communication is warranted but maybe i am wrong.

Has anyone else noticed an increase in the price of their neiches.
Has anyone noticed a decrease in sales

I for one have for example. I have a lvl 21 Def Proc pvp io that wont sell. And i have never ever in 2 years almost had a problem selling a pvp proc for the normal price. I think this is an example of the coming or not coming Its same with the real economy. The lack of forcasting ability is causeing mayhem.

Is this what they intended who knows. But this is what is.

Not a troll. But a serious quesion. Are we to no longer play the market mini game? Or are they trying to do something else to help non marketing players. Should we wait and see? Maybe but as for now it will cost a minimum of 250 million for a sleep purple set. Before this announcfement it was about 8

i think thats a big change

I haven't noticed a change in the going rates for items I flip, but I focus on pretty high demand things... As for the price of cheaper purples, I got an immob drop on a trial the other day and it sold for a small amount very quickly. I'm not sure how expensive they were before because I never bothered with them, but I'd say it sold for about what I would expect it to without considering converters.

I think the devs have said as much as they plan to. They probably haven't made up their minds yet about some of the things you're wondering about. After all, it's beta. They don't know exactly when it will go live or whether more changes will be made first. They probably have some ideas and intentions, but those can change.

There have always been some market fluctuations in response to things in beta. Speculation is part of the metagame. These are the biggest changes I can think of since the market was introduced. Even bigger than the introduction of merits, because those could not be used to buy Purple or PVP recipes. As it stands, converters will likely be used primarily on Purple and PvP IOs. There is Big Money in purples and pvp, so we get big speculation and big price changes.

I can't think of anything that the devs have an obligation to say.

I think they know that most players don't play the market. Marketeers are probably 2% of players, perhaps way less. They probably thought, "Well, we can collect real dollars while equalizing prices. What's not to love?"

Now the real dollar part is out, but they probably don't consider the other half a bad side effect.

The price changes you're seeing are BECAUSE people are still playing the market minigame.

Long-term, converters will very possibly change the shape of the market. But if anything, I'd expect more niches to arise, not less, because more items are potentially valuable.

I don't get your question? As I saw from another post YOU are part of the cause for the mass increases you are seeing. You bought 100+ of the purple recipes at low prices demand has skyrocketed as many others have speculated as well, drying up supply.

The sword cuts both ways...as just as people are speculating on turning crap to gold, others I wouldnt doubt will hold off on any expensive pvp/purp purchases knowing that the prices of these will be possibly driven down as well one converters hit. (or they may be waiting on the repercussions of TOP DOCS PvP IO farm, which will increase supply and hopefully further lower costs)

I need to learn to be more patient. I just got these iOS burning a hole in my pocket. I clearly was marketing and hope to turn it over fast. That was my decision not the devs.

I will wait and see. Hope it's not long though.

Still all in all I am very pleased with the latest patch

So you are the sole reason I had to spend 100mill slotting 2 purples into my 'cheap' pvp blaster...thanks for that

You're completely free to play the marketing minigame. But you can't really complain if your overpriced IO isn't selling. You took a gamble listing at that price. We all know the devs make regular changes that completely undermine the prices of items on the market, but them's the brakes. Remember when Breath of the Zephyr was a fabulous set that everyone got for the great defense bonuses?

The converters and the super packs are indicative of a movement in the game towards gambling-type rewards. The converters are basically rolling the dice, giving you a do-over if you get a useless rare or purple recipe. The super packs are like Magic: The Gathering cards you buy in sealed boxes.

Changes like these are democratizing the rewards in the game, making them more accessible to more players. That's good for the game in general, and in the long run, that's good for the market.

If the other 98% had been more diligent in the first place (as the 2% has been advocating for years) you'd ALREADY be occupying Wentworth's.

I'd like that, but it seems unlikely. I would be surprised if anything changes between now and the New Year.

As for Fulmen's point about inf being destroyed, I was just thinking about that. I have a feeling that we'll set a record for total inf destroyed in one day as soon as these converters come out. A whole lot of big bids are going to fill very quickly.

The inf sinks are coming!

Honestly, I don't think the devs have a care in the world about this fictitious economy of ours.

It's been stated that there's too much inf in the game - and as long as people continue to play, it won't change.

One could argue that 10% of the inf held by this alleged 2% disappears every day with market fees. But, because the other 98% of the "me want nao" continue to play, earn inf and buy overpriced stuff instead of using merits and AE to get them, the 2% will never go broke and probably continue to make 1 billion a week without trying very hard.

I made 1.6 bill today myself in one sell.
But, I don't buy things now. Not yet. I'll wait until all of my toons are inf capped - then I might buy some uncommon salvage at ww. Me, I'm hoarding it all, because there's no telling what's gonna happen in the next patch.

I paid 1.25 billion on the market tonight, buy it now price for a Gladiator's Javelin Toxic Damage proc, because I wanted it now and it took me like a day and a half to make the money anyways. Inf is abundant and I don't think enhancement converters are going to change that.

I think what converts will do is normalize the price of purples- I see them settling in somewhere between the prices of the "good" sets and the "bad" sets, obviously with the "good" sets still being a bit higher. I also see the "big three" PVP IO's dropping down to be in line with the rest of their respective sets, again slightly higher.

This is obviously all speculation, but either way I'm not worried about having to hoard inf.
