  1. We definitely need some money sinks.

I've used the Markets less and less since Merits and tickets have arrived. These days, salvage and purple purchases are the only sinks, with salvage decreasing because of tickets making those available.

I've always been in favour of some sort of taxation system ingame, but it would be virtually impossible to maintain since players would just pass off their influence or blow it all on the Market. No one would want their stored goods or cached items subtracted from either.

Don't know how much an increase in Went's fees would help either. I already dislike having to pay fees for those transactions. I'd likely just use a third party to trade items or inf if the Went's fee got 'too high' (being entirely subjective as something I wouldn't be comfortable with on the spot.)

I do like the idea of an ingame Infamy-Influence-Infamy transfer, cross-server. I'd gladly use such a service.

Edit: I'd definitely use the charitable aspect.
$100 million = $1 or $5 to Locks for Love or Big Sisters/Brothers etc...I'd go for that!

    Playstyles

    I'm a 'leveller' and 'completist'.

I've done most of the old content so I want to see what the next power I get does. Plan out my builds in Mid's then IO and purple them out and move on to the next one. If I had fun on the way up I'll roll out the alt and do various tasks.

I RP with some of my SGs, PvP with another SG and farm when I'm bored.
I used to be an explorer but sadly, the game doesn't really lend itself much to exploring. You can find neat sections in zones but a lot of it is generic 'forest, city, hazard' stuff.
  3. Got a Trap of the Hunter off a Rikti boss during a Respec run the other day, curse you RNG!
  4. @Shotty Mario got it a week ago and has been unberable about the free travel power ever since.

    Imagination

    Excellent post Thor.

Thanks for the kind wishes; I am also in the long haul though I do reserve the right to complain about power changes/PvP/ anything that grinds my gears.

    Cheers!
  6. Only two Doms so far, MInd/Fire and Plant/Psi.

The best part of Doms is that they absolutely trivialize most of the content out there. In between AoEs, single target holds and confuses, damage bursting from the secondary, mobs just die very, very quickly.

Sure, you'll meet the occasional PToD that slows down your progress, but that's fair, considering the journey is otherwise made in relative safety.

Doms are just an awesome archetype. I'd roll more of them but I like 'permaing' as much of anything I can on my alts.
  7. Sure add me in, Force Bolt ftw I guess.
    @Neuronia
  8. A game-altering resource.

Took me and my friends a while to get used to it but it's second nature to plan out builds on Mid's, sets and all.
Incredible work that is a seamless addition to the game.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Devs used it at times.

Take care Mids and you have our gratitude.
  9. Hmmm...for stuff like that post on your server forums, try your global channels and such.

For player profiles, you can thumb through various posters or try your luck with Myspace, CoHFaces (?) and so on.

    Good luck!

And here at the Olympic Irony finals, the judges are about rea...yes, yes, there they are...9.6, 9.8, 9.5...and a 4.3 from the Rumanian judge...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Canadian judge gives a 7.0. Good effort but too transparent.

Yeah, I've been spending a lot of time in the zones ane lol me trying to do damage on anything.

Travel Suppression is probably the thing I'd revert first, along with the Hold system. Oh and Diminishing Returns.

It's just jarring being in Dom and actually being held or Break Frees not doing...anything of value. It is basically just Damage-Damage-Damage-Evade a bit-Damage-Damage!

I miss the days when teams would carry and Emp or Kin and a few damage dealers and evasion or such would actually matter.

Oh, and I don't [censored] much about stuff but ffs lower the holds on the PvE mobs in those zones or scale them and their damage down to PvP mods.

I dunno, I still have fun with the dUmbies win or lose but...a lot of the joy and exhiliration is just pffft...gone.

  12. Neuronia

    PVP FIRE/KIN!!!!

It's ok in zones. You might be able to End drain them then damage them down to 0.

Won't be as good in Arena or team settings.
  13. I can start the Friday MoSTFs again around June, probably mid-June. Will be at 9:30 p.m. Eastern.
  14. Yeah, those Possessed Scientists (if it's the same map I'm thinking of) were piss poor dropwise.

There is a certain post-40 mission that is chock full of good drops. Friend of mine runs it and got two Respecs, two purples, various commons and uncommon IOs as well, good times.
  15. Hello Misho, thanks for your time and reviews.

Have a short one here for you with no EBs/AVs if you have time.

Arc Name:A Death in the Gish
    Arc ID: 168760
    Morality: Heroic
    Faction: Skulls, Vahzilok
    Creator Global/Forum Name: Neuronia/@Neuronia
    Difficulty Level: Easy
    Length: Short (3 missions)
Synopsis: A lowbie mission arc about Kings Row. Caps at level 14.
Estimated Time to Play: 10-15 minutes
Link to More Details or Feedback: Just PM me or global me.

PLEASE everyone, please remember to play one of the previously nominated arcs and give an opinion on it before voting on another. (*Zube looks sideways at his good friend Neuronia*) Part of the whole idea behind this thread is to get more plays for worthy story arcs. And to give additional feedback for the authors.

<-- repeat of emotocon to show that friendly reminder is being kept friendly.

I'll cook supper for you Sunday, BBQ Beef good for ya?

    Anyway, I ran this one:

Arc Name: Out of the gutters
    Arc ID: 68054
    Faction: Villainous
    Creator: @Madcat 88
    Difficulty levels Easy - Medium.

Found it quite enjoyable. At the moment the first mission autocompletes, but the author notes this in the briefing.
The map choices were nice as were the mobs and the ally.
Fluid writing and nothing idiotic about the situation either.

    Gave it 4 stars.
  17. Umm, wow.

Does someone have your account info and maybe gifted you with them?
    Otherwise that sounds very cool.

    Intro to PvP?

    Hey no problem bud.

There was a little hiccup in Siren's...told them to go into rest to avoid TP Foe and it happened just outside the hospital, not inside...but otherwise we had fun heh.
  19. Before I vote

    [rant]
I don't care who else gets Dev's Choice as long as I can get extra slots somehow. If they want to limit it to one extra slot per person, fine. They did say you could potentially get unlimited slots in a roundabout way though (Why would they limit a DC winner to only one slot), so that does not seem to be a concern. Should not be one out of every 1,000 people that get an extra slot if that.

Once and Future King or whichever got an extra slot, that's approx. 1 out of what, 130,000 arcs? MORE SLOTS PLZ KTHXBYE. [/rant]

Guess I'll throw Death to Disco out there. Simply hilarious stuff with Jimmy Carter being brainwashed and changing the national anthem to a disco beat. Pretty short with nice custom mobs as well. Not a Shakespeare play but very fun.
  20. Remember one of the VORI guys telling me Rad Blast + Proc was killer.

Kurgain was nuts on his Elec/Therm.

Fire Blast seems to have fallen out of favour.

    What's the goal here?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's competition and a break from the mind-numbing PvE grind.

While purples etc. definitely increase performance, there is a twitch element (well, - travel suppression I guess ) where you do need good reaction times to succeed.

Overall, it's the element of unpredictability. If I load into a map of Hellions, I know they are just going to em batsmash until I get into their attack radius. Against another player...are they going to stay to attack, pop inspires, have backup, fly away, TP Foe you to a friend and so on.

It's just more fun than PvE. There are also mini-games for powers if you want/need those as well.

Even in its current atrophied state, PvP is still a large reason for me to stick around.

but it also doesn't help that noone offers anything up to them on reasonings for what the saw.

    [/ QUOTE ]

While other parts of your post were wrong, this part in particular stuck out.

The devs were invited MANY times to join test teams on vent for full explanations of what happens during a match.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Freaking right they were.

Castle even sat in on a Paragon Elite spike vs. evasion in the day. I think Renegades and OS offered to have them on their vent as well. The best we got was Lighthouse/EX having a meeting with PvPers on what was needed/what was going on.

It's like...we were playing a game by the rules they gave us with the best tools, but they didn't like us playing such a narrow subset of the game so they went KABLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOIEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and now everything is vanilla.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Ah, but Frost, you don't see that they ARE Munchkins here. Because this game has PvP zones instead of PvP everywhere, they compete with others by having more "stuff" and more "awesome" characters than others. They aren't doing it just for them... if this was a single player game, they would have left a long time ago, because there is no one to show their massive E-Peen to.

There are actually examples of that in a few threads that I have posted in recently, people literally admitting that they play to have "better stuff" and "better toons" than others. That is their sole motivation by their own admission.

They aren't Self-Actualizing like in Maslow's Pyramid. They are just petty and get their kicks by showing off "stuff".

    That's their PvP in a non-PvP game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Nah.

It's more that most of us that are remaining see the PvE game as mind-numbingly easy. Human opponents offer unpredictability and very quick reaction times.

Sure, there are ratings in the ladder and there is some accompanying ribbing but no one takes it that seriously.

To me, the PvE game got a little stale about the time I got my 8th or 9th level 50. Architect Entertainment is doing a great deal to improve this at least.

PvP in its current crippled, slowed state, is at least somewhat fun. The Devs aren't likely to roll back any of the changes though, since they feel they were necessary so that there wasn't a stratified game (not that people couldn't join or try out for Arena test teams in the old days anyway...) as there existed previously.

    Intro to PvP?

Just /t @Neuronia when you're on and I'll answer stuff.

If you have toons on Infinity or Pinnacle or Champion I can hit the Arena with you.

Edit: I have an unaccoalded, un-IOd 41 Rad/Ice on Freedom and precious little on Liberty, but just /t me and we can talk I guess.
