4hrs... hmm...
That might be worth the billion or so to assemble a Dr. Q team. =) -
I give this film a serious meh. Ok, it was a good film. A really good film, but unfortunatly it fell into the Diablo 2 trap. For this youth, Diablo 2 was hyped beyond belief. Everyone spewed accolades for it before anyone actually played it. And while it was a really good game, there was no way it was gonna live up to the media hype around it. Avatar is the same thing. If it had just been brought to my attention the normal way, with a smattering of good and bad reviews, I probably would have been blown away by it, but the bar was set so high before evening slapping down $8, it was already down 0-2 in the bottom of the ninth. And of cource the lack of any sort of meaningful plot hurt. Terminator 2 pulled off the ground breaking effects, deep plot, and meaningful characters far better than Avatar did. 2 out of the 3 ain't bad.... or so Meat Loaf told me.

RP is pretty minimal here.
Quite a few themed SG/VGs, but not much RP. Not even from the Fantastic Fur. -
Its real easy.
Set yourself with 3 LB Wardens and as much filler as you can (usually 3 100's and a 200).
Other side doesnt matter.
Load arena match.
Leave computer running.
Get healing.
Thats it. No real magic to it.
You can try to work it a little using a Single shivan attacking one the Wardens, but it doesnt really gain much. -
We'll leave the light on for ya if....er when you decide to come back.
Or at least during the next "free" weekend. =)
best wishes to ya on your future endeavors.

We finished 1:11 on the nose. Had a few deaths when we got arrogent and split up, but we were invincible as a group. Yeah Hopkins is a wuss, but "tanking" him with an emp defender was fun.
-
not to raise more conflicts or anything, but Dec 19th is the RedSide Hami Raid. (we've been using the 3rd saturday of the month).
-
Quote:Hate to break it to ya, but we were all outsiders at one point. At some point along the way you can choose to be included or excluded. It can be a bit intimidating, but it doesn't take much to lead up a TF or 2. SGs are glorified personal storage bins right now, so focus on getting invites to channels instead as they are great ways to network.I think the general point is, the server seems more dead to the average player who exists outside the cool kids clubs and in-game "famous" presonalities.
And dont go jumpin' on Cobalt and BMTs rules. I have my own issues with how the channel is run, but the fact is its a hell of a lot more useful with the current rules than it was as a free reign channel. -
This server is so dead that last night all I did was:
Unlock Midnighters for a bunch of people
Then run a Speedy MoITF (34 mins)
Then do the Hami Raid (much fun)
Then Renault SF (we so need a [Stick] temp power for the giant eye)
Then 2 more hero side TFs (because i could).
And there was an LGTF forming when I finally went to bed
Somewhere in there I did a bunch of crafting and socialized as well.
So dead... like a graveyard. -
Thats almost too late. Youll start losing east costers if we start at 12m local.
8pmP/11pE might be a better start time for Friday night.
Numbers will still vary wildly based on what people have for friday night plans, but you should be able to get sufficient numbers of key positions in that time frame. -
I have hockey the next 2 wednesday nights at 8pm, so unless its the Late Late Hami Raid, I'd have to pass as well.
-
i guess its a bit of the old addage... you get out what you put it.
I have no problems finding teams, TFs, SFs, Mo*Fs, badging teams.....
But then again Im active on both sides, helping with red side hami raids, Tanker Tuesday, Task Force Tuesday, etc.. None of it requires a huge time investment, just a couple of hours here and there, but word gets out and if I need a helping hand, people are there for me.
Im not saying you need to organize events, but participating in channels, showing up for events, etc.. shows that you are part of the community and the community is always happy to welcome new people into the mix.
Yes you can play this game solo, but its alot more fun with a team.
net -
That was a pretty successful Tanker Tuesday.
16 TF rolls (320 merits worth) were handed out. (out of 26 in the present pool)
Over 300M in raw cash. (of 620M)
LotG, Javelin Volley, Miracle, and Membrane HO. (of 10 IO/HOs)
The 3 top presents ((2)any IO from the Merit vendor and 100M) and the 2 bottom presents (Lump of Coal) went unclaimed. I was kinda hoping Fang would get the coal, but he walked away with 3 TF rolls (hax).
Not a bad start.
From there, 2 or 3 Sister Psyche teams formed up. All successful.
I had to step away from the TF'ing and led up the lowbie team. We went through 2 of the Winter Special event zones, a few police band missions, and got our butts handed to us by GW in the safeguard. 1 L50 and 7 sub 15 tanks just arent enough against an AV. Especially when someone triggers the bank before I can get in there and set up with a HVAS. Oh well. Many many levels were gained.
There was another team of 35+.
And Uman gathered up the stragglers.
5-6 Teams of all tankers. Can't complain about that.
Net -
Since it is Tomorrow, just a quickie on whats planned for TT "Classic"...
As we gather up on the wall as usual, SantaMouse will be there with a sack of goodies to hand out. 1 per person(global). Right now I've got 50 presents lined up, which should be enough for everyone.
I've got about 1000 merits in there (in the form of TF Rolls or Pick any IO recipe)
About 500M in raw cash.
And some 1B+ worth of crafted IOs (All 3 Healing Uniques, LoTG, BoTZ, Hecatomb....)
And some coal.
After that at 830pm, we are linking up with Task Force Tuesday to run Sister Psyche TF for those that want to and just regular whooping of those on the naughty list for those who arent up for a TF.
net -
We are also linking up with Task Force Tuesday this month.
The TF is Sister Psyche (level 20+).
So we will meet on the wall at 8pm(C)/9pm(E) for presents and team ups.
Sister Psyche teams will leave from IP around 830p(C)/930p(E). -
Its not so much cutting travel time, as it is cutting visibility. If someone sees you doing this they can easily disrupt you. If you find a hidden spot out of normal LoS, there is a much lower chance of getting disrupted.
-
Santa Mouse is on the loose with a sack full of goodies for all the tankers out there.
There's stacks of inf in there, free "TF" rolls, Miracles, LotGs, some purples, and of cource some coal.
Join the tankers on the wall in Kings Row near the IP gate on Dec 1st (8pm CST/9pm EST) for some early holiday cheer.

We failed.
Ill go ahead and take this one becuase it was the yellow taunters that failed.
Too many rookies asking not enough questions.
Not targeting right... not keeping EoEs up... taunting too close...
It ran the gambit tonight.
I cant stress theis enough for any hami raid... ASK QUESTIONS.
Lots of them. Beforehand.
I give an overview, and when no one asks questions, I assume the overview is sufficient.
There is no such thing as a dumb q.. ok yes there are... but ask them anyways.
If you cant lock on through the lead for your assignment.. dont say Yes you have it locked when you dont.
If you need EoEs, speak up before the wave, not during.
Dont phone it in. Watch you insps for the blinking EoE. Pop another one then. If you miss an EoE, you will die fast.
Im just so pissed at myself for wasting everyone's time for 2hrs and nothing to show for it. -
Stop slotting attacks for damage pre-20s?
Im serious. Tanks get thier damage going in the 20s, right about the time SOs make them great. Early on, +8% or +16% damage on a low/moderate damage power isnt going to make that much of a difference. Changing those reds to blues can help quite a bit. Toggles are a different matter. First off, again +def/+res isnt that great pre-SOs and carving .21eps to .16eps (33% end redux) is really trivial compared to some slots in Punch. Punch is 5.2end 4s(1.2act) recharge. Dropping 33% end redux in there is 1.3 end reduction per use or if spammed, a .25eps reduction. Makes that .05 eps reduction in an armor seem even smaller.
Moral of the story:
Teach tanks to slot attacks for end redux, accuracy then damage in the early levels. Later on its not as important with Stamina and +end powers, but until those, it makes all the difference. -
Quote:Well my base rent is something like 4800 for a month.Actually it's more like someone gave you a penny or maybe a nickel.
So 250 is about 5% of that.
My house payment is $1800. 5% of that is $90.
So I guess my anology is wrong.
Its like someone gave you $100 and your snobbish because it wasn't $10,000. -
Its a gift.
A freebie.
Its like someone gave you $5 and you are all snobbish because it isnt $100.
Sheesh. -
IOs cap at 50.
HO/SO/DO/TOs can go to 53.
Id imagine it was easier to just code a single level cap for everything than to try to apply a different level cap for IOs vs HO/SO/DO/TO.
(added HO to the list) -
I think it ranks up there with GW's 100mag hold of death. Youll need more than 100mag protection to eat it. Most teams go with the high def and toHit debuffs to floor the chance of it hitting and then hoping he doesnt get lucky.

Quote:Therein lies the problem. I like to arena because its usually a small bunch of people I know. We are pretty well balanced in skill so the matches are actually interesting.to really learn pvp a more controlled enviorment helps alot. (cough arena cough) which everyone typically overlooks. dont get me wrong, its certainly possible to learn how to player a really good stalker in zones by trial and error, but due to low zone activities, generally lower skill level etc it will take alot longer.
But...... because of that we arent part of the larger PvP community. For PvP to thrive it needs to have the zone PvP be popular as a place where you can engage in a fight you at least have a chance at winning. Little pockets of arenaPvP wont grow zonePvP. Farming rooks for drops should not be part of the PvP community... but it is. Its hard to go from the winning side to the losing side, and there will always be imbalance in zone PvP, but a better effort to keep it from being a landslide is needed.
