I love WS so much, and i just recently got interested in PvP. So im gonna make a PvP WS If anyone has any tips theyd like to share or anything thatd be great. Ive already looked over the pvp warshade guide to get a little idea of how thisll work. I wanna make a human form WS cuz i feel that the shapeshifting is just to slow for pvp, and the forms move to slow to catch the runaways. yeah yeah yeah ik stun them GW them but still i want a human form. I tried making a fotm toon for pvp but hes only at lvl 15. . . illl have more fun leveling a WS cuz theyre AWESOME. So yeah tips would be great. Ill post up a mids build i had in mnd, and for slotting ill just use commmon IOs and maybe some of you could help me with slotting.

So far this is what i have, im not the best at slotting so i might need a little help. Ill work on sets later but for now im just using common IOs

I really built up the shields because WS are kinda squishy without eclipse, and i like to play in SC a lot. I built him like id build a blaster so that he gets good damage and the defenses he needs.

any comments/ ideas?

When you are using common IOs, you aren't going to benefit from overslotting Recharge Reduction in Eclipse and Damage Resistance in shields. Were those placeholders for set IOs?

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Where's the damage coming from? It doesn't look like you'd be putting much damage out at all, even for a non-nova Warshade. I see Ebon Eye, Gravity Well, and Essence Drain as possible attacks.

OMG... Dont do it!!!

Seriously WS are not as good as PB's in PvP. I spent Billions building my WS to PvP and he died faster than any other toon I have ever brought into the PvP zones. I can see it if you stay in squid form and just attack from the sky. You might do ok there, but overall my all human PB plays 100x better than my WS in PvP.

as of right now im just playing around with him, he does alright in siren's which is where i do most of my pvping. Thats not the build im using i just threw that together to see if i could get in the right power pools in.

i have one at lvl 24 that i use a little in pvp and he does ok, GW almost always hits but after that the damage output isnt great. i can almost kill a stalker before it runs away. My main damage is from GW and shadow blast, i use mire to stop them from ASing me when i see them, and ebon because i had to take it. Its not great yet but im getting the hang of what i sould do. Ill throw together a serious build later.

Not taking Nova form is going to seriously handicap you, from my experience pvp'ing with a purpled shade. The single target blasts do great damage, have good range, and the fast flight are all helpful. It isn't as slow as you think. Dwarf form can also hold out well against melee'rs, though perhaps I simply haven't encountered many l33t pvp builds.

Good luck going all-human though. >.<

While admittedly pre-I13, my PB's Dwarf form held out against ... oh, I believe we were looking at five villains. A decent group, in any case. Couldn't kill them - couldn't put the damage out fast enough - but they took a long time to kill me. Ate three ASes at once to start.

(Need to work on my Nec/Poi and try taking you on again - been busy working on so many other characters. Fire/Kin Corr is almost at 50 now. Last of my "One (at least) of all ATs to 50" goal. The MM's still 38 or so. >.<)

Not to mention that the +perception IO that you can slot into Nova's form will help greatly seeing stealthed villains like widows, banes and stalkers. Well, widows and banes, anyway. A truly stealthed stalker might be a bit harder to spot.

Ive been using one of my WS in PvP and its actually not that bad. Its much better on teams, it can dish out ok damage, but they end up running away so i cant kill without help. Gravity well is the main damager and almost always hits, and deals a huge amount of damage. It recharges pretty fast too, so if i get 2 hits with it theyre dead. this is all with SO's too. I have a problem with survivability though. On a WS, what powers should i take, what IOs should i use, and anything else to get defense so im not as easy to hit. and should i slot up health? ik that if you can regenerate damage faster than your taking it your gonna stay alive but will health be enough? And remember i PvP in sirens.

alright im pretty happy with this build. The enhancements would be at lvl 30 so i could still get the bonuses in sirens, then id have a recluses victory build too. also the enhancements are a little cheaper too cuz i dont feel like spending 100 billions inf on it. Please more critique

A few points:

1) You can get lv33 IO's, which wont make a lot of difference, but every little can help.

2) Try and move Tactics earlier in the build (by lv35), perhaps moving Twilight Shield back. Stalkers will likely be one of your main threats, so spotting them is a huge bonus.

3) I would be tempted to try and squeeze in Orbiting Death, as I'm pretty sure this can be used as an early warning system for Stalkers.

4) You might need more KB protection. 41pts is the magic number. If you get KB'd then it's pretty much game over.

5) Perhaps look at some procs (+dmg,+hold) for the the quick firing ST attacks. Some of these aren't too much more expensive than normal set IO's and the increase in damage can be well worth it.

6) I would be tempted to swap the Thunderstrikes for Decimations. These aren't much more expensive and the +rchg will be much more beneficial than the +def. Defence really wont do you any good unless you can get it very high. Decimation also gives +HP which will aid your regen a little.

7) Overall slot more for +HP then +Def and still give a high priority to +rchg.

8) I would pop a Stealth IO in SS or Sprint. While it's true 90% of your opponents will have decent perception, not all will. So that occasional stealth might just give you the edge at times.

9) You might find it useful to move essence drain forward too. While not the best of heals, you don't have that many options available, so something is better than nothing.

10) Nova is surprisingly good for survivability. Damage, Range and Speed. All very important factors. Frankeslotting the ST attacks with Hamis and procs will give you amazing damage while remaining out of reach of so many. Sit back, hover and wait for the ranting to begin.

Wow thanks for the tips! I'm keeping him human form only and i asked the pvp section about the offensive toggles because I had that same idea the other day. Hey said it isn't that great :/ but thanks so much for Ll he slotting and power tips I will definatly use some of your ideas

Posted

Here's a completely human Warshade PvP build I managed to whip up because the idea interested me so.
The biggest problem i ran into doing this build was the sheer amount of toggles and how they really bogged down your endurance. This won't be as much of a problem at lvl 30 since the last 6/7 powers (post-lvl 30) are toggles. However because of this, you'll see a rather abundant supply of -end costs in all the toggles (except Maneuvers, which gives a defense buff so negligible the endurance isn't worth having it on w/ the rest of your toggles. Maneuvers is strictly for the LOTG and Karma KB).

If you go to RV, I think the best way around this is the strategic use of Eclipse. Since you are zoning, i would suggest if you're low on endurance, or are about to head into battle, find yourself a group of NPC's to eclipse on before heading in.

It's also extremely nice to have a phase tied right into your build, this is the best panic button next to Hibernate, so don't hesitate to use it to get out of a tough spot or attempt to lure/kite enemies closer to your team (They'll get greedy and think they can kill the "lolwarshade" and chase you, some completely unsuspecting a Phase.)

I got the foe TP for it's simple, nice utility. See a corrupter you can harass or bring to your teammates, or a MM that needs to be yanked from his pets.

I really built this with lvl 50 in mind, primary focuses were Recharge and Health and also reached exactly 41 points of KB protection. Also whatever Recovery bonus I could squeeze in.

Tell me what you think

I am starting to think of trying it again and do another all human WS build for PvP. When I did it the first time I selected powers that were similar to the PB's for PvP and it failed. I want to try to build it like a WS this time and not a PB.

yeah the key to the pvp ws is to build it with stalker/controller in mind..

Meaning you are going to play from the shadows the the cloak.. and steath io..

And if you build for fast recharge you can debuff someone speed like crasy.. i have not got mine to work.. but i have seen others make short work of stalkers and even doms with their shades in zones.. im currently waiting for the free server transfer to work on mines again.. i will post the build if it works out..
