  1. Perhaps "Work Around" or "Substitution" fit better. No matter what you prefer to call it, I think it is a terrific concept and IMHO how a crabspider should be built, but eh to each his own. I'm just thrilled that now I can have all 3 tiers of my spiders at perma, perma hasten, and my Melee, Ranged, AoE, Smash, and Lethal defenses at the soft cap. My Resistances aren't too bad either ranging from 40s-50s, with the exception of Psi being a miserable 5.3% lol. I personally can't wait to run this build. Also Plainguy, what server do you play on? I play on Virtue. If you're on Virtue too, hit me up and we'll team up together.
  2. No No. Dominion of Arachnos & Spider's Bite are called ATOs http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/ATO .   3. Glad you like the second build.
    I'm thinking about getting rid of Super Jump and putting Longfang back in somehow. I'm just waiting for the Spider's Bite set to come out though. I can live without a travel power and I can just use Ninja Run for in I trials. However, I can't live without having my Longfang, it's just too good of a power to pass up. Venom Grenade is left blank with 6 slots for when Spider's Bite does come out, which I plan to make all Superior. Melee, will once again be softcapped. I'm trying to calculate exactly where my Recovery will be in this build. All that I know, is if you go to the Temp Powers tab in Mid's and hit Endurance Increase, it gives 5% more Endurance which boosts this build's endurance from 3.87/sec to 4.05/sec. So, I'm guessing about 3.90-4.00/sec would be the endurance, seeming how a full set of Spider's Bite Superior gives 3.6% to maximum endurance. Here's what I'm thinking I'll do:

  5. Just let me say firstoff, that I've been looking for a build that combines both softcapped defenses, perma hasten, and perma pets for a long time now. And you, have nailed it. So kudos to you.
    Well, I monkied around with your build and I was able to soft cap: Melee, Ranged, AoE, Smash and Lethal. As you can see, I changed up some of your slotting to help your Recovery a little bit. I took out the 2 Soul Bounds in your Spiderlings and replaced them with Blood Mandates for the little bit of recovery there. I changed up the slotting for Serum. I made Suppression 5 Superior slots of DO set. I personally hate Frag Grenade because of the knockback that it does and subbed in Omega Maneuver. The only downsides of this build personally for me are: No Longfang and No Spring Attack. I can live without the Spring Attack, but I feel sort of gimped with no Longfang. Anyways, here is. I tried my best to get you more Recovery: Keep in mind, that the Spider's Bite set has yet to come out, so you might actually be able to help your endurance there as well.

  6. I like most of the set bonuses to be honest. However, the defense stuff is kind of junk for me, as I run a perma hasten/perma pets build and I'm not built defensively. My thinking is, I might be able to free up some slots from stuff maybe, but depending on how the numbers look with it slotted in Mid's when Mid's updates for it, I too might just go with the proc and put it into Venom Grenade and just slot Venom Grenade with 5 Posi and do the 6th slot as the SB proc. I might move some things around and attempt to get my ranged defense at least capped.

  10. In the latest version of Mid's, Support Core Embodiment is boosting all defenses by 12%, lol. If only this was the way things were supposed to work, I'd be close to softcap to all of my defenses, probably shy about 2-3%. By my estimation, most of my defenses with the correct 6% to all defenses, brings me up to 36.3% to most of my defenses and it looks like my ranged defense is actually over the softcap, sitting at 45.3%. I'm not sure if my understanding of how this slot works is right or not, but when you activate, isn't it supposed to grant everything that it says it does for only a 2 minute time period only? I've activated the power ingame and seen it still toggling for 20+ minutes. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the fact, that this power doesn't shut off after 2 minutes.

    Ok, how would you make my current build better? Keep in mind that I do love perma hasten and perma pets. As far as inefficiencies, I have to admit, I don't have a lot of defense and resistance in my build. Also, my pets all 3 tiers do not have any or a lot of defense and resistance, so yes, they do die a lot and since they're my main damage dealers, that is my main problem. But, as far as I see it currently, my perma hasten and all of my pets being perma kind of makes up for that...at least that's how I see it. I'm up for you showing me how to improve my current build.
  12. Hmm, let's see I'd start out by making sure that my toggles, particularly leadership and fighting are slotted with a good mix of endurance and defense. I'd take Cardiac Core Paragon for my Alpha to help with the endurance issues, but Agility Core Paragon might work too, if you're good on endurance usage and are looking to boost your recharge and defense a bit more. I'd also look to get Melee, Ranged, AoE, Smashing, and Lethal to at least 45% for softcapping. Oh and get your Smashing and Lethal Resistance as close to 45% as you can. Also for your Destiny slot, I'd take Rebirth Core Epiphany, since unlike a Crabspider, you don't have Serum to heal you. Here's what I'm looking to do for my crabspider's secondary build. It's not yet finished as I don't have the Spider's Bite set slotted yet. As for a Hybrid Slot? I really haven't decided just yet as to which would be best. And I might change some slotting. But, it'll give you an idea of slotting and power selection:

  13. Heyas Fellow Crabspider Peoples:

    I'm just looking for some advice on which T4 Hybrid slot would be best on a crabbermind built crabspider. Ideally, I'm looking for the best T4 out of all 4 options, kind of like Trilby said he/she was doing. Problem is, I have no idea which is the best when it comes to Assault, Melee, and Control. I crafted and slotted Support Core Embodiment, because it looked better than the Radial Embodiment...am I wrong?

    I'm looking for something that will work for just plain missioning but like I said I want the best of the other 3 slots that way, when on a league, I can just swap out to easily meet the requests of the leader. Any advice on the other 3 mentioned above is greatly appreciated thank you.   14. My experience with a bane vs. crabspider was one where I was still using SOs on both of them...think I 12ish. My bane would get mezzed to crud and back in ITF when Rommy would rez, but when I played my crab, Rommy didn't mezz her any when he'd rez. I'm not sure why either. But to me, a crabspider is like a Timex watch, they can take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. However, I have not experienced playing an IO'd and incarnated bane build. But, my secondary build on my crabspider will be made into one.

    I was thinking the same thing actually. I was just wondering for each of those about whether or not you're going core or radial with which ones. I think having each will be nice for different trials to meet the needs required.

    What server do you currently play your crabspider on RockShock? I play on Virtue. I think it'd be interesting to see how your crabspider plays in missions.

    As for the Mu thing. If you like and it works for you, then that is all that matters. Afterall, you're the one that is playing the toon. Besides, you can tell people, that it is how your spider kills the food he eats, for rp purposes. Or maybe your spider got hit by lightning and now how has the power to use electricity.

    My only question is, what are you going to take for your lvl 32 slot?

    Yeah, I totally agree with you anonymoose. I try and run tip missions, SSAs, and I trials whenever I'm on. Heck, I even try to catch WST runs. I've gotten both my Gladiator's Armor and my Shield Wall, by doing I trials. Come to think of it, I even got my set of Armageddon by doing I trials. LoTG 7.5%s are easy to get. Just do I trials till you get to 32 E merits, go to Ouroboros and cash them in to Emperyian Michael.

    In my honest opinion, decking out builds has gotten easier. I mean we have tip missions, SSAs, WST, I trials, heck some people play AE still and use their tickets to buy recipes and sell them on the BM for infamy, I've gotten a few good drops from doing that.

    In your defense though, you sound like a really casual gamer with not a whole lot of time on your hands?

    First of all, I recommend you familiarize yourself with the wonders of Crab Spiders by reading a guide! Lobster's Guide to Crabbing is somewhat dated but it's quite detailed and comprehensive.



    1. The lowest defenses, you've ever seen on a crab spider...I'm slotted for pure recharge and I hover at about 30.3% for most defenses and 39.3% for ranged. But then again, all of my IOs are +1x5'd with enhancement boosters. I run T4 Musculature Radial, and T4 Diamagnetic Radial. But really my numbers are from taking the powers mentioned to always take in comment #3, lol.

    2. I absolutely love Lobster's Guide to Crabbing. His High Recharge/Perma Pets build, was the inspiration for my own crabspider ArachniBlast. Granted, I bankrupted my other 6 50s to build it, and I'm still refining it, as new stuff like the ATO sets come out and such. I'm not tanky by a long shot, but I do really nice DPS with my pets. I'm able to solo most normal missions on +4 =4, and some stuff on +4 =8 even, it just depends what I'm fighting. Longbow and Nemesis on +4 =8? Well...wardens kill me and I'm like an hor dourve for Nemesis Fake Nems and Warhulks. Come to think of it, most PPD kill me too. I like to think of myself as an 8 legged buzzsaw really. But really, strategy is key with playing any build...especially one that isn't softcapped defensively.

    3. I totally agree with Trilby and Two Dollar, never ever skip Combat Training Defensive, Tactical Training Maneuvers, Tactical Training Assault, Tactical Training Leadership, and Serum. This is why you're so low in numbers defensively. If anything, Combat Training Offensive and Wolf Spider Armor are skippable in the crab secondary set. But if you're still having trouble reaching a softcap for say Smash and Lethal resistance, then yeah I'd pick up Wolf Spider Armor, even though it's the same as your Crab Armor...I like to think of it as an extra layer of resistance.

    Has anyone bought and tried the new Panther Stealth that just came out on the Paragon Market? If so, how is it for a travel power? Does it allow you to jump or anything or is it just purely stealth? I was thinking of putting it on my Claws/Ninjitsu stalker for concept purposes.

    I have a lvl 50 Claws/Ninjitsu stalker (Prowling Pantheress), that has been sitting on the shelf for years now, that I'd love to play once again. Problem? Well, I'm not sure on how to slot her for I 23 now, and I don't know which powers are must haves and which are trash. I tried to come up with a build, following some builds that I saw on here, but I'm just having a *expletive* of a time doing so. I'm looking for softcapped Smash, Lethal, Melee, Ranged, and AoE defenses, and at least good Smash and Lethal Resistance. I'm also looking for good recovery and good regen (I like them to be pretty much even), and I'm looking for good endurance usage, something that isn't an endurance hog. Infamy isn't an issue, so Purples, PvP IOs, and ATOs are welcome in this build. I also want to mention, that I'd love for this build to be able to solo AVs and Pylons as well...if the combo is capable of doing so. So here is, my strange build, that is in need of guidance and repair. I don't much care for Swipe, Caltrops, Smoke Flash, Blinding Power, and I heard and think that Kuji in Retsu is pointless in a build that is already softcapped for defenses, or am I wrong? Besides, I hate powers that have an endurance crash after you use them. I went with fighting pool and leadership pools for the defense and resistance. Also, I'm not sure if I want to keep Shockwave or not (not crazy about powers that do knockback, as I hate chasing down stuff). I was thinking of maybe putting Spring Attack in place of it. Only concern? Does Spring Attack break hide, and how weird would my attack chain be with it? EDIT: I'M LOOKING TO USE THE NEW PANTHER STEAL POWER FOR MY TRAVEL POWER, FOR CONCEPT.

    Personally, I hate Frag Grenade, because of the knockback that it does. Nothing sucks worse than using it to help kill off Adds, only to be yelled at, because you made the tank lose aggro, because you knocked their target back. A good solo power...if you don't mind chasing down what you knocked back from yourself. But on a team? You'll tick off the tank because now they have to chase down their target again and retaunt.

    I too went with Mace Mastery, mainly for theme though. I took Web Envelope (nice immob), Shatter Armor (nice melee "you got too close now I have to smack you in the face" power), and Summon Blaster (6 spiders running around is fun). Summon Blaster, is perma in the build that I run currently.

    Did you choose Leviathan for theme? I could see if you were like a SpiderCat toon, where puking up fish and throwing fish would be rather amusing.

  24. It doesn't seem to do it for the endurance as much as it does it for the HP. I always see +54 above my head, I never have seen +7.5. Good to know that it does indeed proc for both.
  25. I will have to see when I play ArachniBlast again here tomorrow night after work. I'll have to turn on my combat log to see. I can honestly say that I see it proc a lot for the HP mainly when slotted into Health. I'll let you know what I find out. I looked at it in Mids and it says 7.5% endurance, but it doesn't state whether or not in PvE and/or PvP situations. It just says a 20% chance just like the HP part. I'm thinking it's maybe more so random than the HP part. But then again, that's an assumption, and you know what happens when you assume
