  2. Wait, so does this mean there will be PvP in RV?!

For something in the 10s of millions, I'll spend more time searching around other levels for it.
How long does it really take? Lets say you are bidding on a 7 figure item. That is seven keystrokes per bid. Then lets say you try for the item within 5 levels of what you want. Lets say you bid creep in 100k increments. Lets all assume the cheapest one you find is 1.5 million and you start at 1 million.

I think that is 175 keystrokes.

Lets say salvage is anywhere between 3 and 4 key strokes per bid for a non rare salvage. Need 3 pieces of that. 3 bids before you get it?

    36 ish keystrokes.

Do this for 1 set and you are already looking at over 1200 keystrokes.

Lets say you buy it now for 2 million, buy each piece of salvage for 10 K.

You pay 3.3 million ish million more, but do it in 114 keystrokes.

Granted that is just for a 1 million influence item, you'd end up losing more for something done at 5, 10, 50, 100 million if you just bid high, but how much time difference? 114 vs 1266. For one IO set of six enhancements.

What if you start to do that for entire builds. Rare sets which have an extra piece of salvage. What if you get to IO'ing 1, 3, 5... 10 full builds?

(For the record I'd have never typed all this out if I had access to the game this weekend. )
  4. Its possible, I'm working on a Fire/SS that runs around 35% Defense to Melee/S/L. However, instead of going all out, it gave me some room for a nice amount of recharge (70% global I believe) As well as some +HP.

Soft capped defense isn't the end all be all on a character with no DDR, but it adds significant survivability to your fire tank. Yes cascade failures can and will occur... luckily you have the ability to move around as well as being able to fall back on your resists, heal, and possibly burn.
  5. I'd go with a Plant/Kin. Two tanks aren't really going to need the heavy survivability that dark has. But more damage, more recharge and more recovery? Definitely the way to go. Plant/Rad would also be a solid choice.

The big reason I say plant is creepers. If you have two tanks, I'd be cracking the whip for both of them to herd up the aggro cap and bringing all of them back to the kill zone.
  6. Level 25's all the way for LoTG's. My Elec/Shield and DM/Shield has 4 at level 25's with the purple melee and PbAoE sets slotted on each. Its night and day when it comes to exemping for TF's and the like. As other have said, the numbers are there for how little difference it actually makes and I like to have my high end build go from 30-50 not just 47-50.

Your buddies need to stop playing nothing but damage classes and actually play some support. Might I suggest making friends with a Cold/Psi custom AV? :P
  8. As most said, FF/Sonic I think is the most relaxed. Bubble them every 4 minutes, tell them to stay close to stay softcapped. Fire off Howl at the start of a spawn then keep attacking if you like.

Or Maybe FF/Arch so you can bubble every 4 then just nuke every so often.

If you want a whole new level of Lazy, go red side and play a bots/ff mastermind.
  9. MrLiberty

    Our foursome

Duo'ed Synapse in about 1:31 I think was the time.

    Psi/EM at 50 IO'ed and accoladed.
Cold/Sonic at level 16 to start, basic DO's

Skipped Babbage though, CW King went down in about a minute.

Purpled builds FTW at low levels.
  10. [quote] Does anyone make sixty million an hour? [quote]

A lot of times, farming the AE. Most definitely 60+ Million per hour. As much as 250 Million in a night depending on how fast things sell. Some of it deals with "luck" on the rolls but over time it easily evens out. Some Res/Def IO's, Kin Combat Dmg/End's, Regen tissues, Numina Heal's LoTG Def or Def/Ends... etc etc etc... rolling up 10 K bronze tickets (About 1 hour of farming) its not tough to average 100 million from just selling what you drop.

I was going to attempt to hit 1 Billion in 1 week on my Common IO'ed Bot's traps a few weeks ago. Got to 650 million after 4 days (Just farming and selling, no market play) but found that was all I needed to IO out the Fire/Pain I wanted too.

As for bid creeping. Anything under 100K Usually start bid on the highest price of the last 5 sales. 2 - 5 Million Toss up a bid in the middle of the last 5 sales. 10-75 Million Toss a bid up with the lowest of the last 5 sales. For 75+ Million I'll usually put up a low ball bid, see if there are any out there for cheap, if not. Creep up 5 Million at a time usually.

    Psi/Em Blaster!

Some really cheap sets that give you nice stats plus a few bonuses.

  12. 1. Ill/Rad or Fire/Rad probably. Fire is much faster, Ill is much safer.

    2. Cold/Sonic hands down.

    3. Elec/Shield

    4. Fire/Kin corrupter. Maybe Plant/Kin controller blueside.

    5. Stone/DM for single hard target, though most tanks can pull it off especially if its only one AV, GM, etc.

    6. Most Stone or Inv tanks if built right can pull it off with no real issue.

    7. Some kind of WP tank built for Defense/HP/Regen.

    8. Same as 7.

    9. Ill/Cold with power boost.

    10. Earth or Mind/Rad

I got a chuckle out of some of the Ill/Rad choices, its a decent all around build but definitely is far from best in some of the scenarios described.
  13. MrLiberty

    Earth/Energy Dom

My take at it. Mag 45 KB protection should save you from power push yourself. 23.5% Damage. 21.5% HP 40% Rech. No PvP IO's

Isn't that kind of like saying. "You can still be considered rich if you can only afford to eat Ramen Noodles the rest of your life" Even if you do really like them and want nothing more.

Beyond that it seems tougher to get the 20 merits for a random roll while staying at level ten than it would be to get the drop from some mobs.

Also merit cost as is 75 for Karma, 240 for Zephyr so the price does sort of make sense.

    Quoted for Truth!

Bonus points if you put together entire builds for them.

Beyond that, I'd say having a billion or three anymore doesn't make you anywhere near rich. Considering there are mulitple IO's that sell for a Billion or more a piece and a sets of six you'll likely pay at least a billion for (Purps, PvP IO's) you probably need 10 Billion in either influence or stored IO's to be well off.

  19. That looks solid to me, the only thing that I would do is change out the extra end reduction in acrobatics to a Mircofilament or Jump/End IO in Super jump.

Acro costs goes from .14 to .18 EPS
Super jump goes from .36 EPS to .28 EPS plus you get a good bit more jump speed out of it.

As a matter of preference I like the chance for build up proc in Aim rather than tactics. Its much better suited there for spikes and controlling when you get the burst. However if you are going to be doing a lot of 1 v 1's where you will likely be more constantly attacking its fine in tactics.

33% global acc + tactics + aim and build up should do fine for being able to hit most anything.

Something barely worth mentioning, but the slotting for AIM, the to hit buff gets DR'ed quite a bit anyway, so you could toss in two Adjusted Targeting's (To Hit/Recharge, Recharge/End) and get another 2% damage boost while only giving up 1 second recharge on the power if you want. (Plus its a lot cheaper)

If you will be regularly teaming with support that will hook you up with + perception go with dual phase but if you do plan to be on your own a lot I'd definitely recommend this. My Alt build on my Psi/Em is with Force/Aid self and it drives me nuts how often I'll lose my target.
  21. Slightly different way of doing it for PB Cosmic Burst, HP capped and a bit more damage and Regen (If you happen to get into a drawn out 1 v 1, can definitely help)

    Farming Tanks

I'm kinda sad I missed this thread the first time around. Tanks make decent farmers as you don't have to pump as much into their survivability but much more into their damage output through recharge in most cases.

Shield/SS/Pyre and Shield/Fire/Pyre are solid against anything.

Fire/SS/Pyre is brutal against council robots/mechs who don't run from burn and happen to be weak versus smashing damage. Its easy to toss a map of them together in the AE and go to town on it.
  23. Just a heads up to clear up the skewed perception, you said you were comparing an Inv tank to scrappers and felt like they were stronger yet weren't adding IO's into the equation. You said you geared your scrappers and defender towards survivability so we'll give an INV tank the same benefit.

Inv with Weave/CJ/Tough Hide/Invincibility with 3 Foes in range and the 3% Defense IO sits at 35% defense to all. With 8 Foes in range it sits at 43% def to all but psi and saturated at 10 foes it finds itself above the soft cap at 46.2% In addition, dull pain is up 2/3's of the time with just 3 rech/3 Heal meaning it spends 1/3 of its time at 1850 HP and 2/3's at 3000 HP!!!! That is just Defense and HP alone, not even taking into account all the resists Inv gets.

SR with CJ/Weave/Slotted defenses and 3% Defense IO sits at 42% defense with only 1339 HP.

Shields with the same deal has 33% Defense to all and 1605 HP, 2138 HP when the tier 9 is up 1/3 of the time.

So basically, even at its lowest level it has more defense than your shield scrapper. When you get to fighting 7 or 8 foes it has more defense than your SR scrapper. Again, not even taking into account Resists here.
  24. Good times, great partners, an especially great one in the end! Definitely hard to beat a blaster/emp combo yet and still

Thanks for Hosting again! Maybe for the next one I'll bring someone else. Soon as I work out the kinks with my Fire/Pain I'll definitely try to bring him.

Soilfir, the first match we had against the Rad/Psi and BS/Regen I was a little worried but you definitely more than held your own. There were some good fights last night! (And maybe a few one sided ones too, s'why its Random)

Doesn't BS do a pile more damage? I'd assume you aren't going to be using it all that much between Spirit Shark and Impale, unless I'm missing something else.
