How would that be different from any other weekend?
As to the title question, I have a LOT of charaters in the high 20's to mid 30's that I'd like to get pushed on into the 40's. I might try to make a big push toward 50 on one of them since my most recent 50 isn't too far from from being 'incarnated out.' And if darkness control hits before then I'll probably be part of the horde leveling a new controller or dominator.
PS Any guesses on how often you'll see "all darkness control" DFB runs if it's available by double xp weekend? -
Quote:There are worse comic books that movies could be made from. Can you imagine someone making a Howard the Duck movie? Oh.....nevermind.the problem is that Ghost Rider in the comics looks cool but that's it
he was totally different in the Chamions then his own comic (first one). He had no interesting villains.
There is basically nothing to do with the Ghost Rider, he may as well be an AE farm baby on Freedom -
Interface with pets was pretty wonky when it first came out. It kept changing from working to not working and then back again with each minor patch, mostly because reactive was so brokenly overpowered at first with pseudopets like Rain of Fire. It took a while to get the kinks worked out.

I once loaned a copy of Clerks to someone who brought it back having only watched a few minutes because: "I don't watch black and white movies." Not the only person who I've heard that from. It's like people who used to insist on pan-and-scan videos and dvds because the letterbox versions "cut off part of the picture." /headthump.

Ugh. I already have to wear glasses. I never want to have to wear another pair of glasses on top of them and pay extra for the privilege.

There are some tips I generally drop:
The oft mentioned Panther 541 I drop because of the annoying wait time between the attacking waves.
The debutante one is my least favorite because it not only has THREE npcs to escort, but it's guaranteed to have at least three of those annoying Master Illusionists in it. I will, however, do this mission whenever it come up until I get the Illusionist badge BECAUSE of the Master Illusionists.
Sister Jocasta is a drop depending on whether or not the character in question deals well with caltrops. My Ice Armor tanker laughs when the Knives try to slow her with little bits of metal on the floor.
I'll generally do whichever morality mission drops first. The Unusual Suspect is nice and fast, but One Good Spider is more fun.
Villain side I usually just drop the ones that require leaving Grandville. And I always take Hometown Hero over My Other Selves. The latter is nice to do once, but too talky for repeated runs. And the former lets me beat up Sky Dragon, the Rodney Dangerfield of heroes.
For the lower levels on either side there aren't any I consistently drop since I'm not going to be doing any of them on a particular character often enough to get irritated with them. Though I do wish there was an alternative to the 20-29 hero one. I hate that mission. -
There isn't a whole lot we definitively know about the Battalion (much of what others have posted is extrapolated from fairly vague statements in game and may not end up being accurate) but there isn't anything to suggest that they are the titans. The only titan in-game at this time is Prometheus and he at least claims to be on our side, though he's a jerk about it.
FYI the Atlas referred to so often in-game is not the mythical titan, but a (really big) human hero who lost his life defending Paragon City against a German sneak attack in 1941 (which seems to be Primal Earth's closest analogue to the real world's Pearl Harbor attack.) A number of characters in game have names taken from mythology (Talos, Ajax, and pretty much every named Warrior are examples) but are unrelated to the myths that inspired them. -
The bombs and the 100 Rikti are easy. The EB's are a pain since you have to get a pretty big bunch of people together for them to spawn.
And forget the buff, I want the Rikti axe. -

Brutes can be built up to have as much resistance and defense as tankers, but it takes more effort to get them there as the base values on the defense/resist sets are lower. Tankers also have better aggro control as their single target attacks taunt the target and up to four additional mobs near the target. Brute single target attacks only taunt the target, but that isn't too much of a drawback since brutes can still get an aoe taunt in the primary set and a taunt generating aura in the secondary. Brutes also have a slightly lower hit point caps. Long story short: Brute's aren't as good as tankers for tanking right out of the box, but they can be built up to do the job very well.
Scrappers can serve as off tanks on occasion if they take a taunt (and will have to go into the Presence pool to get an aoe taunt.) They can build defense up to tank levels (all AT's can for that matter. There are different hard cap defense amounts but they are so high above what is realistically needed or achievable that it doesn't matter) but have a resistance cap of 75% as opposed to 90% for tankers/brutes. They also have much lower maximum health. They are almost never 'main' tanks mostly due to the limited aggro control and many scrappers don't take any version of taunt.
As far as making 'proper' builds, that's a whole book worth of discussion.
IMO, Regeneration is a great secondary for a semi-casual player since it can be built to be effective at what it does without the amount of number crunching that some sets need to really shine. But I wouldn't tank with it unless you grab a lot of defense from other sources. -
At the rates new powersets are being released the points included with a subscription are more than sufficient to pay for them. Costume sets and new content HAVE been charged for in the past. The old booster packs (and there were quite a few of them) were costumes (plus a few other things) that you had to pay extra for. As far as new zones/trials/etc those have all so far been included with VIP access. And in the past there WERE times you had to pay for those (City of Villains and Going Rogue both had to be purchased seperately when originally released.) The idea that VIPs are getting less for their money than they used to has absolutely no basis in reality.

Quote:It took me 14 packs.Along that line can Anyone say, or has Anyone said that they FAILED to get the full set in 12 packs or less?
One thing to remember on the odds: When you get a costume piece it increases the chance of getting other pieces in that rarity level. -

Not effected by this myself, but I see your problem. The merits should be redeemable for ATOs since premium players are allowed to use both ATOs amd merits.

Quote:If that's what you like about DFB then you can get that with anything where you have a team. Individual missions can be run with full teams and it's not at all uncommon for people to group up and just run regular missions. The size and composition of enemy spawns is tied to the number of players in the group so if you like plowing through a large number of enemies you'll still get that even on 'regular' missions.I love the whole make team and run through destroying everything. I really like being part lf a team and seeing everyone do their part and making that synergy with each other.
Task/strike forces and trials are the content specifically geared toward teams. The chief distiction between trials and task forces is that trials have a special award for completing them (usually just on the first successful run) and usually have the final mission on a timer. The only difference between task forces and strike forces is that task forces (except for the co-op ones) are for heroes and strike forces are for villains. The links below show the different ones and the minimum level needed to participate.

The set does indeed suck. But if you have any recharge intensive pets (say Gang War) you can slot the aoe defense in that instead of a henchman.

It took me 14 packs to get all the costume pieces. No wolf though.

I don't consider DFB runs to be exploitive. And I'm not talking about the people who have been around forever and already played through the other content so many times that it holds no surprises for them. But if you hit level 40 and have to ask how to get to Talos Island (yes, I've seen this) then you need to leave Atlas Park more often. Why is it so terrible for me to want my fellow players to have a richer gaming experience?

Quote:I'll concede that it's more a quirk of my personality than it is an indicator of the other person's. And for the record I've never refused to group with someone who had a 'bad' name. Why does the other person have any relevance in how much investment someone might have in their own character? I've seen some amazingly terrible (to my perception) names out there, but interacting with the players they were as invested in their characters as anyone else.

Quote:It does however require a reason that the other person involved considers acceptable. I'm not making any assumptions about the other person other than their level of interest in their character. They could be a fine, upstanding person in all other ways (again I am not the original poster who said otherwise.) Having a lack of investment in a game character isn't a moral failing.Fundamental attribution error does not depend on the existence of other motives that you would consider acceptable, it is simply the cognitive error of assuming you can tell what a person is like by overvaluing one or at most a very few observations of incidences or behavior involving that person. It is like hearing someone swear and deciding that they are typically inarticulate and angry all the time.
PS Arguing social physchology is fun since it's so far from being a 'hard' science that the discussion can go on forever and get continually more complex without ever reaching a definitive resolution.
PPS A "conscious stylistic decision" would be a valid reason but it would still make me cringe. And the poetry of E. E. Cummings would have been much better (yes, my opinion) without his tendency to eschew capital letters. -
I can't speak for other servers but in the months preceding the launch of Freedom the help channel was being used pretty much as intended on Victory. Us jerks had our conversations on the global channels.
