  1. Happy birthday Matt Thanks for all the hard work and good times!
  2. Perhaps I'm just being stupid today, but where's the patch note that announced this change? I looked and can't find it anywhere.

Perhaps it's time to open that thread up and put it on these forums then. :P

    SG Logo

There should be an option in the SG costume/ uniform menu that says "Hide SG Emblem" or somethingorother.

    Edit: Serial said it better.

I think( my opinion here so add disclaimer) that many veteran players are tired of the continual need to reroll for optimum character performance. It makes the game a chore or a job and not fun. Redoing characters after each issue gets old 14 issues later. You know?

    [/ QUOTE ]
As a vet player, I understand your viewpoint but disagree. As a player of several MMOs, change is to be expected over the long run. Sometimes, change affects a player directly, in terms of build, gear, loot, etc. It's part of the way MMOs are. I've been through several changes since launch, including GDN and ED, both of which directly impacted my main, a Stone tank. I rolled with them when many outright refused them even before giving them a shot.

Admittedly, I have little tolerance for those who balk at changes - especially if they can't be bothered to actually put some testing in before posting kneejerk reactions in a playtest feedback forum (making it harder for devs to actually find useful feedback in a sea of non-constructive posts).
  6. Ha, you should have seen Beef_Cake's posts then. Epic LAWL.

I think your OP is a worthless rant. See? Everyone's opinionated.

    So frustrating

Well some may be a royal PITA while soloing even as EBs. Nosferatu for one, Madame of Mystery is another.

Currently in my Crab Spider's queue:

    Find Johnny (Sonata's) Soul
    Defeat Malaise
    Defeat Positron

    Yeah, fun all around

    TF Tank?

Axe ain't a bad secondary either. It's END heavy, but if enemies don't have Knockdown protection, you can often chain Knockdown with many of the attacks. I've taken down Fake Nemeses before they pop PFF, because they couldn't stay on their feet long enough to do so.
  10. Let's stay on topic here.

Speaking of which, I want to see more backstory that involves the construction sites in Steel Canyon and Port Oakes

I assume Stone is out, since I don’t want to be relying on a /kin.

    [/ QUOTE ]
IMO, you assume wrongly. As a Stone player, I only use Granite situationally, like for tanking AVs or very large mobs. Still, it's not too hard to toggle between Stone Armoer and GA, and pop EE when need be. Granted, GA is better if you can take Hasten and Swift, and Stamina doesn't hurt either. But be no means is a Kin required for playing a Stone. It's even less so if you can get into some +Runspeed IO set bonuses, but that's a whole other angle.

In contrast to the OP, you /fail at satire

Also, this thread = 5 stars.
  13. My Crab Spider is a robotic soldier designed by my MM character in order to increase Arachnos efficiency by eliminating weak human soldiers that can be susceptible to fear, doubt, egotism, disloyalty and so forth. Chances are, vice some extreme aberration in programming (or being hacked), he won't be going rogue.
  14. When you complete the first arc from your patron, you should also get a "freespec" that you can use to respec your character at any time. Just type the command /respec to get started. At lvl 41, you can choose your Patron Pool just like any Power Pool, from the menus at the upper right side of the Power Selection screen.

Or you can wait till you earn your next power at lvl 43 and just train into your Patron Power through any Arbiter.
  15. I'm still looking for some back story on the Shadow Shard. Dark Astoria would be neat too

C'mon Leech, we all know the devs get paid to post on the forums all day! Forget those silly Community Rep people!

Speaking of which, thanks for the update Avatea
  17. So here's my rig. Not much really. My new aluminum case is in the lower right corner. Just one 19" LCD display. On either side are my speakers. To the right of all that is my wirelessly networked printer - it just happens to be at my desk because it's a convenient spot. The keyboard and mouse, I won at Hero Con last year. Rig is Core 2 Duo w/ 2GBs RAM, GeForce 8800GTS, and Windows 7 RC (64-bit). The Musketeer on the front has been modified to control four case fans (2 in/ 2 out).

However, I was tired of not having 3D sound. Without much of a place to mount speakers, I figure out the best way to put up a pair of rear channel speakers was to mount them to the back of my chair. There is a cable, but I modified it to be more than long enough to reach the back of the computer and the power outlet (for the amp).

Not pictured, to the right of my desk is the 24" LCD TV w/ DVD player & cable TV feed. To the right of that is my wife's computer & desk. This is all in our bedroom since we have a roommate in the 2nd bedroom.

My wireless router sits in the living room with my NSA-220 network storage device. I use that box to backup important files (it has RAID1) and store my music. It can also download files for me (I can remote into it at work and tell it to grab FTP files (it can do torrents too)) and sync my USB key to it. The wireless router also does Homeplug so I can network via the power circuit. My old router is sitting unused on the far right.
  18. On occasion, I make a wicked alcoholic beverage know as the Red Death. It contains seven different liquors and is usually served in a pint glass. However, I like to keep the recipe under my hat as much as possible.
  19. <QR>

    So here's my personal story:

Last year, I was working on a very stressful project for a very stressful client, spending half a month here and half a month there on the job site. This gave me a bout of acid reflux. Besides putting me on meds, my doctor at the time said that [u]I had to give up caffeine[u].

This actually ended up being a great thing for me. For years I had been a big fan of Mt. Dew, but at the cost of my teeth. Mind you, My teeth aren't horrible, but years of drinking the sugary, acidic beverage caused me no end of fillings, inlays, and in a couple of teeth, crowns and root canals. And coffee was giving me jitters and staining my teeth. So if giving up caffeine meant improving my health, in more than one way, so be it.

I like water, but I still like beverages with flavor. I've rediscovered Tang. Yes, Tang. The low-sugar variety, of course, where they use half sugar and half Splenda. I also like to brew ice tea - a little caffeine, but definitely not as much as coffee or Dew. Moderation and all that.

Speaking of brewing, I brew beer on occasion. I've done so in the past in large quantities with friends, but in my apartment I don't have room for 10 gallon carboys. But thanks to my mom-in-law, I have a Mr. Beer kit, which works out pretty well. When I don't have any home brew, I prefer Russian Imperial Stout (BJ's Tatonka or Old Rasputin), Old Viscosity, or some Sam Adams when I can't get my specialty brews. Again, moderation, etc.

I also love Jaegermeister. I know, I'm odd.

    Edit: sp, formatting

I'm certainly hoping we'll see the level of customization I've always wanted, but I'm keeping myself from being giddy.

Here here. I'm optimistic, but I'll believe it when I see it. And sometimes not even then.

Wow. I just saw the new faces for the first time.

    I15: The Ugly Stick Cometh.

I don't want to crunch the new artist, because I'm sure as she becomes more familiar with the tools, she'll get better, but yikes.

The screens in that dev diary really made her work look bad.

I can think of only one type of customization that would truly require an entire expansion and gobs of developer man hours to produce... especially if conversations at Comic Con last year still hold any water...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yep.
Given the weight of circumstantial evidence we have this far out I'll be shocked if power customization isn't a feature of GR.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Yes, especially combined with the vid (as you mentioned) and the big hint dropped by Miller at Hero Con about doing stuff that they previously said wasn't ever going to happen (to paraphrase).
