Quote:Nice try. Don't you know the powerlevelers are wrong for enjoying the way they play? At least according the 'authorities' and people 'knowledgeable' about the game that have given their 'insight' in this thread.Honestly, players who power-level will find ways power-level. If you were to close AE, you'd only penalize those players who use AE for legitimate reasons.
AE is designed to be a player-driven story-telling device. The fact that it's exploited by a subset of players to powerlevel their characters is irrelevant. Take a quick look at the sheer volume of stories in the mission browser. If you removed AE, you'd destroy all that content, sending a message to all those who had invested so much time into creating it. Sure, you'd stop the powerlevelers from using AE for that purpose, but they'd just find other ways to power level. So what would you have accomplished, aside from alienating all those players who had created all that content in AE?
I might even go so far as to hypothesize that in eliminating AE, you'd encourage powerlevelers to actively seek out new ways to powerlevel. It's the way they prefer to play; and if you take away their chief means of playing, they'll just look for another way to do it. -

Quote:Ah, I missed the special arrogance of the CoH forumites when I was on my break from the game. So because they don't play the way you play that means "they don't care about playing the game"? Maybe for some people they just enjoy playing at a high level a lot more than they want to play at a low level. Those people who are power leveling to 50 in two days? They'd be doing the exact same thing out in the game world. It might take them three days because they had to move around a bit.
There's no helping someone like that. I certainly wouldn't hold an extreme Achiever type up as an example of how the game needs to be changed. Those people are the type that only care about hitting max level. They don't care about playing the game. They only care about the number at the end.
And it IS the end, for them, since this game doesn't have a traditional end game.
No that can't be it, because that isn't the way you play! How silly of me to think different people could possibly want to play in different ways...
You should write a guide or something on the correct way to play so others don't make the same mistake. I think it would be a fantastic read! -
Once the devs fix the broken Task Force system(meaning needing a team to start) then the only time I'll team is when doing Incarnate stuff. Teammates are nothing but fillers that get in my way. Usually.
-
There is a really good chance I may do that too, though the idea of getting that top ST attack chain for my fm/sd does sound really really appealing. So many decisions!
-
There are so many possibilities here. I can already think of about five different ways to slot these into my three main Scrappers and what different kind of set bonuses I can go after because of this.
I'm going to probably spend as much time tweaking my builds in Mid's as I will playing the game. -
Quote:Nothing is wrong with that expectation. But coming across as whiny is really lame. So you owe me an apology for being lame. I guess you can apologize to Lisar too, but I deserve it more.Tell me LISAR, what exactly is wrong with expecting people to say "I am sorry" when they admit to a mistake? I would argue that the real wrong is accepting half of an apology when it could be a full and appropriate apology by adding that statement. Didn't your parents teach you to do just that, say "I am sorry" when you were wrong? I know mine did and I teach the same to my own children, it is only right after all.

I know. I'm not sure if we have up to date banners yet. I guess I could spend five minutes looking.
edit: Fixed -
I enjoy the gameplay for the most part. The community used to be a big reason, but I don't think nearly as high of the community as I used to(with the exception of two sections on the boards).

I don't like this idea. I think all KB should have it's base mag tripled.

Quote:I agree completely. I just reactivated my sub today. So the only time I've logged on in the last two months was for the free weekend a month ago. I made one billion influence the last month with one round of buying when I wasn't even an active player. In one month, I went from 150m to 8b. Just the marketeering alone, I spent probably an hour(And this is stretching it, as it only takes me twenty or so minutes crafting, buying salvage/listing) at most doing it, once a day. Making inf. is rediculously easy in this game.
The main problem for others is they: A) Don't have the inititive to even try, or B) Feel something in inherently wrong with the game, and somehow market prices are manipulated by something other then supply/demand(Like evil flippers/marketeers).
In this game you can fart out 100 million influence. -
I don't think its a waste of influence, I just feel its a waste of my time. The only TO's I ever slot are drops.

I'll /sign this every time it comes up.

I like the idea of APP/Patrons being opened up earlier. But I don't see a need for the other powers opening up earlier. I'm thinking that would create unintended consequences.
-
This is a fantastic idea.

Quote:You don't need the power accessible in order to keep set bonuses when you examplar. That's how I'm able to keep every set bonus for my DM/SR scrapper down to level 30 and use the top attack chain at that level.A fully cranked level 50 is going to have purples. Don't purples retain their bonuses completely while exemplared as long as the power they are slotted in is accessible? You've already got a major leg up on anyone at the natural level you're being reduced to.
-
Quote:No, that isn't even close to the same thing. In fact, this statement is beyond ridiculous. If a scrapper doesn't take his mez protection, chances are he will have a hard time functioning at a below average level of play.If you want a Scrapper analogy, it would be like skipping Active Defense or Practiced Brawler because you didn't like being locked into activating the power every so often.
If a kin doesn't take SB he can still function at a high level of play.
A better comparison would be a claws or fire scrapper not taking Spin or Fire Sword Circle. Sure, you can still be good on teams, but you would be a lot better if you took your awesome PBAoE attack. -
I smile whenever any defender joins my team. But I smile bigger if its a Cold defender.
-
Quote:All sarcasm aside that is probably about 75% true. I've read a lot of complaints about people teaming with shield scrappers.
Once did a PuG all scrapper ITF and we ended up with 6 fire/sd or elec/sd(5 with massive IO bonuses), a dm/sd(i think), and a kat/regen. I actually felt bad for the kat/regen. Though the ITF took us right at 21 minutes. -

I was starting to get into PvP around i11-12, then i13 happened and I lost interest.
