I just don't see this as a good thing. Aside from the massive rewrites and *even more* potential to gut a build, it takes some of the "kick" out of the 40s. Couple extra slots at 50 - why not. This - no thanks.

Not really. Fire Control's imps are killable (easily.) Illusion control? Three untouchable pets at 18?
Not having to resummon to get them to stop running off because they HAVE to hit that boss three rooms over, primarily. Right now you can resummon or (if you have it) use Recall Friend - at which point they start running off again.Quote:I'm not really sure of what the benefit of even basic pet controls would be, but I've personally never had any real problems with them. -
Quote:Yeah. That makes zero sense. Let's see, Fitness in human form:Also is Fitness being inherent NOT a buff to human form folks?
- Buff to flight speed from Swift.
- Stamina, even unslotted, offsetting all END use.
- Increased regeneration and some sleep resist from Health.
... so far, not seeing where human form is coming out short.
Oh, wait, slots!
... wait, human form has less stuff to slot to begin with.
Yeah. Not seeing this as a problem for human form at all. (Especially with alignment merits. Two of them = Miracle unique to stick into Health if you want more of a boost, two more for the Perf. shifter unique... yeah, really, really going to be hurting there.) -

Last mouse: Logitech G5
Current mouse: G500.
Not sure how many extra buttons you use - this has got sensitivity (as well as adjustable weight) and three on the side, programmable. -
Guess:
Major changes (don't forget, this is not coming out before next year) due to finally having the "Coming Storm" storyline really hit the game, as opposed to being rumors. Zone updates (GR tech) and disruptions, finally making some use of Ouroboros and the Menders as a faction (good or evil) and seeing how they interact with the Praetorians.
Incarnate-wise.... well, don't forget, one of the things floated when we had the Skills/Invention systems early on was a group that would be difficult enough that inventions would be *needed* to deal with them. (The Battalion.)
Might be what's getting revisited, given prior difficulty comments. -
Quote:<--- 217 characters. The hero merits are pretty much how I'm planning on getting those. What's holding me back is a combination of extreme alt-itis and a casual playstyle. I only play 2-3 hours a day, if that, and I try to rotate through all my toons. I have yet to get a single hero/villain merit on any toon, but I have managed to switch some of them to Rogue/Vigilante. Eh, there's no rush.

Quote:Should be do able quickly - are you running your tip missions and staying on alignment? 2 Hero merits.Once you spend a billion inf to IO out a toon it can probably handle anything, no matter what its powersets are. I'm still scraping together enough merits to get Sponge a Miracle +Recovery IO.

(And I really have to get working on my Dark/SS tank. Mid-20s.) -
Quote:<technicality>Not actually the devs job. </technicality>Maybe if enough people post in this thread, the devs will fix the server status page lol

Hmm. I've got some movies I haven't watched... could rewatch some Firefly. There's always Netflix on demand, or Hulu... -

Picts or it didn't happen!

Quote:Whew, I get to disagree with EG.Makes no sense that a leader of a band of thugs has more control over his/her subordinates than a person who creates animated incarnations of their will and control over the basis of their power.

That, actually, is precisely what's behind the naming difference (and control difference.) The henchmen are (supposed to be) intelligent, independent beings who can handle more complex orders. (Go there, attack them, get my coffee.) Pets are not. Even masterminds get pets they are not allowed to control - Dark Servant specifically comes to mind here, but Force Field Generator (for instance) is also a "pet" we can't control - despite it showing in the "pets" window.
If any pet type should have the same amount of control (thematically) as a Mastermind does over their minion, it would be the Patron pool pets. You are, again, summoning an independant, thinking being (Coralax, Mu mystic, Widow or Arachnobot) and - unlike controller pets - they're short duration, long recharge, so a tradeoff that allows you to give them orders would not really step on MM toes.
Controller pets, if they get any orders at all, SHOULD be simpler - "Stop, Go, Come here." I'd say we already have proof this wouldn't be a big issue *now* because (some) controllers already do this with Recall Friend, to a point. (And if any set would fall under "gamebreaking with full command," it would be Illusion. Blame that.)
Edit: Dammit, EG, don't agree with that last part while I'm still writing it! /moves doomsday clock slightly closer to "midnight" -
Yeah, there are 1-2 existing threads on this. Happens to me continually*, regardless of browser. It's rather irritating.
*continually = sometimes once a day, sometimes several times a day, sometimes I'll go an entire day without it happening, but often enough to be an expected annoyance. -
And what about those of us who are altaholics and still want more costume slots?
I'd prefer just "Give us more costume slots."
-
-
You want meaningless, how about throwing something useful in the "x% debt protection" slots. >.>
-
Told long ago that this wouldn't happen. Pets are not henchmen, and henchie control is the Mastermind schtik.
(That said, I'd still like at least a minimal "ignore that and come over here.") -

You could also just PM Avatea and ask. They must have something set up - they do give away codes, after all.

Quote:Trip mine - the name itself tells what would trigger it (a trip"wire") which in the power's case appears to be a laser trigger.I don't think you can really *drop* a trip mine without it blowing up :P.
Dropping it would not set it off. You could likely drop a pressure mine, depending on the setting, height, etc. and not set it off. -
Quote:As stated before, not buying this pack, as I don't think it's a good value for what it delivers. But with the quotes above, Nether - they had all the feedback in the announcement of the pack with quite a number saying "If it were cheaper, I would buy it." "I'm going to buy it" and "I absolutely won't no matter what the cost" seemed to be the minority responses there. It still represents an investment of resources that requires a profit to justify.
If they priced it 4.99 they'd move more units that pricing it 7.99, so why didn't they?
I presume they have a clear understanding of the demand ceiling for this product and priced it accordingly.
<trim>
Widening the appeal increases costs.
If lowering the price would indeed 'maximize revenue' they'd do it- why wouldn't they?
I'm seeing it as an experiment to see if narrowly focused packs have an audience. If they wanted to go through the rigamarole of making a full pack, they'd have done it. There's a reason this one only has emotes and packs a seemingly outsized price tag.
Market research? They had it in that thread. A boatload of it. And it wasn't acted on - either by increasing what's in the pack, or lowering the price of it. So you'll excuse me if I can't buy that as an excuse.
