Quote:All are natural. Natural starts with Miltary, Dragon, or Back Alley.Read what...the name? Since tooltips are busted, and right-clicking, as has already been said, can be clunky and time-consuming...that must be what you mean.
So tell me...what does Military Insight enhance? How about Dragon Flurry?
Military Insight is a taunt enhancement.
Dragon Flurry is confusion duration.
Of course, I *have* been playing this game over five years now. I haven't had to right click in a while. I did, years ago. Seems like a few seconds paid off rather well. -
Quote:Same order, from level 1 to level 50. Repetition is a wonderous thing. So you really expect people to memorize all 26 enhancement types in alphabetical order, and count through them to figure out where the one they're looking for is?
You have *got* to be kidding. Or exceptionally *lazy.* Right click once if you're not sure. Write it down if your memory is so bad. Never have to do it again.Quote:right-clicking is clunky and time-consuming.
If THAT is too much hassle, I suggest paying someone else to play the game for you. -

I wrote my reply directly to the OP. There is no mention of color blindness there. And if you're unsure, you can still right click and read.Quote:
B) There are too many colors and too subtle of differences for that to be a good indicator for some of them.
... and they're also alphabatized.Quote:That's the entire point here. They train you to do one thing, i.e. be able to look at the icons to tell the difference between them via icon, then they turn around and completely change the way they work. -
I'm getting deja vu. I could swear we've had the exact same thing come up, word for word, within the last month.
So, I'll repeat myself -
Nope. I didn't have trouble. You learn the color coding - doesn't matter what the "icons" are. And any confusion? Hover or right click. Kind of the point of TOs, after all, is to "train" you. -
Eh, wot? Yeah, I know. But I ran my Fire/Fire dom through Dean Mc's arc earlier today. My faulty clone?
A Grav/SS dominator.
And damn, that looked like it'd be fun. Yeah, the set would need some adjustment for Dominators (and yes, Scrappers, I know you want it - let Castle play with the numbers, as I think that's his big issue there) but I think it'd be an interesting secondary.
Now, most Assault secondaries have a mix of melee, range and AOE. Superstrength is a bit weak on range - but then again, Dominators don't need Taunt, and probably could do without Handclap (since the primary is all about control.)
So, how to change it for Dominators - maybe just call it "Physical Assault?"
Superstrength (Tank version, as it's also a secondary there) looks like so.
1. Jab - Minor damage, disorient, lvl 1
2. Punch - Moderate dmg, knockdown, lvl 2
3. Haymaker - Melee, High dmg, KD, lvl 4
4. Taunt - lvl 10. Obviously something to change.
5. Hand Clap - PBAOE KB. Lvl 16. Another to change.
6. KO Blow - Extreme damage, Knockup, Hold. Mmmm, another hold
Lvl 20
7. Rage - Self +Dmg +tohit, loss of Dmg and Def after time. Change.
8. Hurl - Finally, a ranged attack! High dmg and KB. Lvl 35
9. Foot Stomp - PBAOE, moderate Dmg, Foe KD. (And hella fun.) Lvl 38
So, our biggest potential issues are:
- Range. I don't actually consider this an issue, much. The entire primary is range, after all, and control. We could move Hurl up, perhaps.
- Taunt. Don't need it.
- Rage. Definitely don't need -def, or -dmg, even though that won't affect our primary all that much (-dmg doesn't matter to a hold's main purpose, or ice slick, for instance.)
- More AOE. If we're going to be in melee, we're going to want to hit lots of people hard and fast. At least one more AOE attack would be good.
Proposed Dominator Superstrength/Physical Assault set:
1. Jab
2. Punch
3. Haymaker
4. Shockwave. (Uses ground punch from Earth Assault's spear, perhaps.) Cone, moderate damage, KD. Send out a wave of destructive force towards your enemies.
5. Hurl - Just to get that ranged attack in earlier.
6. KO Blow
7. "Battle Fever." Essentially a mix of Consume and Drain Psyche. You drain some END from surrounding foes, the shock doing very minor damage and lowering their Rech/Recovery while raising yours. (Alternately, if a damage buff is needed, it lowers their Rech/Recov and boosts your damage for 30 sec.)
8. Spin. OK, I'm not sure what to call it, but really, a variant on Spin. PBAOE.
9. Foot Stomp.
Why the second AOE so late? By then your controls and other tricks from your primary should be keeping you from getting into too much trouble as you jump in and slam on people. So it's time to make the most of it.
It would be a somewhat different playstyle, giving up a lot of the range in other Dom secondaries (and, as you can see - no snipe,) but variation's part of what keeps the game fresh, right?
-
Stalled? I'd say it was more background than anything.
If anything, I'd say people were getting burnt out on "It's a nemesis plot." Hopefully with the Dark Watcher's arc, there aren't any more. >.< -
Quote:Agreed. You're best bet is to ask in the technical issues forum. The experts there will hopefully be able to help you. That sounds like a really strange issue.
Though...
... I'll bet will be your problem. Intel doesn't make graphics cards. They have "graphics accelerators," and they're really just not up to snuff. Some of the recent GR settings have beaten on them, as well (though I want to say they've been tweaked in a recent patch. Don't quote me on that.) There were many complaints by Intel integrated graphics owners. You may just have to lower your settings quite a bit for that to work. (Though I want to say it's normally fulcrum shift that causes issues.)Quote:a built in intel graphics card, BTW
If you can get a "real" graphics card - which will depend on the system - do so. -
Quote:/this.I'm used to pre-planning all my builds, and using taunt auras. 18 is not long before you get invincibility, especially when your defenses are still minor to be taunting.
Though, as I've said elsewhere, if you're doing this as a first tank, pick it up anyway so you learn to use it.
Of course, you can always run a "taunt" and "solo" build once you hit level 10 using dual builds.
For the OP - Nice guide. With so many people putting out level 50, purpled out billion dollar builds when people ask for advice... well, *this* is the type of guide I like to see. Something to help along the way. -
Hmmm. I should have some...
(all Memphis Bill/Pinnacle)
Best scenery:

Calling this "best use of an AOE," since this was intentional (getting a nice group together for that Glacier and immob)

mmm, trollsicles.
One for "WTH just happened?" (though it's mroe like "next time, listen to me and dont' rush it.") Just not to our benefit...

And last, one for "no I in Team," mostly because it's a nifty shot, if old.

Brickstown, from the tram to the entrance. Usually some pretty big 30-31 groups, too. (Well, mix of big and small, check the parking structure just behind the station, too.)
-
Works for me. Though I'd agree it should probably be called a "tribal" pack - not out of "let's not offend group X," but because the descriptions sound generically "tribal" or even "lost world"-ish.
I wouldn't hold out hope for the longer robes, though - the rest sounds very doable. -
Every once in a while, a character comes along and just screams out "Hey, not the face!" ... er, for a specific artist's treatment. That would be the case with my little Stone/SS tanker, Obsidian Flake.
She's called "flake" for good reason. >.>And it just seemed Drunkfu's style fit her to a T. Especially with the way he does expressions.

I find it much less annoying to pay these days, simply because of the only thing I regularly use the market for - logging out to get the WW teleporter. Quick teleport, go pay, go on my way.
Still, more ways (even locations - say, any arbiter or trainer, they should, after all, be the most trusted people around) to pay would be nice. -
Yeah, enhancements make things interesting. You're going to be looking into sets and such if/when you go to a full account. (There's some argument as to if it's "gear" or not - I don't see them that way, personally.)
Will you be able to get them solo... Yes. However, it may take time.
- Enhancements will always drop.
- Set Invention enhancement recipes will drop as well. Some will benefit you more than others - sometimes just from getting more value out of fewer slots, others from the set bonuses of having multiple pieces of the same set.
- Purple recipes are (generally) the top end. You'll see them from level 47-50. They're rare. You can get them solo - sometimes rapidly, sometimes not seeing one for months. They are, as mentioned, rare.
- PVP recipes are exceptionally rare, as they only *have a chance* to drop from other players you defeat. (No NPCs in the PVP zones will drop them, for instance.)
- You can also work up a nice bundle of INF (money/gold/whatever - it's "influence" or "infamy" here) and try to buy them on the market (Wentworths or the Black Market depending on the side you're on.) Some can get.... rather expensive. -
hmm. Nope. Not that I recall, at least. (I'd try to think of who I've seen, but other than EvilDad and the not-seen-in-a-long-time PeekABoo, I don't think I'd remember who was on what server.)

Quote:While admittedly pre-I13, my PB's Dwarf form held out against ... oh, I believe we were looking at five villains. A decent group, in any case. Couldn't kill them - couldn't put the damage out fast enough - but they took a long time to kill me. Ate three ASes at once to start.. Dwarf form can also hold out well against melee'rs, though perhaps I simply haven't encountered many l33t pvp builds.
(Need to work on my Nec/Poi and try taking you on again - been busy working on so many other characters. Fire/Kin Corr is almost at 50 now. Last of my "One (at least) of all ATs to 50" goal. The MM's still 38 or so. >.<) -

Quote:I'm using a G500, actually - for the same reason (ok, mine had a cord snag/break, and Logitech sent the 500 as a replacement.) It's a nice little mouse.
I'm mainly considering doing the direct upgrade path and getting a Logitech G500 replacement. I like the wired laser mouse I have, and the new model has a better mousewheel, while keeping the shape of my old one. But I'm taking suggestions, since I'm not well versed in the area of mice.
Other than that, the only advice I can *really* give is - if you're going with a different brand (or odd shape,) go to a physical store and try one out. Doesn't matter if it has the highest DPS, etc, etc, etc if it's uncomfortable as hell to use. -
Quote:Heh. I'll be honest, I'm randomly refreshing. (I sound like a strange soda commercial or something there.) I'm at work, and checking in on them when it's slow. The list was more a general observation.heh, I'm pretty positive I won't get a code. I won't get mad. it would be cool yes, but with my internet being slow as hell and my typing skills not so great, I can pretty much guarentee that I won't get one

but I can say I will get the pack regardless
even if it means I must shell out a few dollars for it
My only gripe when it comes to the packs - or much else - is that we still can't gift them, just apply to our own accounts. If they followed Chaos's idea above and I got one, I'd end up giving it to a friend of mine who's a bit busy with a one-year(and change)-old, but would still love it. -
How giveaways/contests are a no-win for NC/PS:
1. Give away at Herocon. "I can't go there!"
2. Give away codes. "I can't type fast."
3. Costume contest. "I suck at making costumes."
4. Graffiti contest. "Only for the art folks."
5. Movie contest. "Only for those with video skill."
6. "Just give it to random forumites" - "They're playing favourites.
7. Screenshot contest. "My video isn't good enough, of course I'd lose!"
8. Do nothing. "NC does nothing to promote the game!"
Add "it's not fair" to any of those.
Alternately... relax, enjoy, good luck, congrats if you get it, oh well if you don't. I know which approach I'm taking.
