Lvl 30 Hero Costume Mish (no lvl 30 Crey to be found)

Hey everyone, I'm on my lvl 31 Electric Magic Blaster (Thunderfang, on Champion) which is currently my highest level character so far, trying to find some level 30 crey to kill for the costume slot but all i can find is purple or red. I been to founder's falls and crey's folly, but most of the time it's either rikti or 5th column i find. When i see a crey it's too high level. I tried getting radio missions for grey but it only gives me arachnos, council, or sky raider missions. Please don't tell me i have to team up. I'm a soloist. I've teamed a few times but i prefer going at it alone. A demonstration on what i can handle; I can manage to take out a yellow elite boss but will die once and have to rez to finish it off. Anything less then that i could solo without death unless i get too much aggro.

Brickstown, from the tram to the entrance. Usually some pretty big 30-31 groups, too. (Well, mix of big and small, check the parking structure just behind the station, too.)

Generally within a 2 block radius of the Train station in Brickstown has low level Crey employees. I usually go to the apartment complex across the street from the Train station.

If you're feeling extra-brave, you can head into Crey's Folly and fight the tough crey dudes there. And you'll also be there at some point for your Aura mission as well.

Also, I like that name, Thunderfang. Good ring to it!

Thanks. I found some crey in the area around the tram in brickstown like mentioned.

I picked the name "ThunderFang" because i use electric, and i tried to look like a fox-like character. I have a villain who looks like a rat too. Just use the rat ears/tail, breather mask #4, and the bonehead face mask. Scale the face so its pointy, and presto. The rogue isles is a good place for a mutant rat to live anyway.

If you have the funds, and you're feeling frisky, the new Mutant pack is available for purchase, and has a more Fox-like tail.

Thank you, Champion.

For future reference, if you prefer to not hunt in the streets and prefer to stalk easier Crey, go to work for Phillipa Meraux (one of your contacts should introduce you).

She gives out the Corporate Culture arc, which has a lot of Crey.

You can also use the Tech store contact in Founders Falls for a Crey mission.
( and the Science store contact in Brickstown for Rikti for the level 30 Aura mission ).

1) Are you a soloist because of bad experiences, or because you philosophically prefer it? (if the former, I may have advice; in the latter case, I respect your preferences.)

2) The usual cure for really tough enemies is inspirations and lots of them. Take four purples [or if you buy from Wentworth's, two mediums will do the same] and when those run out, take four more. That's two minutes of bulletproof. There are also a lot of temp powers that may help, but those are potentially expensive. (It's easy to make money, but you didn't ask for that particular sales pitch.)

Mini-guides: Force Field Defenders, Blasters, Market Self-Defense, Frankenslotting.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Agreed with the above, Brickstown is best for lower Crey mobs - but it sounds like you might have issues with the mob sizes. Inspirations are a good idea (3 small purples at once to pump up your defence should do it, with a green or two on backup just in case).

Alternatively, what I've done with some of my squishier alts is simply wait a couple of levels to do the mission which makes it MUCH easier.

...as someone quicker than I mentioned, you've got the aura mission at level 30 as well, from the City Hall rep in Atlas Park. That requires you go beat on some Rikti, some Crey and some Devouring Earth - that one WILL be a pain in the backside at level 30. Crey's Folly is the best place to find all 3 quickly but you'll definitely want to take inspirations along or try and outlevel it first.

I either wait to 34ish or do the bricks rooftops near the Crey's gate. It's easier to run away if they're on a roof as they like to take the fire escapes and I'll just jump off if things get heated. Lots of nice fences in the are for sneaking up on those backyard spawns.

Or, just wait a few levels.

Inspirations are the key for blasters. Just buy a bunch of purples and reds and go to town.

People still do these missions? Weird. I usually just auto-complete them.

You can auto the entire extra-costume arc or just the individual hunts?

Yeah, even though I've done 'em a million times, I still do them. Feels all "milestoney".

Dec out.

It's a mixed bag really. I raid a lot in EverQuest 2 because i played it since beta and always been good at it, but for other games i tend to want to take my time and do it at my own pace till i get the hang of things. In the past in other MMOs i played, I've had bad experiences with pickup teams/groups/exc usually because of 1 guy who never learned to play or is just a really bad player. He usually gets us all killed or makes us wait a lot on him. When with someone like that i always imagine i could get through this mish/quest faster alone.

Last time I did the extra costume missions they were just the individual hunts. The cape and aura missions are different, but yes, if you are patient enough to do wait around 12 days you should be able to auto complete.

Actually, the aura mission is Freaks, Rikti, and DE. No Crey in that mission.

And it would be downright silly to waste mission drops on those. For Freaks, if you must have them low level or even con, you can go to the far end of Faultline, or hunt in Terra Volta, or run radio or contact missions for Freaks.

Rikti can be had in the Science Store mission from the contact in Bricks (or you can go pop monkies on the rooftops in Crey's Folly). Devouring Earth are found in fairly low levels on Power Island in Indy, or in Striga, or Croatoa. And I think there is at least one DE story arc in that level as well. Not sure if they appear in radio missions.

I usually take care of the Freaks and Devouring Earths at Talos. There are Freaks hanging out around the Magic and Freedom Corp stores, and DE are by just north of the gate to Dark Astoria.

For Rikti, the lowest level ones are the Rikti Monkies at Crey's Folly. When you enter Crey's Folly, just go up a block and hang a right at the first corner. Plenty of Monkies there and up on the warehouse roof tops.
