  1. I should be able to make it. Detective Cora, lvl 50 AR/MM blaster.
  2. I'll probably bring my lvl 50 elec/shield brute, slight preference for LGTF but willing to do either.
  3. You look full, but in case we get enough for 2 teams, I'll be there anyway.

Officer Bay, dark/SR scrapper, lvl 35, Unlocked Hess
  4. Gratz again, Blitz! I still think about you when my son talks about Wii Mario Kart battles on wifi.
  5. There are pics, so it must have happened.

I had a lot of fun taking down Babbage after Babbage after Babbage, and Kronos was a nice bonus. Thanks for organizing this!
  6. I didn't get as much out of the 2xp weekend as I anticipated. For starters, on Saturday we took the kids to the waterpark so I missed almost an entire day of playtime. Sunday, leveling still seemed "slow", certainly not twice as fast as normal, but when I thought about it it made sense. The difference between patrol xp (1.5x) and double xp (2x) isn't all that big. So for people who bounce around between different alts (or just don't play as many hours per week) and build up lots of patrol xp, the 2xp weekends don't zoom them through the levels like they did "in the good old days".

Errr...you do know that the AE system was marketed (even on the box) as an alternative path to level from 1-50, right? It was designed for all levels of characters.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The problem isn't so much that it's an alternate path to 50, but that it has become pretty much instant access to a 50 without learning how to play. I've been playing for almost a year, levelling up my toons the "slow" way, and I have TopDoc around as an advisor, and I still have a lot to learn. I can't imagine trying to play "end game" content without having played my way up.
  8. Welcome to CoH/Cov !!!!

And thank you for being the sort of player who does the tutorial and reads the information it gives you.

    XP Debt at 50?

You can get debt at 50. Happy badging!

The same thing happened to me. I thought the lag was the fault of the game servers, when in fact, it was my antivirus program.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I thought the lag was bad during a Rikti invasion in Atlas Park on Virtue was pretty bad, then my scheduled virus scan started up. Thankfully, I play in windowed mode so it was easy to click on the "pause scan" option so I could finish the invasion.
  11. The comments about street-sweeping to gain levels to make it easier to complete an old mission got me thinking. If a level 50 dark defender joined a team of 35's and exemped down to do the ITF on heroic until reaching Rommie at the end, then unexemped (everyone else logs off, etc), could it be possible for the defender to then solo-defeat Rommie all 4 times in one minute?

Although that kind of reminds me of the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer claimed to be the best in his karate class.

    Triumph race

I can help out, if the timing works.
  13. Capres aren't available until you run a specific mission, that you can't run until you're level 20 or higher. Unfortunately for the OP, trial accounts can't advance beyond level 14.

If you're uncomfortable grabbing ther crotches, many will let you in for a mere grope of the left armpit. But the crotch, for some reason, is a sure bet.

You can usually click on the guards' shield, too. Much less intimate.

    Time After Time

Maybe if they could code it so that you can do any of the arcs, but once you have one of the four badges you can't get a badge from doing any of the arcs. Sort of like not awarding a badge that you already have, but making it any of the 4 excludes the others.
  16. MA - Mission Architect

AE - Architect Entertainment (or Edition?)

This was released in Issue 14, and allows players to design their own missions, and run other user-created missions. In theory, it's a wonderful idea. Creative people can write missions. Bored long-time vets can run new content. However, it can also be very easily abused and/or exploited. Some (a lot? most?) of these new missions are farms, designed to allow people to speed-level to 50 in hours. For long-term vets, that isn't necessarily a problem, but it does create a lot of brand-spanking-new players who reach 50 in a few hours and then have no idea how to play their character, or the game for that matter.
  17. [ QUOTE ]

I went to the site where I'm supposed to be able to architect and play stories others have written but all the computers tell me that I don't have access. This is even after going through the long "mission" talking to everyone. Is this because I only have a trial account or am I missing something?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Correct. You can play AE missions if you're on a team that is running them, but people on trial accounts can't start the missions, or create their own.

If you hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse, it changes your camera angle.

No rewards other than xp/inf and vanguard merits which can be used to purchase stuff in the RWZ like Costume pieces and Temp powers and other misc stuff like weapon skins.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And 2 reward merits for the GM.
  19. I think instead of posting all my "I might make it, depends on the weather" responses, I'll stick to only posting a reply when I don't have anything scheduled. If something gets rained out, I can always just show up and see if there are spots left (or enough reserves for a second team).

But since I'm already posting... we have weather-dependent plans for this Saturday. Last I checked, the forecast was (finally) for decent weather.

Which mish is this anyway? And what others are worth farming? I'm old and I don't know what's good in this brave new world.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I discovered the joys of farming the wall in Cimerora - it's fun because I can spend as long or as short as I like doing it, no need to reset between runs, no need to find fillers, etc.

Redside, the TV mission seems popular for farming.
  21. TopDoc and I might be interested - or rather we're interested but we're not sure what our plans are for the day yet. I'd bring an electric/shield brute, not sure what TopDoc would use (probably SoA for regular run, mind/psi Dom (named MoLRSF) for master run).
  22. Better list me as an alt again - with all the rain, the schedules for the Little League playoff games have been all messed up.

(My son's team won their first game, but the second round has been postponed twice already. I'm being a good mom and hoping they keep winning, as opposed to hoping they lose so this will all be over.)
  23. I remember hearing something about broadsword being "slower", which interfered with building Fury, as a reason it wasn't available for brutes yet. When I have more time, I can try to find the old thread and stick in a link here.

bleh, I'd rather give people the reason of the doubt...

    [ QUOTE ]
while I was sanding right under a sign saying "We will be closed/open on X holiday"

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've had that happen before, but after they asked, they would suddenly notice and laugh for missing it.

These would be the same people who ask me if my twins (boy and girl) are identical?

    I wanted to cry

    [ QUOTE ]
Very true but when I started playing you would click on the green dot lets say Kings Row and it would lead you to the Villains exit. I was very confused on how to get out of Pocket D for a long time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That bug, or a similar one, is still there. I click on the dot for Talos Island, and the beacon points me to the villain elevator. So if I heard someone in Pocket D asking how to get out, I'd probably direct them to the right elevator and hope they could figure out the rest on their own.
