Very very slow download NCSoft Updater

i'm sure there are tons of people that had this issue before.

I been googlin' for a direct download because this is killing me. 70-90 Kb/s

Can I download the patch directly from somewhere else, or do you have a solution?

I have to deal with download speeds of 40-50 Kb/s regularly. Then again I do have an offensively slow connection.

I'm sorry to hear that, slow internet is manageable if you know where you stand with it.

I downloaded 4GB of Going Rogue yesterday night from STEAM in 15 minutes.

Now I run the launcher, I get hit with another 4GB, which said it would take around 20 hours.

Are you guys crazy? I get the best speeds out of that thing. What countries are you in?

Please, I didn't mean it sound like it did but you are both are in the EU.
I wasn't laughing at you individually but I thought the EU had a good telecom infrastructure.

You obviously failed to read the post you replied to

I downloaded 4GB of Going Rogue yesterday night from STEAM in 15 minutes.

I loaded up NCSoft Launcher, that ran at 70-90KB/s - it's not my connection

The EU isn't one homogeneous entity. It's comprised of dozens of nations, each with their own telecom infrastructures which vary in quality. In fact, even within each nation the quality varies from area to area.

Soulflame probably has access to to either a ASDL2 or fiberoptic line given the 4GB in 15 minute download. I on the other hand have to endure a standard ADSL line stretched 2 miles from the exchange. 4GB would take as many days to download.

Yeah I have ADSL2. and I really feel for your slow connection, it's a giant pain in the *** man. I have been there (and sometimes still get lagged out, its not perfect)

I usually get a downstream anywhere between 400kbps and 40kbps. That's not an exaggeration. I've been down to dial-up speeds before now. Of course, that's when the connection is stable. It's been known to cut out every so often.

Very soon however, I shall be getting a fat n' juicy 10Mbps fiberoptic connection. That day cannot come soon enough.

Please I know Europe is a collection of countries just as the US is a collection of states. Lol. I have FTTH to my home and I get 150MB up/down.

There are multiple update servers. I know there were two dedicated NA servers and it's possible now that the versions have combined there may be more than that available.

However I'll now get to the actual point. Sometimes the connection to one server is unusually slow. So a possible solution is to stop and exit the downloader and then start it up again. Which server it connects to is purely random so you may get the same slow connection, or you may get a faster one. Several attempts are sometimes necessary.

Soulflame,

I would stop the Launcher and have it try to verify the GR you have already installed. Currently my updated Live folder is at 4.55 GB; Test and Beta Folders are+/- .5 GB from that. It sounds like the Launcher is trying to re-install all the files. It should just be patching the updates.
