    /regen?

A brute with QR at level 4 is my dream character.
  2. DM/Elec might be a good choice, too. Siphon Life covers a huge hole in elec, the damage aura adds up the AoE damage while you chop away at the foes, and it's got a good T9 godmode power. You'll be all but unkillable against anything throwing energy attacks your way, and if you fit in Tough, you'll have really good S/L resists also. There's also evidence that /elec is getting a huge buff come I16.

Plus you've got unlimited endurance with Power Sink and Dark Consumption.
  3. You might want to consider rad or storm. The /Rad toggles provide tons of debuffs, and freezing rain might be the all around best single debuff power in the game once you slot it with a -res IO.

Actually I'm not sure any other corr set provides as much all around debuffing as /rad. You've got -res -def -acc -speed -regen -dam and -end. You get +acc, dam, recovery, speed, status res and rech in Accelerate Metabolism. Plus you get a heal, a rez, and a nuke to use that piles on even MORE debuffing.

so my vote is for /rad.

Edit: Just noticed where you said you have only cold and traps available.

I guess if you want pure debuffing neither are perfect, as many of the powers in either set are either buffs/utility type stuff. There's plenty of argument as to whether or not /cold should take their shields, but I am of the opinion that they should always have them. They can only multiply your teams survival on top of your debuffs. /Traps is a tricky set that I hope gets some buffs soon. It's got decent debuffs but I wouldn't call them spectacular. Acid Mortar has a scatter effect and poison trap is a shadow of it's former self. It'll get the job done, but /cold definitely outperforms it. One argument in favor would be force field generator, though. extra defense and status protection for yourself and anyone else in the bubble.
  4. I like the new forum WAAAY better than the old one.

    Electric Armor

I might actually make a tank...
  6. I think the reason people shy away from taking Grant Cover is because the average team doesn't recognize the benefit. I think the intended usage, to draw people closer to you to get the PF buff, while they get buffed by GC, is flawed. My experiences is that people basically either don't understand the power, don't need it due to defenders/corrs/controllers/whatever supplying adequate damage mitigation, or don't even think to look at the melee guy as being the source of a good defense buff.

For that reason, I am trying to build my Fire/SD scrap to be totally self-sufficiant, with all of that extra stuff being a good icing on the cake. (and yeah I'm taking grant cover, but only to hold a LotG )
  7. Very nice, Ideon and Grae-Knight.

    IO on DB\WP

I'm no WP expert but typed defense, +HP, and +regen seem like a good place to start.
  9. I started on my 19 scrapper with about 8 million infamy.

I ended at level 50 and about 200 million in the bank on nothing but regular infamy gain and selling IOs I got exclusively from bronze rolls.
  10. Cool dudez! Check out what I just found!!

Can we PLEASE get those Origin pictures back on the character select screen? So much cooler than the ones we have now.
  11. we should post pix of our dudez

OMG THEY ARE SO BIG, I BORKED THE INTERNET
  12. Lucky me! Got the hecatomb triple and put it up on the market for 275 mill. Prices seem to be going between 200 and 300.

but 275 mill up there if anyone wants it. Get it fast 83 bidding and only MINE for sale!
  13. Thanks for the build Santorican. I've used some ideas I've gotten looking at the other builds and put together this one.

I dropped manuevers and OwtS, grabbed grant cover to hold a LotG that I took out of weave so I could get the 6th slot for the ranged defense. Switched the Crushing Impact in GFS for another ToD, moved some slots around from Health and True Grit and managed to work out something that I think fits the bill quite well!

  14. Thanks for the build. The thing I'm seeing in it that I'm worried about though is a redundant travel power to fit in the third set of Blessing, plus two full sets of obliteration. Those pretty much blow my budget out of the water. (figures I got like 3 Blessings from tickets and sold all of them for a very pretty penny).
  15. So I've put together a bit of a build for my Fire/SD scrapper I got to 50 this weekend. I was going to focus on my brute until I played this guy and realized how amazing he was once I hit 22. I just couldn't help blasting him to the level cap over the weekend, slicing down foe after foe. Anyway, I used some ideas from my brute and put this together. I'd like to somehow find a way to fit in hasten but I seem to have maxed out my pool choices. Here's how it looks right now.

  16. Slightly off topic, but I was reminded of a Grav troller I was playing with today. He barely did anything for the entire fight and had the habit to open the fight with Dimension shift, regardless of the fact that the team was steamrolling the enemies we were fighting. I politely asked the player not to use the power willy nilly because we were fully capable of fighting the mobs and it was difficult to tell which mobs were shifted and which ones weren't. I also explained that it's causing us to waste endurance and time swinging at foes we can't hit.

Regardless, and without saying a word for the entire mission, he continued to use dimension shift, only this time right as the spawns were right about to go down. I then saw his Nem staff and decided to check his vet status. 42 months. I came to the conclusion that someone was letting their kid play, or the guy was just messing with us.

The team repeatedly warned him to stop using D.Shift but he kept using it. Eventually he got kicked but our /kin was so frustrated she left the team also.

Not really relevant to the thread, but man that was annoying. I love doing a shield charge at the 400% damage cap only to see "Unaffected!" pop up over the heads of everything I was trying to kill.

    fm/sd and dm/sd

I just got my Fire/SD to level 50 today, with plans to IO him to the gills and now I'm seeing all this DM/SD stuff and thinking....

man that self heal would be nice.

Too bad double XP is over in a few hours.

My AR/Rad corruptor is very dependent on the slow effect to help line up damage cones and having it not work is incredibly frustrating. So in order to find out what was going on I did a lot of testing.

I did the testing at level 30 and tried using the ability on literally everything in sharkhead. I discovered that the slowing effect isn't even noticeable unless the targets are more than 5 levels UNDER my level. So, if I used it on a level 25, no slow effect. If I used it on a level 24, there is a very easily recognizable slow. It didn't matter what enemy it was: cage consortium, family, arachnos, circle of thorns, freak show, council.. anything.

It has to be bugged especially considering it works perfectly for other AT's. The slow component for corruptors at the moment is completely useless as it only works on greys beyond even the minimal experience gain. And yes, I have submitted bug reports on it several times.
This is pretty interesting. Someone with a /rad corr should try to confirm this info. Maybe a PM to Castle would get the ball moving if this is bugged.
  19. Stalkers need some kind of poison based attack set that isn't spines. Maybe some kind of poison blade that does a mix of lethal/toxic damage. I think an energy sword/dagger/knife type of powerset would be cool too.
  20. So I get this mission from Scirocco to go beat up Barracuda, who happens to be located on this longbow boat. I get to the mission and realize I forgot to lower my difficulty. I floated around with my Raptor pack until I found her standing there, talking smack.

She is an AV so I figure I'll just float on over and let her kill me so I can reset the mish on a lower diff. I notice she's kind of missing me a lot. What the heck! I pop a purple, summon my two Arachnobots and start blasting. Cycling my ST attacks with BU and Surveillance when they are up, I last a really long time! I had a decent number of purples, but no greens and only a few blues. I kept a purple going at all times, getting by on my regen alone.

I get her down to about 30% health before she gets lucky and nails me. I am absolutely convinced if I had some greens and more purples I could have gone the distance with her. This is on a build with nothing but some common IOs and SOs, and not anywhere near built for sustaining an AV battle.

She must be an easy AV, but either way, I was really impressed with what my huntsman was capable of against a single hard target. I usually just fight on teams and use my AoEs.

  23. I guess posting this right before the forums went down wasn't a very fantastic idea
