Very laggy on EU servers.

Since the maintenance, i'm getting around 850 ping to the servers Defiant and Union.
Also taking much longer than usual to zone.
Seems i'm not alone with this either, global channels are full of lag complaints.


I'm guessing some crappy router in germany died?

It's entirely unplayable for me. Powers take a second or two to activate after being clicked, and can barely move because of rubber banding. On the other hand, I hear from some SG m8s that they can play fine.

EDIT: Fine for a british friend with a ping of 120 odd vs. my ping of 900+

Only problem i had was at the character selection screen, however ingame i was fine though did see a lot of people talking about it on the chat channels.

Yes am to finding this , was logged in and the chat was taking forever to appear. Logged out to go eat supper and now have uber massive dl happining, looks like COH EU servers are struggling for hamster power at mo, least is not as bad as STO updater it takes years to update....

Ditto. According to PingPlotter, the high ping rate starts at 195.16.161.58, somewhere in Frankfurt near the datacenter. Everything up until that point is fine (telenor and tinet).

It's like being on Lag Hill on an ITF with out the Romans running around for me , had to give up for tonight. That and i can't actually seem to get back in the game to announce i'm giving up for the night

And now I can't log in to my master account to see the reply to my ticket on the matter.

I think problem is NOT in our ISPs, but in the EU servers... lag has got worse in the last couple of weeks, I noticed that it took me more time than usual my launcher to connect, more "Lost connection to mapserver" then in the last 5-6 months, or selecting the server, even powers activation cooldown longer, and even last Sunday or last night I thought it was because of the RWZ raids I was in, but tonight it was simply awful, "Connecting" reaching number 3 or 4, almost unplayable lag, etc etc. Besides I was quite tired, I simply gave up playing after an hour because of that.

Besides, just logged out about 15 minutes ago and downloader is stuck since then at 55.1M/884M.

Ah well, seems it got sorted. For some reason, I received an email replying to my petition... which was addressed to all Aion players in response to mass complaints, since I never played Aion, I think it's weird.

Did anyone else get a similar reply? did Aion and City of Heroes get merged into same game and I am the only one who doesn't know?

Of course, it's more likely that it's multiple ISPs all over Europe that are suffering simultaneous system failures affecting only connections to the European CoH servers, while leaving all other connections unaffected, right after a maintenance of the previously mentioned CoH servers, and the appearance of a large file to download from them. My guess is, certain parts of the CoH server or network infrastructure are/were misbehaving and/or getting bottlenecked, but something present in multiples, meaning not all incoming connections had to go through the problem.
