  1. You can change shield to the elemental electric effect and it you can barely see it is a shield (mine is colored white). Pair that with electric melee for extreme awesomeness. Not exactly what you wanted, but it is awesome enough you should try it until you find something better.

    Sometimes playing sets I hate inspires me to make something I really like.

    This is true, but on my claw/regen scrapper I rarely use instant healing. If my regen gets floored I can use IH and it will easily last until reconstruction comes back, probably dull pain too.

    Thats why I chose my dark/dark stalker. Using beast run makes it even better.

    Hide.
    Assasin strike.
    Placate.
    Controlled crits (hide-crit-placate-crit)
    Crit bonus on teams.
    Ninjitsu

    These are structural differences that make stalkers unique. If none of that catches your eye, no big deal. I only have a couple stalkers, but I think of them as scrappers + the abilities above. When I don't feel like using the abilities above, then scrapper all the way.

Even with the higher max HP. Plus Scrappers get Shadow Meld. But Brutes get Darkest Night. So that's kind of a hard decision too.

    So I don't suppose some of the people still active with Regen could give me some tips or direction? I'd love to play a Regen that doesn't keel over at the slightest sign of aggression.
    Right now Im working on a dark/regen brute that seems like it will be pretty awesome. All the -tohit plus another heal in DM compliment regen pretty well in my eyes. A scrapper version might actually have better survivability without the taunt, but I dont know. I just plan to also get the -tohit incarnate proc and see how that goes.

    All I'm saying is that anything COULD be a new set. Titan weapons is already on beta, autumnal has 3 named powers between the control/assault. I think its pretty safe to assume that the autumn sets are in the distant future at best.

    Ive never seen someone so certain about something with so little data to support it. She has 1 legitimately new power(fire/ice hold), and the rest are pulled from other sets. Her swords are just costume pieces for db with changed damage type. Everything else looks the same. Like others have mentioned, a fire/ice set (again you have NO reason to think more than fire/ice right now) sounds lazy and unnecessary.
    Maybe you should wait for more info before you get so attached to an idea. I have never seen someone so certain that a whole set is coming out based on maybe 3 new powers.

    It seems like her powers have player-based descriptions and unique icons. That implies that they may in fact be a new player set. After all, most enemies just use simple descriptions and copied icons for powers that aren't available to players.
    1 single target hold, some blasts/melee, and 3 shields? Doesnt sound like a dom set to me. At all. Sounds like a set tossed together for an AV, or any other set mashed together for an NPC.

    The new powers she has could be part of a new set, but I dont think there is enough info there to even imagine it.

  15. I guess I won't be calling them Caltrops of Artemis anymore.
    I wouldnt mind if they let caltrops stack, but then they dissappear when the caster dies.

    Abyssal Gaze does decent dmg, I'd slot it as an attack.
    I'd want more defense, tank or not. It's a pretty melee-oriented build, and those big hits hurt. I don't find that purples drop reliably enough in team play. Shouldn't be too hard to find at least another 5% s/l.

    Here's how I'd slot your build; Dunno if you'll find it useful but maybe something in it will give you an idea.

  17. This is the best I could come up with so far. Hopefully hold/fear on the annoying baddies + purple insps and little heals will keep me alive.
    I usually only play blasters when there is a tank around. So with that in mind, how does it look?

  18. Im trying to build to live in melee, and use holds/stuns/fears effectively as well. I pretty much want all of my primary and secondary, and Im running out of slots way too fast. What powers should I go without?
    I definitely want to keep as much melee as possible, life drain and dark consumption, the nuke, and dark pit. From cold I would like the heal, hibernate, and the shield.
    I'm not looking for a build, just guidance. If this is even a viable idea...
  19. Is there an advantage to putting the chance for build up in tactics instead of build up? I like to put mine in bu to make sure I don't waste it, but I guess if it procs more during a long battle in tactics that's probably better.

    Maneuvers FX?

    Is it bad that I didn't even notice maneuvers had fx? Does it look like insp fx? I just ignore those as not part of my concept in the same way I ignore names/healthbars/targeting brackets/GUI Windows etc as not being part of my character.

    People that are "experts" on an AT are more likely to spend time in that forum IMO. They will probably give good advice, and relatively quickly. So yes, you probably wont see posts about ATs that you don't play much, but do you really want to?

    I see ~20 threads in this forum specifically asking for some kind of help and getting zero replies. This place is still new, but as the clutter grows I expect this place to get even less helpful.

  24. Instead of starting a new thread I'd like to add a related question here.
    My kat/wp brute will be capped to melee/lethal, e/n, f/c with holes in smashing, ranged, aoe etc. How effective will this be? I can only think of a few attacks that might use smashing/ranged without some other energy attached. Am I missing something major?
