Quote:i do know all these things, but to me sprint is pointless because it doesnt enhance as much as ninja run, and im perfectly content with ninja runs speed with swift which costs less endSprint is first and foremost unsuppressed movement, which alone makes it worth using.
Sprint can hold a stealth IO or a Micro HO if you have full invis already.
Sprint can help you get to the all holy run speed cap.
Sprint can be used with Ninja Run if you're one of those people that doesn't care about speed.
im not gonna burn end on extra travel when the 1 travel is perfectly enough to get from A to B, i dont even use ninja run inside of mishs unless i know my toon can afford the end
super speed with 1 enhance already caps run speed and with the GvE jump pack i dont need to worry about height
i dont need it for slotting either because all my toons that want full invis get it through slotting powers i do actually use lol
i rather not be toggling something on/off constantly, its either always gonna be on or not at all, and ninja run may cost slightly more end but it enhances jump and run speed much more than sprint and i never use more than 1 travel power at a time so im not burning end on travel powers that dont help me in combat (except super speed)Quote:Did you know that you can turn Sprint off when you're in combat?
the ONLY time i have ever used sprint recently was pre i19 and my ill/cold needed a spec for a travel power to use in MoITFs since apparently ninja run is not useable even though its inherent, but since ive had a chance to respec that toon, sprint never sees the light of day anymore -
Quote:nope, i started normally on redside so i could like actually try to PL him some beforehand of the event instead of being locked inside praetoriaYou in Praetoria? My Ill/Rad will want teammates Saturday night.

I just started a Fire/Fire Dom not too long ago that I love, but he's a fairly easy soloer that I'll play when I feel like I think. Ill/Rad is proving easier to solo than Earth/Storm was, but I think I'll still have an easier time of soloing with him after level 18 and 32.
as of last night he is already past all the quick lvls and is sitting at lvl 32
i do have a bunch of low toons though (28-35) that i could take into praetorian and run mishs with you if your around -
good well oiled LRSF team can run it in 45 min, cuda takes around 1.5 hours minimum
answer to number 2 would be yes, defenders also can get the black scorpion temp, if you have neither mm or defender, its very unlikely you will beat reichsman unless you have a LOT of debuff and dmg -
if you want to have survivability and dont want to do the long way for scorp shield, i would go ice mastery
with ice mastery you get:
- the frozen shield (same def as scorp shield for smash/lethal, no energy def though)
- hibernate
- sleet (for some awesome aoe debuff)
- and as an option, ice storm for added mass aoe DoT

Quote:the archmages dont have AV hit points, all of the arch mages, as part of their resistance power, get 75% resistance to all dmgJustin Augustine because of the completely boring Circle "AVs" which are just regular mages with AV hit points. Yawn.
if you want to fight an annoying CoT AV, go to AE and put akarist in a mish and fight him as an AV, hes basically an AV with the arch mage 75% resist to all dmg -
im gonna plan on getting a mind/fire dom i started last week up to 50 so i can start IOing him out because i got a very awesome build planned
if that doesnt take too long i haave about 3 toons sitting at lvl 47 i will prolly just bump to 50 as well -
heres my build or earth/fire dom, its a little light on defense, but it works out fine because i can lock the baddies out and i have enormous dps with just blaze, rain of fire, fire breath and fire ball
i also dont have many issues with surviving because most of the mob usually dies before stalagmites wears off

no, and it was said in the above posts, and its been said pre GR too by the devs once you earn a badge you can never lose it
-
the pilot badge is a completely different badge from commuter
commuter is a heroside only day job (ie must be a hero or vigilante to earn it)
pilot is a villain only day job (must be villain or rogue to earn) -
i think its approximatly 1:1 conversion, but you have to take into account the fact that the enemy most likely can resist the -tohit and the -tohit is only applying to the baddies hit chance not all the baddies targeting you
-
Quote:sounds like theres a lot of bugs going on with this proc tooOh, um... those of you discussing slotting the proc in enemy-targeted powers...
I originally had it slotted in Life Drain. And it healed enemies. And granted them the endurance. I got zilch. So if you are going to slot it in an enemy-targeted self heal, have a respec on hand, just in case. Unless you want to use it to work on your healing badges (yes, healing enemies via this proc counts toward the badges). -
-
the end portion of this would prolly be nice when coupled with a performance shifter proc inside of the fitness powers
however, based on how little this actually makes a difference and the fact a theft of essence proc can work the same way in dark regeneration, the panacea proc is not worth it unless you want to supplement dark regeneration with both the panacea proc and theft of essence proc
basically, i would not use it unless i had unlimited resources to splurge on that stuff -
the map with the most boss spawn points has like 80 boss spawn points, as to which map it is i dont remember, i know its an outdoor map, i think one of the city industrial types
edit: after digging around some its unique mapt type, outdoor map category, and map name is City Map 01 (industrial)
this map has 82 boss spawn points -
to also add to what your saying, i think it would prolly be the best to actually just remove starting requirements from tfs, because with the upper tier alpha boosts coming out, tfs will be easier and not everyone runs tfs with a minimum requirement team and this is the ONLY thing in the game that you need to find pads for anymore since the difficulty settings changes
edit: trials should still require a minimum number since they are trials, although the requirements of some trials should be looked at -
i would be all for this as i completely dislike 75% of heroside tfs/trials, whatever
i also enjoy the shadow shard, but i hate heroside, and wish i could get there straight from villainside
i also thinking that adding more content to the shard is the way to go, praetoria is alright, but nowhere near how awesome the content for the shard would be -
Quote:i know i can use them at the same time, but that also costs more end, when i can just use the default slot in swift with a run speed enhance which is on all the time and costs 0 end since its an auto powerDid you know you can use both at the same time? And Ninja Run uses almost twice the End of Sprint? And that they grant the same run speed?
i also prefer ninja run because it has the better jump enhancement and air control
to be honest, even before ninja run was introduced to the game i still basically ignored sprint powers because the enhancement they provided wasnt IMO justified to be worth the end consumption -
Quote:i never use rest because i dont like how it works: can be interupted, way too long recharge, if a baddy happens across you while your in it you better get out of it fast because you will get hit pretty quick (if i need hp or end, i just pop a few inspers cause thats what they are for, as everyone says they drop like candy)You never use Rest or Sprint? Why?
And Brawl is useful for Brutes if you have any, as a zero endurance filler attack spammed between normal attacks to keep up Fury.
other reasons i dont use rest is because im so bored of the low levels i usually just geet a friend to PL my toons till they are in the 20s anyway and by then i have enough tools to not need the crutches of most of the inherent powers
i never use sprint because ninja run is 100x better and sprint feels like an end waster to me
never used brawl because its so freaking weak, and im not wasting slots on it to make it even moderatly comparative even to tier 1 attacks
the way most of my toons are built, i usually dont even use the vet attacks (ghost axe, nem staff) that much once i am in the 32+ range -
Quote:/this, GM fights are cool for a few minutes, but once you figure that neither side will win, you just want to end it lolSadly it ended rather predictably - a stalemate. Few (if any) GMs poses the DPS necessary to overcome the regeneration they tend to have.
i prefer watching AVs fight because they are also very strong targets and depending on the matchup of AVs, there will almost always be a winner (i know a few fights that stalemated with AVs were GW vs SP or GW vs numi, as neither had enough dmg to outdo the regen) -
the pilgrim has the intro arc
the other major NPCs usually have mini tf/flashback like arcs
i know mender lazarus has a mini tf type thing, so does mender silos, i think the mid level one alternated between tesserect and twilight son depending if your a hero or vill (vill gets tesserect, hero gets twilight son)
the mini tf type things they run, or basically intro to flashbacks, usually focus on stories from the city of heroes comic series
almost all of them will tell you that they suggest you bring help because since they are mini tf type deals they usually end with an EB/AV (or multiple of such, mender silos is especially bad for this lol)
most poeple usually reference these things as tf or sf since they are fairly short, have a direct storyline, end in EB/AVs, and give a decent amount of reward merits (ie mender silos tf/sf), the only difference between these mini tfs and standard tfs is the fact that they have no minimum starting requirement -
i think standard GMs are automatically hostile towards winter lords
2 days ago i encountered a winter lord and sharkhead and ghost of scrapyard had just spawned, and i pulled ghost of scrapyard to the winter lord. the winter lord started attacking ghost of scrapyard and pulled his aggro off me
i havent fully tested this with other GMs so im not 100% positive if winter lords are hostile towards other GM spawns -
Quote:i have to agree with this, i think most poeple on victory (including myself)think that praetoria is a lowbie wasteland because it forces you to basically not do anything aside from praetoria for the first 20 levels, if you start on hero or villain you could always just find your way to PD and just go the praetoria from there, but your not stuck or forced to stay there with the farthest you can go is pocket dVictory actually has a thriving population. As suggested joining the global channels is a great help. There also seems to be less people starting new characters in Praetoria than in the regular zones like Atlas or Mercy on Victory.
victory is definitly not a inactive place, just starting in praetoria excludes you from 2/3 of the game until lvl 20 -
based on how the power works, i basically just consider it useless and never even put it on my power trays
sprint, brawl, the origin inherent, rest, and this power pretty much never see the light of day on my power trays because i never use them -
i usually kill winter lords i see with my ill/cold troller, since he can solo them with relative easy
although this one time i was on a diff toon at the time running tips and i happened upon a WL in shark and of course scrappy had just spawned not too far from him so i pulled scrappy to the winter lord and watched them duke it out for a good 10 min, then i broadcasted on channels that they were fighting, so im sure poeple formed up to kill them by the time i was leaving to go to next mish -
they can only be used for objectives, IE boss, ally ,ect, then when you select a baddy it will show a doppelganger faction and you can choose options on it from there (like inverse, randompower, ect)
