On the topic, I do love "I was drunk so it's not my fault" defense. Was there not that Eve Guild Master who used the same excuse when he told people to attack another person in Eve?
Anyway, I expect no one will remember this gaming journalist a year or so from now but will still be enjoying what Felicia Day does. -

Flip this around, could Skynet come about in the Avengers universe? Figuring how many times they have smacked down Ultron, I think it's a moot point, Skynet does not last long enough to built a terminator.

Actually, I like the idea that Moriarty is the creation of Mycroft so he can mess with his brother but that would be a much darker Sherlock and not sure that the series really supports that premise.

Well, they gave us a tiny bit of detail about why the Queen hates Snow this week, hope they plan to flesh that out soon.

So, Spiderman gets the Twilight treatment? I'll pass.

Quote:Yes, I do not think they understand impulse buying.<shakes head>
Has anyone in Marketing there ever done *retail* marketing? Because what you are describing is a huge marketing fail.
- Sales moves slow moving 'inventory.'
- Sales encourages people to try out consumable items they wouldn't ordinarily use, and thus can hook them on it such they they'll continue to buy it at full price.
- Sales drives people to the interface to see what's on sale and thus encourages POS impulse buying.
- Sales make the company seem generous and eager to please and creates customer goodwill.
Marketing and advertising for retail, which is what micro-purchases are, is a different creature than marketing and advertising for subscriptions.
Not having something new on sale on a consistent basis is not good for your bottom line.
If you look at top grossing items at the various app stores that have come into being for iPhones & iPads or Android stuff, it the quality inexpensive stuff that grossing the most. I'll looks at stuff for that and happy spend a buck or two for apps there.
Look at iTunes or Amazons music store, songs are around a dollar.
I bought an iPad to start reading kindle books from Amazon and discovered they are selling lots of stuff for1 or 2 dollars so bought several items on impulse from they.
Instead of pricing stuff for impulse buys, Paragon Studio seems to be pricing stuff like DLC for other games but the model they seem to be using is Oblivion Horse Armor pack and people torn Bethesda apart for that. Bethesda learned their lesson from that and for Skyrim, is only promising large content packs for that, not $6.25 for a do nothing vanity pet.
Honestly, look at all the stuff they have on the Paragon Market, if they cut prices to 1/5 of what they are now, I would start buying stuff on impulse. With the current pricing, I only going to buy what I really really need so like 99% of what they are selling, I going to ignore. They can not be making up for high price for what they are losing in volume. This is virtual stuff that not costing them any more to sell 1.000 copies as it is to sell 1. -
I honestly wish people would not do this. You are sending the wrong message to marketing. If lots of people buy this, rewarding them for the idea, Marketing will think the price is right. Only way to get reasonable prices for stuff like this is to not buy it.

16 cores could be useful to me when doing 3D rendering. Not much else as most stuff not build for multithreaded stuff.
I can see people who are building virtual machine servers wanting these though. -
Signature Story Arc #1 - Episode #3 - Mission 2 - Hero Side - is bugged. Get to what appears to the end part of it with NPC and nothing happens and mission does not complete.

I love that OUaT is doing back and forth between story book land and Storybrook. I hope they keep that up. I am kind of disappointed that so many good story book characters seem to be working for the Evil Queen like Doc and Jimmie Cricket.
Grimm still in Freak of the Week mode, I hope they start building up this seasons story arc. Honestly, the wolf is the only reason I am still watching it, would not be unhappy if they spun him off into his own show and they killed Grimm. -

Quote:Why does the curse have to break in only one way? If were writing it, I would have have the curse semi break. They are all still stuck here with all their memories back. Heck, could play it with a few more seasons of them interacting with our world. Next to last season, I would have it that they were popping back and forth between Story Brook Land and here. Last season would be big build up to the curse really ending and they have to choice where they want to go. I expect that real world people would get involved with Story Brook people and could have plots about the evil real world people trying to exploit Story Brook Land. Honestly, good writers can milk this for years and years.Basically we already know that OUAT will end when the curse is broken and everyone returns back to the way they are supposed to be. Its outcome is already pre-established, so watching the series boils to seeing how long they can drag out the inevitable resolution. I suspect this'll be yet another show that would have been better served as something like a 10 episode miniseries (like Band of Brothers) than an open-ended series. They'll probably try to drag it out as long as possible until it gets silly instead of making a clearly defined story with a set beginning, middle and end.

What about an astronaut for the brain in a jar theme? Some type of accident in space dissolved skin bones and muscles just leaving the brain and nervous system floating in fluid inside the space suit now.

If PS ever makes a power copying powerset, I create the dreaded Copywight. Undead villainess with copy powers. Maybe I'll give her thread necromancy to rezzing dead horses too.

Quote:Hrmm, Reichsman, Reichsman, Reichsman. In true comic-book fashion I find the alternate dimensions of the CoH multiverse tend to revolve around one critical event in the origins of the protaganist.
"This Marcus Cole, from an alternate dimension, was a rogue and a mercenary who was exposed to mustard gas during World War I."
Around October 1918 Hitler was blinded by a mustard gas attack.
I can easily imagine a finely crafted backstory for Reichsman which centred around how Marcus Cole had heroically stepped in to prevent a young Hitler from the effects of the same gas attack. Perhaps he handed the young soldier his own gas mask for arguments sake. This led to those two individuals having very different lives from their counterparts on Primal Earth.
The self-sacrificing act which Hitler witnessed might have made him a more compassionate individual not interested in ruling the world, and Marcus Cole found the Well of the Furies as a result, drank the waters there and became Incarnate. With such raw power, and seeing how his sacrifice wasn't rewarded, he became Reichsman.
That's my guess anyways.Quote:Hitler also worked within the Education Department of the army and his task here was to lecture returning soldiers on the dangers of communism, socialism and pacifism. Senior officers were impressed with Hitler's skills as a speaker. It was at this time that the corporal, who was a loner, discovered his greatest talent - public oratory. The gas attack Hitler had suffered had affected his vocal chords and he spoke in a manner that few had heard before. Many who later heard Hitler speak at public rallies claimed that his voice had hypnotic qualities to it. -
Quote:You mean beyond the $15 I am paying monthly? Honestly, pricing schemes like this are going to drive people away, not increase revenue.Did anyone really think that VIP players were not going to be expected to pony up real money in this new business model? Since they seem to be unable to control the constant bleed of subscribers, they're going to have to nickel & dime the fewer & fewer remaining diehards as much as possible to keep the sinking ship afloat.

I think all that will be needed is replacing the tips on the mission transition screens with Steelclaw posts with a big message after them stating, if you subscribe, these will go away.

Honestly, the only power The Doctor needs is sprint because you know he going to be doing a lot of running.
