Several people have spoken a lot of sense above, sounds like fire/shield for a money no object build will fit the OP's requirements.

Has anybody done MA/DA, I can imagine that being a bit of a nightmare, particularly on SOs.
Broadsword isn't low on the DPS list unless you're simply going by saturated Pylon killing, in which case Katana is better by a small margin due to faster recharge. That said, both are around 3rd in terms of single target DPS with Broadsword having higher spike DPS than Katana...which is actually better for normal PvE since it doesn't matter how fast Katana recharges if Broadsword kills a target in one shot and the main attacks are back up for the next target.

DM is the best single target for AV's and GM's and the like, but Broadsword is quite respectable with its massive single target damage and moderate AoE abilities, even moreso when paired with Shield, arguably the best secondary for it. And best of all? KATANA CAN'T TAKE SHIELD. Muwahahahaha.
  2. The line between Natural and Tech can be a fine one. The best example is probably Batman. Is he Natural, due to all his training, skills, and experience, or is he Tech due to his "super power" being enough money to fund his wonderful toys?

Personally, I see most SoA as being combination Natural/Tech, but the game doesn't support that so they went with the origin that covers the most aspects. Yes, they have Tech, but it's only to back up the massive training they all go through. Like Batman.
  3. Most of the APP's are fun and good for any blaster, but I personally like Force Mastery due to Force of Nature, Munitions Mastery due to Surveillance and LRM Rocket, and Electrical Mastery due to Shocking Bolt, Charged Armor, and Surge of Power.
  4. Gonna throw in my .02$'s and suggest Fire/Energy. It's what I've played since the start, and Energy is a HUGE boost for Fire's damage. Combined with Fire as a primary, you have Aim AND Build Up, Boost Range, Conserve Power, and Power Boost to increase the damage and effectiveness of your tasty AoE attacks. You get the awesome Power Thrust which helps you keep enemies controlled and at range, and if you don't go a Blapper route you have quite a few power slots open for PP's and your APP. If you DO go Blapper, you have the wonderful Total Focus.

This combo lets you dish out incredible amounts of damage for both AoE and single target, and for farming it's wonderful, though not as mindlessly easy as a Fire/Kin troller.
  5. I'm really glad it goes off in Footstomp, I really am. Now if Footstomp was Shield Charge, in which the proc works outside of AE and not in, then it'd relate to my problem. Still, I'm happy you can use it in a non pseudo-pet power
  6. It works in SC out of AE is my point. I monitor recharge and the +100 shows up when it procs outside AE. In AE it never procs is the problem. Maybe it's just some weird issue with procs and pseudo-pets in AE. Ah well.
  7. Heh, not all PvP IO's cost a ton, plus I wouldn't waste a respec just to get a 500k FF IO out.

That said, I've bugged the proc problem before, I was mostly seeing if anyone else had run into problems here, and taking a chance that a redname would pop in and explain what was up.
  8. True, I should have said procs are SUPPOSED to work no matter what level. Glad to see I'm not the only one noticing that this proc doesn't work right. I can see it not working when exemped down simply because a +100% recharge, even for a few seconds, is insane at low levels, but not working at all in AE just annoys me. Ah well, time to take it out and replace it with the PvP -20% Res proc.
  9. Level 50 IO, level 50 mission.

And procs work no matter what level you may exemp down or up to.
  10. I have this proc slotted in Shield Charge, and outside of AE it works quite often due to having the chance to proc for each target of the charge. However, in an AE mission this will NEVER proc. Ever. It doesn't show up in the combat log, it doesn't show up in the monitored recharge rate, nothing. Outside AE it shows up no problem. Is this meant to be the way it works? At least one of my Performance Shifter Chance for +End works in AE because it shows up in the combat log(though I don't know whether the one in Health or the one in Physical Perfection is proccing), so it seems odd the FF proc doesn't work.
  11. ATI Radeon 5850. It's usually around 300 and works very well for a mid-range card.
  12. NCsoft owes you nothing for problems with the servers. It's in the EULA and TOS you agreed to. That said, people seem to think that they're sitting around purposely letting Servers crash and stay down just to annoy the player base...and I'm pretty sure that's not true. So rather than complain and they demand free stuff, accept that things happen, and that they're working to fix it because, you know, leaving the server down is just soooooo good for their Customer Service, right?

Seriously, when your car breaks down or a hurricane interrupts power, do you start complaining and demanding compensation from the dealer or the utility?
  13. Nice set, though I personally dislike all melee sets put onto a ranged AT. Feels more Scrappery/Brutey/Tankey to me.

Oh Arcanaville, if only you had a picture I could use in a Demotivational with that wonderful comment of yours! You could be the new "I can haz cheezburgr?" sensation! ^_-
  15. The answer to all these problems is simple, and one I've suggested for any game I've played where people dislike something being better or worse than something else:

Make a single AT called "Everythinger" and merely allow it to have different costume customization, yet identical powers and slotting to every OTHER "Everythinger". Problem solved. If everybody is playing an absolutely identical character, powerwise, then nobody can ever say that one character build or AT is superior to another, it all comes down to the skill of the player.

Until that happens, and without saying what side of the "Shields need to be NERFED, FA needs to be BUFFED" discussion I'm on, I'll just point out that no matter what someone does, someone else is going to be unhappy. And even if everyone was identical, people would be upset about THAT, so it's still not a winning situation, merely one that keeps people from complaining a power set is too strong or weak.
  16. Shadow Ravenwolf, you're right, I apoligize for not knowing you were taking 20 minutes to reply.

However, the core of your and others complaint seems to boil down to some using the email system in extreme ways, and that the devs should change things so the tiny, TINY minority it may or may not affect is happy while everyone else can suffer. Still, I support the idea of making it so emails to yourself or your SG/VG don't count towards the limit, as do several others, and perhaps if enough suggest it the devs will listen. I do NOT want the cap remove completely, and in fact think it's way too high. I'd prefer a 50 limit, or even 20 per day from or to non-self/sg/vg targets.
  17. Shadow Ravenwolf, you seem to have missed every post that explained why the cap is a good idea.

That said, your examples make one wonder how you ever played the game at all until now. In addition, the biggest complaint comes from a person with two accounts who could, and probably DID before I17, have a character on from each account and PASS stuff that way...

Lastly, it's not a stealth anything as I already explained, there was just never any reason to hit the cap before.
  18. Let's start with a question, first:

Has the limit always been in place? I can't think of why anyone would send 150 emails before I17 who WASN'T a gold spammer, so it very well could have been in place from the start, thus not making this a stealth anything.

If it IS new, 150 is insanely reasonable, and keeps gold spammers from spamming thousands of accounts with one level 10.

Perhaps it seems unfair to the minority who would send so many emails at once. but you're quite literally the only person I've even seen MENTION this, TC. However, in the interests of peace, perhaps the Devs can make it so that any emails an account sends to itself don't count for the limit.
  19. Played in Pinnacle, FUN FUN time was had. We never got a Kronos though, which made us all sad pandas, but we did have krakens...krakii? Whatever the plural would be, and what we either dubbed as a murder of babbages or a gaggle of babbages. The only time the lag got REALLY bad was towards the end when we were all in SC and a Rikti invasion went off while we were fighting a half dozen av's/gm's.
  20. Here's hoping we get the Praetorian AV's attacking the zones like the normal Heroes and AVs' did last year. Fun fun fun. BAB's had a horrible tendency to spawn multiple GW's though :P

And if you had gotten an extra vet reward or two, you wouldn't be complaining. So be a bigger man and accept it rather than being a hypocrite, 'kay?
  22. But Bill, if everyone gignored everyone YOU gignored, we wouldn't have talks about lego's and cheese.
  23. People need to stop thinking of Pinnacle as not having enough people, and instead think of it as being a way to get to know everyone on the server. I may not know everyone yet, but I sure do know a large portion of them! And for the most part everyone is always great to hang with, even KOIS.

    Or at least tolerable ^_^
  24. Wait, are you seriously complaining about them wanting you to actually test a beta so you can be in beta testing? You're upset about them saying that being included in future beta testing is partially influenced by beta testing you're already IN?

    I...this...head exploding...

What do you think is expected of a beta tester? It's certainly not meant as a way to access content early, and by avoiding content that needs to be tested, you're not exactly fulfilling the role intended for a beta tester. It's like an aircraft pilot who refuses to fly.
  25. I'm gonna make a Tetragrammaton Cleric finally with dual pistols.
