Why? Can you support that idea with any sort of logic or reason?

As long as the kin/ or /kin uses Fulcrum Shift, I'm happy. Everything else is just gravy. Also, if you need speed boost, you're a crappy player.

How broken is that version? -
Quote:THIS!!!! It has made my forum experience so much better. If you use Firefox at work, you can use a plugin called Stylish, which allows you to change the way the forum looks.
Zombie_Man made a couple new skins which do exactly what you want. I love them:

OK, this is my problem:
My computer only works in spurts. What I mean is, every minute or two my computer will lock up for thirty seconds or so. It doesn't matter what I'm doing. I can be surfing the web, playing CoH, or looking through random folders. It will just lock up. Sometimes completely, other times I can move my mouse pointer. By lock up, I mean freeze.
I always have processexplorer running. It will tell such things as everything running on my comp, CPU usage, and RAM usage. When my system locks up my CPU usage will drop to 0-5%.
I tried cleaning out all the dust from my tower(it was kinda dusty), I tried reinstalling Windows Vista(hoping it was a bad virus), and I'm positive it is not a heating issue(I have good fan and it is working).
Today when I tried to start my comp it stayed at the Vista loading screen for three minutes before I shut it off. It is usually at that screen for a very small amount of time.
So any general thoughts on what the problem might be? My roommate(who knows his stuff very well) thinks it is probably a hard drive problem.
Any thoughts or extra questions are appreciated. -
I have a void/cyst/quantum bind for my khelds. That bind was made before all the crybabies got Kheld Kryptonite nerfed, so they are less useful now.

I shouldn't be in closed beta. I just gloss over the new stuff and then forget about the beta. Other people will help the game better.
-
Good post Lothic. While you do your best to test things when you are invited to a closed beta, I don't. Beta testing just doesn't interest me. So hopefully your participation, and my lack of participation, will play a factor in who gets picked. I would hate to see a spot get filled by me when I know I won't be helpful.

If I can get my computer working this week I'll pay you 50 million to be considered rich. Just for the ***** and giggles.

Quote:FF VII has nostalgia going for it. It is one of, if not the, most important RPGs ever made. Simply because it brought a genre into the mainstream. RPGs were popular before FF VII, but they reached a whole new level because of that game. Every Final Fantasy since VII has had gameplay vastly superior to it.Yeah, the liking of a game is pretty much moot. If you're playing it a lot, you probably like it. Heh. I just still find WoW's overwhelming popularity to be a little confusing. It was fun, but it wasn't THAT great. But of course, I still can't figure out why some people think Final Fantasy VII was the best Final Fantasy ever, when FFVI and IV blow it out of the water (even if their graphics aren't good, nor are FF VII's anymore).

I'll be able to make a Spines Scrapper and not take Stamina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote:I understand being cautious, but is there any reason you can think of that would keep us from getting the same thing Brutes have?I'm actually holding back on posting an Elec/SD simply because I'm not sure we'll actually get the same version that everyone else is getting. As soon as I get some solid info on what to expect with the new set, I'll start throwing down on Mids, but, unlike some, I actually prefer to wait to see what I'm going to have before I start planning around it.

Does anybody know how to edit the database? I would really like to look at that build.

Quote:Since I wasn't being serious, I don't care. No, he made a post about leading people OUT OF AE missions and into the "real world", when he got the star by accident or the leader leaving. And I'm talking about forming and running your own teams, of ANY kind from the START.
Not the same thing. -
HELL YEAH. With the potential change to elec armor I'm thinking about changing my spines/dark into a spines/elec for the better end management. Then putting the missions set for 8 and getting lots of purples.
Also, elec/SD is gonna rock. -
Quote:Getting aggro initially and holding aggro on 30 enemies are two different things entirely. When you are talking that many mobs eventually many of them would be out of PBAoE and taunt aura range. Taunt can only pick up so many. I'm thinking(obviously speculation) that it wouldn't be hard for a strong AoE character to take some or a lot of that aggro.Even with target caps for nukes and the like, it really won't matter if you don't have to worry about getting agro. The key is how safe would you be with the tanker holding everything to him/her/it's self? Think of a team with one Stone, a huge AE farm map lt's/bosses, and all the rest blasters. Herd then nuke, reset map. I'd almost consider it an exploit if one tank could hold the attention of say 30 or more mobs at once while the rest of the team does there thing with no fear.
You need to learn how to read kid. He didn't say RWZ challenge. He said challenges. You fail(and judging by your choice in avatar, you fail at a lot more than just this thread). -
Quote:I agree with your points. I find the suggestion a poor idea.I never said "It won't work because it is hard." What I said was "I don't think it's a good use of resources because it's hard and there's already something that does this." If you don't agree that rolling an alt is the same thing as rerolling a main at level one with a new archetype and powers, that's fine. We can disagree and I'm not going to lose sleep over it.
Since you clarified about the work part I completely agree. I misunderstood. -
Quote:I still have no idea how they choose who gets in the closed beta for an issue and who doesn't. For instance I was in the closed beta for I12-14 but for some reason I didn't qualify for a spot in I15 or in this one. Why? I've really no idea. None of my gaming habits have changed since I14 but for some reason the Powers that Be didn't think me worthy of closed beta access which now how has me completely confused. I mean what changed between I14 and I15 to warrant not getting an invite?
I suppose that's why the devs have never officially revealed what their criteria or qualifications are for access. In my case I'm a 63 month vet who sends in bug reports on the live servers all the time, plays well over 20+ hours a week, as well as time on the test servers and when I was in the other closed beta's I was very active in the Issue forums as well as reporting bugs. I can't possibly figure out what then has changed to explain exclusion this time unless they want to circulate the Beta testers every so often so that the same people don't always get in and others have a shot at testing it as well. Though if the whole purpose behind beta testers is to get the best people to accurately collect data and report bugs than why alienate those whom have already proved themselves?
Meh guess one day we'll find out. I can though at least take satisfaction in the fact that peeps like me and Turg are guaranteed a tier 1 spot in the closed beta of Going Rogue so at least that's cool
Everyone was invited to the i15 beta. They stated before it started that participation in that beta would influence future decisions. -
That is a pretty accurate description of my activity in Comm Officers. Odd thing is the one 50 I got out of it I don't play, and I deleted five mid thirties characters I got out of it, and the couple I have left barely get played. Kinda odd how that worked out for me. But I did make a ton of influence and infamy.

Quote:AFAIK they were working correctly. My opinion is that filling a map with only enemies that you know won't attack and proceeding to farm it is an exploit. However, I'm not assigning any morality to it(unlike some people). I just don't think it's a big deal. I'm just calling it an exploit because it is obvious to me(although some disagree, and I'm fine with that too). How do those enemies behave in the "real" game?
If they don't have attacks, then no "exploit" is possible.
If they do have attacks and they were bugged in MA, there is some possible moral hazard for players who knew something was wrong but farmed them anyway.
In any case, if its in the game, people will use it. If the devs don't like that, they can change things. It isn't the players job to decipher what's OK to fight and what is an "exploit".
I do agree that it isn't the players job to decipher what's ok to fight and what is an "exploit." IMO, that should be clearly stated if any punishment is to be handed out. The only exception to that, is when it has a direct significant negative impact on other players. And no, I don't consider somebody getting annoyed because some AE baby doesn't know how to play their character significant.
Quote:Their return to the original way of dealing with problems is welcome.
Here's hoping the lesson sticks. -
Quote:The mitos in those farms would heal themselves, but they lacked anyway to fight the player. To me, filling a map with enemies that cannot fight back is an obvious exploit. Anybody that doesn't see it that way is intentionally choosing not to use common sense.I've never had any dealings with mitos and have no idea what their "correct" behavior is supposed to be.
Which is why the whole "you should know it when you see it" 'definition' of an exploit is hooey.
That said, if the 'real' mitos have no attacks I don't see that their lack of attacks in AE is anything other than "working as intended".
And this whole line of argument goes all the way back to closed beta- people told them what was going to happen. People suggested fixes. They released it anyway.
So, I don't consider using any spawn available in MA to be an "exploit".
They could've fixed it, they chose not to, c'est la vie.
That being said, I feel it was handled much better this time. A problem was discovered, and they quietly fixed it. I think they learned their lesson from the cluster-**** that was Comm officer punishments. I have no issues with the way this was addressed.
Also, the fact that certain spawns that are easily exploitable that were left in AE unchanged is probably nothing more than an oversight on their part. Which is why I feel punishing the players is stupid.
