Redside Drops going down?

Heyo. I enjoy running a couple of missions repeatedly on my brute. You know the ones. I don't need to tell you. Anyway, I enjoy mass slaughtering Nemmies and possessed scientists with my mace/elec brute. Really really enjoy it. Well, let's just say, they haven't been giving up their goods no matter how hard I hit them with crowd control.

I go in with an empty inventory, and come out maaaaybeee.... with 3 common IO recipes and 10 pieces of salvage per run (roughly 200 baddies per run)

Any idea what gives? I used to come out with a full inventory after 2 runs of either map. I take on the risk of mass slaughtering nemmies *even with a res based set stacked, colonel veng HURTS* and possessed scientists *the enemy generator gave me ice and grav/kin scientists* it's a very real risk

I take the risk on I should get the "reward" I ENJOY slaughtering them I really do. I giggle insanely as the "crunch" of crowd control hits the testicular region of the Nemesis army! lol

possesed scientists are odd. they seem to have static drop rates as compared to other groups (you always get salvage from the first spawn)

Yeah, those Possessed Scientists (if it's the same map I'm thinking of) were piss poor dropwise.

There is a certain post-40 mission that is chock full of good drops. Friend of mine runs it and got two Respecs, two purples, various commons and uncommon IOs as well, good times.

The possessed scientist map was bugged last year to give repeatable drops. pohsyb fixed it in issue 12.5. Perhaps it's possible that i13 or i14 re-introduced that bug? The hallmark was that you would always get a set sequence of drops from the map, of a given type (salvage vs. insp etc) but of varying specifics (nevermelting ice one run, spell scroll the next, but always a salvage at that position).

It's not just the scientist map, it's also that big Nemmie map from Black Scorpion. You know the one. One with over 200 Nemmies all crowded together. I go into that, used to get full within 2, 3 runs tops, now I'm lucky to get 3 common IO recipes and a handful of common salvage per run.

My elec/Kin needs purples to be permahastened without stacking 4 siphon speeds....I refuse to fork out over 100mil a piece when I have to perfectly good maps that pose an awful lot of risk, for very little reward. (Stacked Colonel veng hurts lots even on a resist based toon)

Yeah,I agree with you.Something has changed.I run the platform often and the drops are abysmal lately.Makes me sad,sad,sad.
I really like doing that map....die,nems die!

OK, math time (I'm really rusty on this.) I seem to remember that it took about 200 Banished Pantheon zombies to get one Luck Charm. (I may misremember that...) Which works out to 100 minions to get 6 salvage [BanPan at that level were 50/50 low and medium.] So if you do 200 badguys, including misc. lieuts and whatnot, you should be between 12 and 24 salvage on average. I don't remember the numbers on common IO's.

If there was a bug where, say, lieuts drop like minions now, that might explain it. Maybe. I dunno.

Nemesis Platform, Black scorpion map.

On average: I dunno, each mob breaks the agro cap that's for sure, and I know there's between 3-4lts per mob (stacking veng as they die) I know I agro a good 30 baddies per herd. I do that about 7-8 times per map reset.

There are two bosses, a warhulk and a fake nem.

as I said, two runs used to fill me up. 52 salvage and all my recipe slots. or darn near fill me up.

I'm lucky to get 3 common IO recipes and maybe 6 salvage per run of that map now.

I hear you there. I have run about 6 ITF's and 4 LGTF's in the last week, and on each one I am lucky to get more than 2 Set recipes, 4-6 common recipes, and 30 salvage. Of course, I am running with a team of 6-8 instead of solo, but it still seems lower than it used to be.

I haven't run any traditional farming maps since i13 went live, but I can fire one up and check it out.

McD: I've played 2 hours straight at high speed on an 8-person team and ended the night with ZERO recipes. And that was in issues 9-12, so what you're seeing might just be the "Divide by eight" effect.

If there's a bug, it would show under the solo/farming conditions. Someone around here has logs of everything they do going back a long time... I don't remember who, though. Otherwise you could try HeroStats for a three-hour-ish run and see what you get.

I haven't noticed anything unusual on the Cim wall, which is the only farming I've done lately.

I haven't been farming lately, but my baby brute has gotten about the # of IO recipes I'd expect at his level (14 right now).

I'll peel the Goat away from his purple vigil on the Black Market and do a couple of runs tonight.
