Access to Auctions etc while out of game

Other games have wonderful add on packs that lets you handle your deal with in-game email (including attachments), auctions, and actually do your crafting while not logged in.

They've released a mobile version of the app for Android and iPhone among others. I want! I'd pay $10 for this add on over the Party Pack any 7 days of the week.

Any chance we can get something like this for City?

Edit:

Also note that GW2 is incorporating out of game access as well.

I have to say, this is definately something I would pay for.

I like the fallen earth app. I have the original but not the premium yet.

If CoX had this, I would most definately purchase it... I mean emotes? $8? What? Toss a temp travel power in there or something.

I support this! I'd pay for this! I have an iPod and I'd gladly, GLADLY pay for something like this!!

I too am interested in paying for new out-of-game PC and smartphone applications for CoX. Mids barely cracks the ice, has bugs (like I18 fly speed calculates), and is at arms length from NCsoft. Better toon builders, email access, and market access would make a great game even better!

I'll /sign this every time it comes up.

I am planning to get an iphone next but that won't be until next year.

But if it can be compatible with my current N97,

GIMMEE!

all in all, yes please.

I hope they make a version for the more popular smartphone OS's, Series 60, WindMo, Android, iOS.

That would assume they set up the Web access first tho.

Make sure its also for Android phones (50% of instore phones will be Android based by end of the year).
Also ~33% of new phone sales are Android vs ~26% iOS.

Android is without a doubt the fastest growing smartphone OS out there, but it does not hold the largest share of the market, yet.

The important thing is that the devs take an interest in this, even if it is only via a Web interface to start with.

So let me reiterate: I'd pay for this a LOT faster than I'd pay for a pack of just emotes*. And I'd pay again (a reasonable price) for the Android app to run it from my phone.

*And just to be clear, while I have zero interest in most of these emotes I can skip buying lunch out for a day and pick it up. And I probably will, somewhere down the road, because I see what you do with this "extra income" from the super boosters. But I'd jump on out of game access to market/inventor/email/chat/etc at light speed.

Please also note that GW2 is going to have some interesting out of game access as well.

I am a bit disappointed by NCSoft now i was doing a search on my iphone for apps and i came across 2 apps by NCSoft both in korean and both for that aion game, first one was, as far as i can tell, a mobile auction house and the second was a Aion-wiki app both had beautiful graphics and looked really well done the notes in the app said english versions were on the way soon.

Come on NCsoft where is the love for the game that put you on the map and it's english playing crowd.

the only thing i can think of that might justify this is that NCsoft is trying to make up for canceling CoH in korea a few years ago but still i would gladly shell out the money for these two apps in a heartbeat if they made them for CoX

Well with Paragon Studios reducing headcount (we'll miss you, BABs) I don't guess they'll have much time for "out of game" development like web apps and connecting smartphones to them.

Makes me a sad panda.

Um... Different dev team. Different database. Different way of handling data. It's not "trying to make up for" anything - you can also view the characters, email and auctions on the Aion web site. (Even for inactive accounts.) You can also view server balance between the sides and how it affects "tax rate" and such.

The team is (was) over 60 members. They're still FAR ahead of where they were in the "lean times" (15.) If they let BABs go, that's animation. (Don't know what the other people did.)

It doesn't necessarily affect the ease or difficulty of adjusting the databases to put info out to the web - and the last time they tried, with the characters, it did bad things to the servers they tested it on.

Would I like to see it? Eh. Characters, sure. I don't particularly care about the market (what am I going to do with it out of game, personally?) but seeing what's sold/sitting/bought, sure. But we don't know what all needs to be done to make that info actually available, since it wasn't apparently designed in from the start. (I don't *recall* seeing web info options way back in I3-I4, at least.)
