  1. This is probably the cheapest I could make it but ptobably just the regular IO's will be way more than 10 mill even if you have the recipes and the salvage to craft them. Took Caltrops at lvl 49 for... some resaon I guess:

    Necessary is maybe a too strong word, though if your Invincibility makes foes gather around you, being able to hit 5 of them at the same time with the right positional is a good thing, at least it is for me.

    With the right positioning, Soul Drain + Shadow Maul are usually fun, a lot of it.-
  3. This might not be most efficient build for a DM/SR but it should be cheap, you're softcapped to all positionals and have decent recharge. +HP and +End Accolades would help. It could be a good starting point until you make more inf to perfect it at a later point if so you wish:

  4. I've got good enough positional defence values with this build plus endurance is not an issue for me. I took Darkness Mastery for concept purposes plus having foes immobilized with TT prevents them from wandering when stunned by OG and provides me with targets for Dark Regeneration, however Body Mastery would help on endurance management and Energy Torrent is great dmg mitigation if you prefer going Body Mastery. For me an important detail towards survival on my DM/DA was getting the +HP accolades. Here you are my build in case you can get some ideas from it that might help you. I know my attack chain is not optimal but it's not bad for my slow playstyle. Been thinking lately about getting rid of Dark Blast and respeccing in Night Fall for more AoE goodness but I guess my ST attack chain couldn't afford it.

  5. I don't think I qualify as an old player (unless we consider real life age) but I've been in the game for a bit. Moved to US servers a while ago, mainly Freedom and Virtue and have as many lvl 50s there as I have on Defiant. I'm currently playing on Defiant but I usually alternate subs between EU and US so will prolly resub there in a couple months to review a few chars that could use a respec and to play other chars I miss.

    Whoah, didn't know that, that makes way easier for Scrapper and Brute softcapping (plus now I need a couple more respecs US side if I ever resub there)

    This is the best I managed for Gemini's requirements, Hasten has a 1.4 seconds gap and Soul Drain has 35 secs recharge when Hasten is up. Still, it has Health, Stamina, Conserve Power, Physical Perfection and Travel Power... and will cost loads of inf I'm afraid:

    I don't know how I would survive multiple AVs or 12 bosses wailing on me at the same time without aid self. Defense is kind of 1-0 in those situations, when you get hit, you need to heal back up to 100% before a second hit lands on you, and siphon life usually does not allow me to go from 20% hp to 100% in 6 seconds.

    Basically, If I could build this toon, I would transfer over all the IOs from my DM/SR that has all those requirements (much much easier to do). God knows he would not survive without Aid Self in those situations. I doubt the few points of resistance you are going to get extra from SD is going to make a difference when you're getting hit for 70% of your hp bar. SD looks very sexy due to AAO + SD.

    Trouble is, looks like I DO have to give up a few things when making the same build in SD, aid self looks like one of them, but even without it, I can't seem to make 45% def M/R/A AND have permahasten+permaish soul drain. It was possible before the BotZ Change but now it looks like it went the way of the dodo.

    Since I am usually amazed at the tricks people pull with slotting, I thought I'd put it up as food for thought to the build-fu-master-shifu's out there. =)


    PS: If I were to drop aid self, I can get the build to where I want it but I'm not happy with the slotting of tough and dont like not having grant cover. Plus SD recharges at 35 seconds.

    Mind you, I think on this build, you're taking into equation the def bonus of Phalanx Fighting for when having a team mate in range. If you switch off Phalanx Fighting on this build, your def numbers don't reach the softcap.-
  9. If you can get your hands on the Gladiator's Armor +3% def enhancemnt, then it's a tad easier, still, you might not like the recharge on Soul Drain (40 seconds when Hasten is up and 28 seconds of Hasten downtime). Still, no purples used on the build though at this point, inf shouldn't matter I guess. Still a useful 17% dmg bonus:

  10. This is the best I could do, softcapped to all, 40% global recharge, didn't use neither the fabled PvP enhancement for +3% def nor any purple sets. Unfortunately, Soul Drain's Recharge is 52 seconds. Could be reduced shuffling a few sets but the budget (already looks expensive) would skyrocket. In any case, the 19% dmg buff should come handy:

  11. Ah well, seems it got sorted. For some reason, I received an email replying to my petition... which was addressed to all Aion players in response to mass complaints, since I never played Aion, I think it's weird.

    Did anyone else get a similar reply? did Aion and City of Heroes get merged into same game and I am the only one who doesn't know?

  13. I'd personally go on Nrg/Neg defense (35ish% should be ok paired with your resistances) since 70ish% s/l res should do fine with just any decent s/l def lvl (25ish%). That'd leave you with the cold and psi gaps, but when building up for def you raise both typed and positionals so I'd rely on whatever positional you get from raising other typed defenses for said cold/psi gaps, plus Battle Axe has decent KD/KU dmg mitigation (plus Burn would also help on that). With such a good self heal that recharges in no time, I personally wouldn't look for +regen, it won't hurt having it but wouldn't look for it.

  15. Hmmm, guys you got it all wrong, see, no need for server merge/list merge, everything is fine EU side:

    1.- I got a team this morning so there's no problem getting teams.

    2.- Zones seem empty because everyone is inside an instance doing missions and also in PvP zones. Also the Architect buildings are very popular instanced zones that unfortunately, may help giving the impession main common zones are empty.

    3.- The /sea command shows only a few ppl since pretty much everyone is in hide precisely to avoid the flow of Team/TF requests.-

    4.- Let's not forget we are on Christmas holidays and ppl want to spend time with their families singing carols instead of playing computer games.-

    5.- Worldwide crisis, ppl don't want to spend money playing games.-

    6.- The EU population is increasing, I am living proof of it since I resubbed today.-

    Oh me wants an all Tanker one too! Either Inv/Nrg, Ice/Dm or my upcoming Shield/Mace and Elec/Mace ones for you to choose. My Shield/Fire would be good too but I want this kind of things on toons from main account and Shield/Fire is on second account.

    I have it on a Brute and it's real fun, so I rolled a Scrapper too, but going for a different approach, still in doubt between softcapping him to melee def or go for high positional defenses between 25-30%, undecided yet. But anyway, enjoyed the combo a lot on my Brute.

    Well, at least now I have done an all defender STF, an all Controller STF and now an all Scrapper STF which was the only reward since I didn't get a single recipe from that whole TF, not even mish completion ones despite having that char parked permanently in Ouroboros, and as you can see in the pic, my HO sucked.

  22. Just got kicked from Defiant on both accounts, on one had the usual "Lost Connection to Mapserver" message while in main had "Mapserver Disconnected".

    Been unable to log so far, Union and Defiant appeared greyed out but now they have a green dot, despite that, I get the "Lost Connection to DB Server" message qhe I try to log in.

    Did this just happen to me?

    3.- Yes they would, tough, but they would, this is main problem of this option, yet it's related to point 1, if NCSoft ever makes such a move, they'll probably be ready for consequences.-

    4.- Can't do anything can they? they could allocate Union players to server X, Defiant players to server Y and pretty much everyone would start transferring (money for NCSoft) or rolling anew in these two. They are heavily populated, and yet the aim of NCSoft is getting new subs, hence their population is intended to grow, can't see a problem here either.

    5.- Merging server lists would have exactly same stigmata whether you like it or not, at the end of the day the message that would be passed along through the internet would be "server merge" independently of it's just server merge or server list merge, we all know that, all explanation stating "it's just a server list merge, we keeping same servers yadda yadda yadda yadda" would sound as an excuse anyway and ppl would think "if they did that, server reduction can't be far away". It is what it is.-


    The only real "BIG" problem I see is the lose of german/french support, despite there's some solution suggested for the french side by trying to aglutinate french and french canadian players, still, if NCSoft ever makes such a move, either they'll provide the steps to keep ongoing support or be ready for the loss of players, which wouldn't be that important in the first place if they were really considering any kind of merge.-
