Targetting something specific and is still alive?

I currently use a macro:

/macro FIND "targetcustomnext CrittersNameHere"

but is there a parameter you can add to target only living critters by the given name?

I looked in the Bind Guide to no avail

And thank you very much! This will help in targetting those pesky kids... I mean Repairmen on the STF.

...then why even post...?

Glad you were able to find what you were after, JediJared. You can also use
target_custom_next enemy alive <crittername>

Go the extra mile.

/bind alt+somekey beginchat /bind somekey target_custom_next enemy alive

I do something similar:
/bind DIVIDE beginchat "/bind TILDE target_custom_next "

It makes it very easy to use tilde as a quick Boss, hostage, or object finder. I just press the button and type what I want to search for, and search away. If I ever want/need stipulations like "enemy" or "alive", they can be added in just as easily too.

Yep, same principle, except since I tend to use it to target specific troublemakers {sorcs, engineers, etc} I just delete the "enemy alive" bit when I'm hunting objects.

I have a void/cyst/quantum bind for my khelds. That bind was made before all the crybabies got Kheld Kryptonite nerfed, so they are less useful now.

Yep, along with your example, I'd use it for Generals and cysts (in the ITF), Surgeons, or if you are badge hunting you could use "spirit", "elite", "tank", etc.

Unless there are a bunch of other players around that possibly have a similar name to what you are looking for, you don't need the "enemy alive" anyway.

Well, the alive bit is so you don't unnecessarily target the already defeated targets, and the enemy parameter doesn't hurt - for example, to target sorcerers, you could just add "sor" and not worry about targeting your teammates Masor, Sordid and Usorper.

I know what they do, and you are right, it doesn't hurt to have them. I just don't include them because I find them to be not necessary 99% of the time. If I was in a mob that contained 10 Sorcerers, I might want the alive tag, sure, but that's not common behavior, and at that point, you could just use the standard target bind to move to the next one anyway. (YMMV)
