Altering Pain Domination
Those 2 sets, more than any other, are the "I plan on teaming at all times" sets.
Pain Domination is much better for Corruptors, at least on them the damage buff a lot of your buffs give you is useful. Not so much for Masterminds, since pet damage isn't affected by thse buffs.

Plus it fits the name a bit better and makes it a little more distinct from just being "Villain Empathy" early on. |

If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.
Pain Domination doesn't do much when you're solo, even as a mastermind (the heal is nice, yes.)

Regardless, there's no way to a do a dual ally/enemy power, that we know of. (And a minor -Regen/-Res power is pretty underwhelming to boot.)
Never surrender! Never give up!

Interesting idea, and it would do more than make Pain Dom just 'recolored empathy" until late in the set. But as mentioned - it might not be doable. (or it might have to be done through the heal aura, instead.)
Neither does Empathy. They aren't supposed to.

"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill
We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
There are power sets designed to be solo oriented, and there are power sets designed to be team oriented. Just like there are ATs better suited for teaming and soloing.
There's nothing wrong with that. I don't feel that EVERY set needs to be a solo powerhouse. Having some sets that are specifically intended to be team sets is a good thing. T
here are a lot of players who enjoy the team dynamic and knowing they serve a valuable role by playing a set that really shines when teamed, and I don't think that should be taken away from them.
There are plenty of other sets that solo better that you could choose without trying to change team oriented sets to fill a role they weren't designed to.

Being "Team oriented" does not preclude a suggestion like the above. Especially if, as mentioned, someone wants it to be more than "recolored Empathy." Besides, the suggestion wouldn't take away from it being a team-oriented set.
And what role, Claws, would adding a debuff as mentioned start "filling" that it wasn't designed to? After all, Pain Dom has debuffs farther in the set as well. It's not adding a new general capability. It's giving a little bit of it earlier.
Take Share Pain.
Hit your vet pet with it before you pull.
+Dmg buff, profit, while soloing
Random thought.
Pain Domination doesn't do much when you're solo, even as a mastermind (the heal is nice, yes.) A debuff a bit earlier would be kind of nice. If it's possible, how about having Soothe able to be targeted on an enemy and debuff them? A little -regen and maybe -resist.
I don't know if it's possible at all. Like I said, random thought. But it'd be some nice debuffing early on before Anguishing Cry. Plus it fits the name a bit better and makes it a little more distinct from just being "Villain Empathy" early on.
