I usually get a downstream anywhere between 400kbps and 40kbps. That's not an exaggeration. I've been down to dial-up speeds before now. Of course, that's when the connection is stable. It's been known to cut out every so often.
Very soon however, I shall be getting a fat n' juicy 10Mbps fiberoptic connection. That day cannot come soon enough. -
Mind/psi, yeah? Confuse is your friend. It won't draw aggro so if you use while they haven't spotted you, you can lay it on thick. Let the mobs splat each other for a while, then finish them off.

Quote:The EU isn't one homogeneous entity. It's comprised of dozens of nations, each with their own telecom infrastructures which vary in quality. In fact, even within each nation the quality varies from area to area. Please, I didn't mean it sound like it did but you are both are in the EU.
I wasn't laughing at you individually but I thought the EU had a good telecom infrastructure.
Soulflame probably has access to to either a ASDL2 or fiberoptic line given the 4GB in 15 minute download. I on the other hand have to endure a standard ADSL line stretched 2 miles from the exchange. 4GB would take as many days to download. -
I have a few weapon based characters, though I'm only going to re-roll one in order to give him an even bigger hammer.

I have to deal with download speeds of 40-50 Kb/s regularly. Then again I do have an offensively slow connection.

Ditto, CTD'd during the 2nd phase. Got the same error message and couldn't rejoin.
-
The same thing happened to me. CTD'd halfway through Keyes and couldn't rejoin. Trouble is I regularly CTD during trials (not so much on Lambdas). If I'm unable to get back in to finish, I'm gonna have to find some other way to get Emp merits ...oh wait, there is no other way!

The real question is whether VEATS will be able to access their hidden 6th slot from the off.

In my quest to please the masses I've created a new Youtube channel dedicated to my favourite nerdy pursuits, prevalent among those pursuits is CoH.
The first upload to this new channel is the first in what I hope to be a series of supergroup interview parodies featuring characters created in this wonderful game, so without further ado I present Supergroup Interviews: Episode 1. -

For the 1 - 50 journey, VIPs get access to GR and all its features for free, that includes side switching and alignment merits, which are good for acquiring difficult to get recipes. You also have access to global chat channels which are handy for finding teams, thus facilitating levelling.

Y'know what's really weird? No windows in office maps. Not one. Granted not every room or corridor needs a window, but perhaps a room with view (or just generic sunlight) might be nice every once in a while.

"Caw! Caw! Bang! %$#! I'm dead!"
Please stay that way. Hollywood today leaves me hollow and far more cynical than I have any desire to be. I hear so many rumours of reboots of film that do not need rebooting. This is one of them. -
Quote:This.I fully expect powersets to be purchasable. ... For Premium and Free players. I also fully expect that VIP's have them unlocked while they are VIP.
I have no problem whatsoever with full powersets being purchasable, but as with Time Manipulation, Titan Weapons/Clown Summoning/Custard Blast should be granted to VIPs as part of the sub.
Powersets aren't fluff items. They're full on gameplay features, and might I add features that have traditionally been part of the monthly subscription.
I pm'd Zwillinger about this, unfortunately he wasn't at liberty to fully answer. This left me with a slight pit in my stomach. I feel I may end up being disappointed. -
I don't know about you, but I always find it an utter pain in the rump to re-toggle my armours after rezzing. I pop a wakie or hit Soul Transfer/Resurgence/RotP and spend the next minute activating half a dozen toggles. This is particularly painful when in a pitched battle as you're most vulnerable after rezzing (especially with wakies). I know Soul Transfer grants 30 seconds of untouchability, which to be fair is bloody handy, but often times it's not quite enough to get all toggles up in time (some o' those mofos have long activation times). Other self rezzes, don't have that luxury.
Here's what I propose. On death all toggles remain up, but supressed. When rezzed either by wakies, self-rez or teammate rez your toggles unsupress and you're back in action quicker.
However should you be ported away from your deathsite, i.e. Hosping or Recall Friend, then toggles drop and you have to re-toggle.
Just a humble suggestion from a humble chap. Feel free to critique/savagely maul. -
"Oh, there's just one more thing..."
RIP Mr. Falk -
It wouldn't surprised to find that due to the initiatives name, most new players will head directly to Freedom. I don't think we'll see much of a bustle here on Union. Even Virtue will get off lighter than Freedom.

I think there would be a benefit from making the store part of the game world, even if it's just npcs located in all in-game stores alongside menu access.
In fact stuff like costume pieces could be picked up from a vendor in Icon, perhaps have some of those mannequins displaying some of the new shinies. It would help with immersion a little. -
-
After trawling through that colossal discussion thread for the last two days, my brain is melting trying to figure out what to make of it all. I think what's best is to wait until we see some more specific details. Things may change between now and when Freedom goes live.
I'm not that concerned with the influx of new players. Newbies will be welcomed, returnees will be welcomed back and morons shall be welcomed to my ignore list. -
Quote:I'd be happy to send you a couple of costume files. If you're not on Justice, don't worry. I have scenes in mind (yes this sucker is progressing FAST in my head) where I will need several heroes and/or villains in a scene, and I can demomap folks in from other servers. Alternately, if I need a really big crowd of players, I can always see if Test is available - then you can just port the character of your choice over there.
Quote:And yes, I've already found my music for the teaser. No, I'm not telling you what it is.
Quote:And I might actually need voiceovers for this one. Mwahahahahahaha...

Here's Valkyrie showing off the latest in Paragon fashion. This season she'll be wearing Alpha by Icon, gorgeously accented with golden Valkyrie armour, also by Icon.
So Yeah, Alpha for the tech origin, and Valk stuff for the Norse flavour.
-
I thought I'd have a crack at a Valkyrie Redux. The thing to remember is she wears a nanite power armour. So it needs to be techy, so I used the Alpha pieces as a base. However, it also needs to reflect the Norse influence too. The Valkyrie pieces do just that.
After that it was just a case of colour schemes. I prefer the 2nd version as the lighter gold really pops against the darker gold and black.
