Quote:... why would it be $70?I want the complete package. Can I preorder that? If I can't will there be an item pack offered. While I love this game, 70$ for all the options (early start, and items) is a bit much.
Preorder the complete pack, $39. You don't need to get both versions. -
What card is on the laptop? The 7050 is very, very basic.
-
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 7050 Integrated Graphics
... there's one culprit that jumps out.
You have one PCI Express x16 slot free. Stick in a better video card. Integrated graphics are to gaming what quicksand is to skating. -
Hmmm. *pages through photobucket*

I tend to lean toward "OK, but they should be 30, not 20" myself - for both Khelds and VEATs. Long enough that people realize there's some building to do, and expect to have to do it for the epics as well - more than "i haz staminas nao."
I didn't mind it being 50. I think if Khelds had been unlockable at an earlier level when I got mine (issue 4,) not only do I not think I'd have been ready for it, but wouldn't have had quite the drive to finish my elec/elec blaster (the first 50.) I actually argued against the VEATs having their unlock requirement at 50 "for the sake of parity" - the devs were saying well before that that 50 was a mistake, and really, I wouldn't have cared. Parity, to me, is just a *bad* argument. So in that sense, I suppose I'm glad to see it coming down.
I do think it's a little *too* low, though, yeah. -
Quote:Funny, I don't see him saying anything. Haven't for a long time. Doesn't sound like he's started posting anything worth reading yet, either.Ad hominem. Attacking the person instead of debating the point. Logical fallacy.
Edit: Yep. From the quote, still posting his usual nonsense. -
Not doing EU to NA, but I did pre-order Aion (CE) via the NCSoft store with no issues.

Regina Arctus

Could've sworn I had her story up here at one point - apparently not. So I'll have to try to shorten what was a long, long story...
Regina was always a fighter, never backing down from "impossible" things, always having faith things would work out in the end. When she was left with severe spinal damage, leaving her paralyzed (and her ability to *survive* on her own questioned) after the car wreck that also killed her fiance, she volunteered to become one of the early cryogenic experimental subjects, sure they'd be able to revive and "fix" her sometime in the future.
Then came the Rikti invasion. The lab, showing as some sort of power source on their sensors, was attacked. Several of the "patients" were killed, but Jack - the caretaker for the group - found Regina might just be able to be saved. An emergency revival (the first done) was successful, except for two small things. The chemicals damaged her eyes, leaving her blind - and left her skin blue.
Crey (who had been interested in the company to begin with, and never one to pass up an aggressive takeover) approached Regina with an offer - become a test subject for a project that would not just restore her mobility, but help develop their powered armor "in these troubled times." She agreed (with the condition Jack, who she'd become fond of, came with her.)
They worked willingly with Crey, moreso after seeing the technology prototyped on her give a wounded man the ability to walk again. Everything went swimmingly until the hero was brought in. Reg never saw her taken out. She, and Jack, started gettign suspicious about the Paragon Protectors and nosing around, copying data when they thought they could get away with it.
Eventually, in an attempt to shut her up and rein her in, Crey destroyed their home and killed Jack (now her husband) in front of her. She's been on a mission to expose them and bring them down ever since.
(Found the original, as well - starting here. Looks like ti got mangled more than I thought in the transfer, though.) -
Quote:I'd be surprised if that were the case.If I had to guess, I'd say probably so, but probably not up front. I'd guess a few months in, you'll be able to get some kind of booster pack that includes all of the extra stuff for $9.99, but that's pure speculation.
This isn't a pack, to begin with - the Mac edition was, really, just a "Hey, we have something that'll run on Mac" with the release of goodies. GR is going to require you to purchase the full thing for you to enter the zones and whatnot - and why wouldn't they say "And you can upgrade your purchase now!" right away? -

Quote:Instanced missions. If you're thinking of the swarm of people waiting for AE farms, those got (fortunately) nerfed, so people aren't clustered around the Atlas AE building spamming for teams and learning how to stand by the door instead of how to play their characters.I played the game a year or two ago, and just started playing again last night. I'm loving running around and beating stuff up, but where is eveyones else?! I don't think I've even seen another hero yet. I'm on the Champion server, is there another server that's more populated or are the starting areas on all servers like this?
Champion's not the highest pop server - generally Virtue or Freedom is - but again, most people are going to be inside instances doing missions. Join your local global channels (check your server forum down below.) -
Quote:I don't know how the NCSoft store will work - if Aion's any indication, there'll be two separate preorder options (one for regular, one for complete.)I am a bit confused tho. Will I need to spend 29.99 on the pre order and then 399.00 on the complete edition? Or will one purchase go towards the other. I want to pre-order, but I also want the complete edition.
If you preorder the physical box, most stores will let you say "Y'know, upgrade my preorder to the complete edition."
And if you pay $399 for it, you've been overcharged just a bit. >.> -
So... preorders (especially for GR:C) will hit the store when?
And Khelds (and those lesser arachnos things) are open at 20 now, I'm assuming, since this doesn't sound like "announcing a new EAT" (unfortunately.) -
Odd. There's no limitation I know of like that in game (while I use binds, not macros, mine are similar and use tray 7=nova, 8=human, 9=Dwarf.)
-
So if "Moving from one brand to the bigger, more widely used brand that bought them" is good, how is "Move to something even more people can use that isn't brand dependant at all" not better?

Elixir has an entertainment value of making teammates stop to puke, as well, IIRC.
Um... sure you're not thinking of /traps Poison Trap? /Poison's poison trap's biggest plus is that you can skip it and not feel guilty.Quote:Poison Trap is great when you have some stealth pool on the go. Run in, drop it, attack. win.
er... you can *only* put it on pets. And there are no allowed enhancement set categories on it.Quote:Noxious gas is great on pets. Moar procs in it = more fun -
Quote:Oh, I wasn't going into dislike (most of those go onto a perma-ignore list, and that list is really pretty small.) Just that I seem to recall we argue more than we agree if we're in the same thread. (Either that or we've had some real blowout at some point that left that impression on me.)Yeah, I'll agree with this. I have some strong opinions, but I'm more open to ideas than some would give me credit for.
There are a total of 5 people I actively dislike on these forums, and Bill you aren't one of them.
(And yeah, I'll go through phases of being *really* touchy about stuff, too, which might also color it - never claimed to be an angel.) -
Quote:Sounds like you actually need to look around blueside more. If it makes you feel better, I'm sure you could pile some garbage around your monitor to give it the "Rogue Isles" look while you're there, if an actual, maintained look is too frightening. It's more realistic, IMO. You're not going to have an entire city full of flashing lights and casinos. This isn't Starwars, where an entire planet is characterized by one particular topographical feature. Yeah, Las Vegas has flashing lights and casinos and over-the-top sights, but there are places around Las Vegas that isn't so great looking.
And this goes for all the parts of the Rouge Isles. Yeah, they didn't take all of the 'city' parts of PO, St Martial, Nerva and Cap and stick it all in one 'zone' then take all cemeteries of Shark, the jungles of nerva and the rocky outskirts of Cap and stick it in a 'wilderness' 'zone'. No, they put variety within the zones because it's far more interesting than having huge boring zones with only 1 'feature' like Skyway, Steel, Galaxy/Atlas, IP, hell even Terra Volta is a big snore. In all honesty, they could have just crammed those all into one big 'city' zone and have been done with it...and they still wouldn't hold a candle to the variety of just one of the areas in the RI.

Counter: Willie Wheeler. VEAT arcs. Fewer SFs, easier to get burned out on, no alternate paths until you finally hit coop zones. Yes, there is some of my favourite content over there, too (Victor von Grunn, the Television,) but as an overall "The content is better?" Eh.
How is that, when for the most part the same people play both sides?Quote:the players are more competent,
Why I'm looking forward to GR:Quote:AND it isn't as bad as people say, and the more of you come, the better.
1. More low level content. No more Kalinda/Burke, Gheed/Mongoose, Heck, Vendetti, Bocor, Radio, yet again...
2. Bringing Doms heroside.
Redside needs more content. And alternate zones that don't look like they're designed in the world's biggest garbage dump. Even the area that should, in theory, be more geared towards tourists (St. Martial) is bland, broken up, and trashy. And really - even with construction going on, would any tyrant let their "capitol" (or at least headquarters) get as much garbage on the streets as Grandville has, once you step off the armor plated walkways? -
Quote:My /Psy doms, kinetics corrs, etc. *love* that. So easy to get nice buffs off of all those civilians...mayhems are still insanely annoying because the civies running around are targetable and unkillable, i cant list how many times ive been killed because im in a big fight and i use tab to target the next enemy but what do i get? a dang civi, and what else? i use a strong attack on it, so im basically vulnerable for time being, and its really annoying to have to click on the enemies you want to hit in a mass of civies when your first enter the bank.

Quote:Done for the sake of discussion.Pedantic appeals to the dictionary when dealing with technical jargon strike me as a bot odd, but OK.
(You do realize, I hope, that I *like* Origin arguments.)Quote:But the argument that "X is natural to that character" can be stretched far enough to cover anything, rather like the "Any weapon is Tech, including pointed sticks."
But that's not exactly where origin comes from - yes, the weapon itself would be tech, but...
Well, let's put it this way. We've got two heroes, both using (say) AR in-game. Exceptionally accurate.
One trained for years. Give them anything gun-like, they'll have a high degree of accuracy, be able to hit what they want, etc. The ability is in *them,* not in the gun, not a mutation or serum, not a magical gun - they'd be natural origin.
One worked out a special, super-high-tech gun that auto-corrects, auto-targets, autoloads, auto-everything. Take that away and give him an M1, and he can't hit the broad side of a barn. That'd be tech origin.
The pointed stick is technology, yes, but only so far as being a tool, assuming we're talking just basic pointed stick. A hammer doesn't make a carpenter. The question is in where the ability resides. (Of course, I'd bet a good 70% of characters in the game have their origin because "that's what I clicked to get through to the rest of it.") -
Quote:stuff like this would just promote farming, if you had more than 1 badge, i mean 1 badge for getting the AT to 50 once would be ok, but more than that would cause more than 1 problem
/this.
And we have enough evidence the devs don't particularly like badges that heavily promote farming - see also the mass removal of AE badges.
(Also repeating that I happen to love Khelds - two PBs and a WS at 50, others in various other stages. Not fond of VEATs. That said, I do hope they do other EATs - a Coralax that's unlocked, either side, as part of the reward of a 30-35 TF, for instance, as opposed to getting to 50. Something that definitively ties it to part of the lore... y'know, the 'epic' part of it.) -
Quote:Since the macro bit's been taken care of, thought I'd mention this.Once I made it to lvl 6, I took Light Form (I think that's what it's called, the first of the shapes you can shift into).
Level 6, first form, is Nova.
Level 20, second form, is Dwarf.
Now, "So what, you know what I'm saying" might be some peoples' reactions - and yeah, we do know what you're saying (just put "bright" in front of each for PBs, "Dark" in front of each for Warshades,) but you'll run into potential confusion in the future if you keep calling it Light Form... because at level 38 (IIRC - late, anyway,) you DO get a power called "Light form" as a Peacebringer - basically Unstoppable, and yes, it changes how you look (and locks you into humanform powers for its duration.) -
Quote:Adjusted. The civies in current bank missions do, thankfully, all peg it for the door.
One of the reasons the old (pre-Mayhem) bank heists were absolutely hated by many - civilians (tons of them, it seems) running around everywhere to where they'd push you out of position, push you out into an oncoming ambush, etc. HATED those missions with a passion, still glare at the occasional one that comes up in newspaper missions. I was so *incredibly* glad to see those things *gone.* Mayhems are many hundreds of thousands of times better.
