Just a dumb question about powers
That is a very good question. The only answer is "because they don't."
Maybe this will happen down the line. But for now....
Edit: axe and mace were added to brute recently as well as sword options for Dual Blade types.

Mace and Broadsword are very similar sets (diff damage type and about one or two different powers.) I don't expect any AT to have access to both.

As I recall, the goal of proliferation was, eventually, to have all ATs with the appropriate sets. So, right now, BS doesn't exist on brutes. It may in the future.
Right now, if you want a brute with a blade, use DB.
I remember hearing something about broadsword being "slower", which interfered with building Fury, as a reason it wasn't available for brutes yet. When I have more time, I can try to find the old thread and stick in a link here.

Hey, Im an old player who has just created a new accoutn and i would like to know, Why can't any of the Villain Archetypes have broadsword as a power? Becuase that is the only Hero/villain only wepon I can find, and i would like to have a brute with broadsword because of a little machinima i am making, so can anyone answer this for me??
