Yeah 11.8 was a nightmare. Thanks for the heads up on the 11.9 - I downloaded it yesterday.

Oooh i'm all gold.

How long will this current Arc be up for?

Quote:That's the quickest way to get... nothing.I think we all need compensation for all the bugs they are working out. Not something small like oh here is a costume code for a certain costume but only for a few ppl like last time. But something else entirely that will affect all the VIPs that is on at this time.
We don't deserve anything but a stable, playable game. Which they are doing right now and will continue to do. -

I'm all for fixes.
Thanks for your hard work. -
Yup, this was the link:
City of Heroes Going Rogue®: Complete Collection on Steam
http://store.steampowered.com/app/29680/
Texas; it's not possible for me to do that. -
Yeah, I have that, I can play it through the NCSoft Launcher.
But I bought it through STEAM and the link takes me to that outdated launcher. -
Quote:How did you get this?Seems to work fine for me through Steam. Installed it last week, and it ran the NCSoft Launcher. There was a weird thing where there was a patch and Steam claimed the game was uninstalled. I patched through the NCSoft Launcher to be sure. Had to click install on Steam and it detected the new update without actually downloading anything.
Clicking play in steam launches the NCSoft Launcher, directly starts CoH, and seems to work fine. I get my steam overlay, and all the features with it, with no problem.
Win7 x64. Highly approve of the Steam integration so far.
Thanks -
When running on STEAM i get this:

Running steam://rungameid/29690 brings me to an outdated version of the launcher
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\city of heroes going rogue\CoHUpdater.eu.exe
Will this be changed any time soon? -
I kind of tire of thinking "they must think Europe is a country" lol
Yeah I have ADSL2. and I really feel for your slow connection, it's a giant pain in the *** man. I have been there (and sometimes still get lagged out, its not perfect) -
someone must have not wanted me to email...
Through some modern wizardry, a light touch of reading and a bit of a gamble, I decided to delete the checksum files from the installer folder. Looked like they were not matching up with what the NCSoft launcher had 'told it'.
So, decided to run the CoHUpdater through STEAM and if it decided to try overwrite or 'FIX' my files, I had enough, I would let it do its thing and see where the course took me. The updater hung on Connecting...1# with a black screen for about 2 minutes, I was looking at something else and it started doing something.
It showed a CoH screen with a message background to use the NC Soft launcher and a link to "learn about the new launcher" - on the updater, it was verifying files and going through the piggs. I thought any minute, it's going to say "Errr these are not right, overwriting"
But it didn't, it finished verifying with no complete message or anything like "update complete or ready to run" -- just showed the download speed at 0KB/s with no other messages except for "Next"
Clicked next and I was in business. It loaded up the game and said in STEAM, I was playing City of Heroes: Going Rogue.
Mission accomplished.
So, I think it needed to download the files from the NCSoft launcher, then I could use the CoH Updater that the STEAM game is linked to run through. I don't think its supposed to work like that anymore, but as I deleted the checksum files that the NCSoft launcher made, it knew the files were correct. I think i will have to do that everytime theres an update.. i fear
I don't know, but it works now. -
You obviously failed to read the post you replied to
I downloaded 4GB of Going Rogue yesterday night from STEAM in 15 minutes.
I loaded up NCSoft Launcher, that ran at 70-90KB/s - it's not my connection -
lol you go
)
I shall let you know how my moany email went -
Thanks for informative information je_saist. I can't get around the fact, this is on sale NOW on STEAM and it doesn't work.
That is messed up. I just might complain. -
That is bull.
So what happened to "STEAM Users should continue to use the COH Updater"
Thanks Necrotech -
I'm sorry to hear that, slow internet is manageable if you know where you stand with it.
I downloaded 4GB of Going Rogue yesterday night from STEAM in 15 minutes.
Now I run the launcher, I get hit with another 4GB, which said it would take around 20 hours. -
You probably think I should be asking them this, but what the hell..
I want to run this game from STEAM as I bought it from them. How do I hook this up with STEAM games tracking
"in-game City of Heroes: Going Rogue"
Thanks -
guess the quick answer is
"Shut up and suck it up" -
i'm sure there are tons of people that had this issue before.
I been googlin' for a direct download because this is killing me. 70-90 Kb/s
Can I download the patch directly from somewhere else, or do you have a solution?
Thanks.
