    Where's Wall-E?

Can you really call Daleks and Cybermen "robots" though?

While I'm pretty "eh" about the change myself (it'll be useful for little changes like color to me, but otherwise,w ell....) I don't agree with you on either of the above.

Traffic jams at the trainers? You've seen Icon when a new pack or issue with bits are released, right? Jam packed, can't reach the couple of tailors, etc. (Worst of all on Virtue.) Now? People will go where it's convenient to them - two spots in Atlas/Mercy, three in Cap (two trainers plus the people in FM) - it'll definitely relieve congestion.

As for making the actual tailors obsolete - I doubt it. You'll still have to go there to run the various missions (though we're going to be able to buy new slots,) the SuperTailors are there, and some people are just going to want to use Icon/FM instead of a tailor so they won't be bugged by people training.

The most irksome time was getting to 73 yds of the door at the top of that bloody mountain in the NE only to be buried by boulders flung by the Convention.

Nowadays, that "challenge" is gone, but back then, unless the beloved Taxibots gave you a lift, you needed to have your best ninja infiltration skills at work or you did not arrive alive.

    Ah, memories.
/this. There most certainly was a chance you could "fail" to reach your destination (especially with the "Look, a +8 spawn just appeared RIGHT ON TOP OF YOU!" that always seemed to happen, too.) I'd had teams waiting at the door while 1-2 people jogged back from Atlas... AGAIN... and tried the run... AGAIN... and fell into the canyon... AGAIN. A 20 minute mission took at LEAST as long again just to get everyone together.

My Emps (always took Recall Friend) and Warshades were very welcome. Especially the 'shades, who could fly OVER the rest of the Hollows and get to the door.
  5. Being "Team oriented" does not preclude a suggestion like the above. Especially if, as mentioned, someone wants it to be more than "recolored Empathy." Besides, the suggestion wouldn't take away from it being a team-oriented set.

And what role, Claws, would adding a debuff as mentioned start "filling" that it wasn't designed to? After all, Pain Dom has debuffs farther in the set as well. It's not adding a new general capability. It's giving a little bit of it earlier.
  6. Issue 5-ish. I know because I used to use it to go and do things like tour the Hive.

Some of the reasons given were "Phase Tanking." Hit taunt, get stuff's attention, phase. Of course, this was also pre-ED.

The Kheldian self-phase with end burn was changed to the 30 second timer a while back, as well. Current reasoning had something to do with chaining phases (the temp, the PVP zone one, and phase shift) to be untouchable in PVP zones - which apparently either still happens, or can be countered by the other person phasing or some such.

    More Tray Slots

Fortunately, the Inspiration tray - just like the map and most other windows - has two little buttons on it. One closes it. The other unpins it so you can move it wherever you want. Thus no longer interfering. Or, of course, you could move the extra power trays somewhere else, as well.

And I have seen it posted that with all the other powers you can get (from mission rewards, invention system, veteran rewards, etc.), there just is no way you can get them to fit in all 10 trays that the game has.
And how often do you need access to *every single power you ever get?* I don't often find myself in Incarnate trials looking at a War Walker and going "Damn, I need that does-no-damage origin power that used to go away at level 10!" or "Wait, where's Shadowy Presence?" Or even "Where'd that frag grenade go?" Or even "I need both Beast and Ninja run available!"

Most people keep their primary/secondary/APP/incarnate powers (not all of which even show up, being auto powers,) some pool powers and possibly the incarnate powers. It USED to be an issue when we only had 3 trays - and people found ways around them (binds and macros.) I'd suggest the same to you, but you've already admitted to being too lazy to learn anything, so I wouldn't suggest anything like *reading* about keybinds.

Looks like you're trying - and failing - to find an excuse with that one, to me.

Now, as far as "interfering with inspirations" and "hard to arrange nicely," I snagged some of my layouts. These are obviously not the only way you can do them. All of these are 50s. You'll note I don't have every single power I have at 50 (temps, etc.) in there - that's because they *aren't used.*

    First, my namesake tank:

    - Out of space for powers? No.
    - Interfering with inspirations? No.
    - Ugly or hard to manage? I don't think so.

Going to one with a few more incarnate powers, my first level 50:

    - Out of space for powers? No.
    - Interfering with inspirations? No.
    - Ugly or hard to manage? Not in the least. This was actually my worst layout, 'til I tweaked it... because of this thread. I'd been lazy and hadn't moved them since, of all things, Pop Help (and the need to turn it off.) This one tends to craft stuff for the SG, so one tray's a bit higher for easy Enhancement tray access.

OK, how about someone with all five Incarnate powers that have been released? Well, only three need tray space. My Ice/Emp.

    See above for notes.

Let's step down to two others that might need more space. My first Peacebringer (one of two level 50 PBs.) This one's a triform.

There are actually two MORE trays being used here - one for Dwarf, one for Nova. But, because I wasn't the least bit lazy and learned basic keybinding, those two trays (total of seven in use, if you're counting) switch out as needed on the bottom row.

    Then there's a mastermind:

    Space for Inspirations? Yep.
Space for a pet window? Yep.
Space for the team window on the left.
    Space for incarnate powers.

So.... you were saying something about "in the way," "not having enough spaces" and "hard to manage," I believe?

Fortunately, the devs realized the other way (giving Villains access to non-patron-tied APPs) was far and away a better idea, since not everyone wants to be tied to one of the Patrons or Arachnos in general.

Personally I'm for heroic "mentor/patron" pools for RP and diversity reasons.

The RNG hates you then, I guess. I do it regularly - sometimes takes a bit of grinding out, other times I have it drop within the first few things I attack. You probably have another tip mission - even though it doesn't count, run it. It makes sure you have the spot clear, and it's stuff to kill while getting the mission.
  10. ugh. Summary for the OP and anyone playing along at home:

    - Heroes and Villains both have access to Anciliary Power Pools at level 41 without running any special arcs.
    - Villains have the option to run an arc after picking a patron to use a Patron Power Pool instead.
    - There is nothing similar heroside. Heroes wanting to do so have to go Villain. (There are no "Hero Mentors" with arcs. They have been requested at times.)
    - The 45+ story arc has nothing to do with the PPP. It's unlocked already. It just deals with the endgame of Operation: Mindc... er, Destiny.
  11. /casts Summon PVP Numbers Person

... since I don't recall at this point if the I13 (or any post-I13) changes did anything to END use/recovery/etc. I don't *think* they did, but I wouldn't put money down on it.

I'd also either direct you down there or suggest grabbing something like CIT (or, what do they call it now... Titan Sentinel) to export your build and post it. You should have better recovery than my Fire/SS and I've lasted a fairly long time in a 2v1 (mine being the 1) on him. (Then again, my MA/Regen Stalker tended to burn through it, too, when I stuck around to scrap - which was frequently, unless I was trying to be a distraction.)

    A new AT.

    Plant/Thorn.

No, really, if you're looking for combination of RP concept and ability - well, quite a bit opens up, but it's really a question of what you *enjoy.*

If you're wanting to stay at range, of course, there are some sets you'd want to avoid - but playing a Dom (which, frankly, I enjoy) /Fire really is a good secondary. Good damage, you can avoid the melee powers if you want and not be gimping yourself. My Mind/Fire, for instance, was (still is) a beast.

Side note, while it might be easier (concept wise) to throw a certain pairing together (mind/psi, say,) if you hit something resistant to your main damage type... yeah, it'll be painful.

While you're talking range, did you like pets? You may have a mastermind combo that works for you - my first MM was a Bots/FF, and I felt.. well, a lot like you describe. Bubble them up, run leadership and be an observer. Switching to Thugs/Poison made me love the AT again. If you like range, you'll probably want to look into Thugs, Bots, Mercs or Demons, paired with a fairly active secondary like Poison or Dark (Traps is popular, but active in a different way - not for everyone. I like it, though.)

Of course, there's always Blasters, Corruptors and Defenders (or if you want to stay with buffing/debuffing, Controllers, as well.)

Personally, I'd tackle it from the other side. Come up with an idea for a *character,* and start working inward to see what sets would fit.
  15. I'd vote for the move (either to a "retired" SG or to another server") over deletion, if you enjoy the character. I've got a few "retired" characters - some whose stories pick up in new characters, some who just step into "administrative" duties with the occasional bit of action, others... well, that just get shelved.

If you can't see yourself playign the character (as in, the only reason you bring them out *now* is for RP, and if it weren't for that, they'd be gone,) then yeah - blaze o' glory time.

You don't sacrifice much of anything, really.

Besides, how much damage are you doing if you don't have END to attack?
  17. Generally the first thing you'll hear, and hear often, is this:

SLOT END REDUCTION IN YOUR ATTACKS.

They burn more END in most cases than your toggles. Of course, don't IGNORE your toggles. And use only the ones you need - hitting an all SM/Lethal group? Then why are you running Energy defenses? Shut it off! And definitely make sure to shut off, oh, little things like travel powers. (I'm bad at that. "No, I was sure I switched to CJ.... oh, hello SJ, why are you still running?")

Other than that - I'd say having someone look over your build would help.

I've got to admit... I have zero sympathy for people finding out their untouchable-defense uberbuilds (especially on those ATs not designed for defense) get gutted there. It's called a challenge. (And yes, I do have a few SR, Ice, etc. characters, I'm well aware of cascade failure in defenses and the like. Just means I have to do more than lolfaceroll when fighting things.)

Frankly, I'd expect to see even MORE groups designed to gut defense thanks to "IO abuse" (the devs *have* stated they didn't expect players to go as far as they have) and Incarnate powers.
  19. /signed. Wouldn't mind seeing this. "Fall of the Column" has been in for a long, long time.
  20. Interesting idea, and it would do more than make Pain Dom just 'recolored empathy" until late in the set. But as mentioned - it might not be doable. (or it might have to be done through the heal aura, instead.)

I tend to prefer the lower level characters because they don't make the content "faceroll-lol" easy.

I don't want to run a 5 minute ITF where it's just pets and rotating Judgements. I don't IO out characters to where the squishiest is untouchable and can solo everything in the game in 3 minutes... if I'm asleep. That's utterly boring to me.

  25. If you want to do this with multiple characters, as I recall, you can add a filename to the end - say, /bindsave empathbinds, /bindsave icedom, then just /bindload with the name on the next character of that sort. Otherwise (again, IIRC) it just overwrites the file.
