Why I love my Doms.

Grats! Sounds like you had a lot of fun.
Yes, even though I don't have ahigh level plant dom (other doms are 50) I think seeds of confusion is amazing.
I have to admit that when Lorenze Ansoldo gives my the kill scrapper misssion, I tend to just buy a bunch of reds and purples with him (regardless of what AT I am playing) and go to town against large groups of them. Cheating, yes, but so what?
"Hi, my name is Ail. I make people sick."
A partial selection from my 50's on Freedom: Ail = Ice/Traps, Luck = Street Justice/Super Reflexes Stalker, Mist = Bane, Pixy = Trick Arrow/Archery, Pure = Gravity/Energy, Smoke = Fire/Fire Dominator
Don't get me started on Seeds of Confusion. No other primary is nearly as effective.
lv35 Earth/Fire
lv34 Mind/Psi
lv28 Mind/Ice
love all three, should really play them more though...damn altitis.
L50 Mind/Energy. Mass Hypnosis and Mesmerize are both awesome undervalued powers. I love Total Focus' animation.
L50 Plant/Thorn. He's a walking DoT.
l41 Fire/Fire. Parked in anticipation of the new changes. He's gunna be soft-capped ranged, I think, and use Fire Cages to tank.
L1 Mind/Elec. Waiting for the changes. And his name is awesome, which is why I wish people would stop laughing at it D:
I had the name before. They laughed at it back then too. As I recall /you/ laughed at it!
Winner of Players' Choice Best Villainous Arc 2010: Fear and Loathing on Striga; ID #350522
I probably did. I'm an artist, that gives me total leeway to be a hypocrite.
WOOOT WOOOT congradulations, now that's the Dom I'm talking about. Here have a drink, um. . just ignore the floaty bits.
I've been doing Oroboros missions and I just had a similar experience.
I'm playing at tier 4 and not only does my pull go terribly, just as I'm trying to control 3 minions (orange) and two luetenants (red) the unexpected patrol starts creeping up on me and will see me in moments. The controls I have availible at that level are, mesmorize, domination and confuse, all single target. In other words, oh dear gods, I stepped in it.
I pop a medium purple and red and hit Domination. It was a rediculous fight controling as soon as the controls came up. Trying to watch to make sure the confused ones didn't hit the sleeping ones. Throwing holds around where nessisary and at the same time trying to finish off the week. Well, I won and as it began to sink in that I was still standing I started thinking "I remember why I love this AT, fights like this."
Congrats again, your fight sounds like amazing fun.

[/ QUOTE ]One thing you want to keep in mind is that the confused critters wont hit the sleeping ones unless there is nothing else to attack or they use some sort of aoe that accidently hits a sleeping critter. Thats one of the joys of confuse and mezmerize. You can literally control the npcs like this.
Bump and Grind Bane/SoA
Kenja No Ishi Earth/Empathy Controller
Legendary Sannin Ninja/Pain Mastermind
Entoxicated Ninja/PSN Mastermind
Ninja Ryukenden Kat/WP Scrapper
Hellish Thoughts Fire/PSI Dominator
Thank You Devs for Merits!!!!
Only two Doms so far, MInd/Fire and Plant/Psi.
The best part of Doms is that they absolutely trivialize most of the content out there. In between AoEs, single target holds and confuses, damage bursting from the secondary, mobs just die very, very quickly.
Sure, you'll meet the occasional PToD that slows down your progress, but that's fair, considering the journey is otherwise made in relative safety.
Doms are just an awesome archetype. I'd roll more of them but I like 'permaing' as much of anything I can on my alts.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!
168760: A Death in the Gish. 3 missions, 1-14. Easy to solo.
Infinity Villains
Champion, Pinnacle, Virtue Heroes
Yeah, Dominators are among my favourites, and I swear I have more "OMG..." moments with these. Like deciding to start cranking up difficulty at around level 3 for my Mind/Fire after taking on large spawns down on the beach by the Mercy fort with kalinda. (What is that, 10:1, 12:1 odds?)
Just had another one of those moments.
Scrapyard's followers.
So I'm talking to my contact (Vince Dubrowski) on my 25 Plant/Thorn dom. Not IO'd up or anything, not even fully SO'd. As I'm doing so, I see the crowd of Scrapyarders going by. All conning from white to orange to me.
Now, remembering what they did to my poor Masterminds at that level, the first reaction at these massive odds is to go the other way. After all, demolitionists *suck,* thank you. But... this isn't my Mastermind. This is the Plant/Thorn I've been having so much fun with. Check my kill badges - not even halfway on the 100 scrapyarders one.
Run up. Seeds - Roots - Fling Thorns, watch the carnage. Dodge a few demo's, jump back, fling more thorns and run from Scrapyard (who's now chasing me.)
Shake Scrappy, grab some lucks. Down them. Head back. Scrapyard's off playing with some Cage guards, his followers are in the industrial area on that one platform. Hop over - seeds - roots - thorns, Vines on the ones that I missed in the cone.
Several minutes later, both kill badges, so that's at least 150 scrapyarders. No deaths... until I mention it to an SG mate and get distracted. Rez, more lucks, rinse, repeat for at least another five minutes (it seems)
So, what was Statesman's old comment... three minions should equal one hero? >.> Think I beat that by 100x before Scrappy finally despawned and his followers ran off. (Of course, had I not had the lucks...)
Only after did I think I should've been demorecording. But I don't think I'd have pulled that off solo on another AT to that degree.
I absolutely *love* my doms.
Edit:
Even more fun with Creepers. Muahahah...
