  1. Well, he shows up with the bounty encased in carbonite AND provided the wall-hangers? That kind of professionalism doesn't come cheap, you know. For going that extra parsec, Mr. Fett deserves his asking price. One has to wonder where you buy wall hangers for human encased in carbonite, though. I'd think that'd be rare.
  2. Like the others have said, don't know her, but I hope she makes it out okay. Brain surgery is serious so I wish her the best and good luck, although I hope it doesn't come down to luck.
  3. I believe I've run into three other Danes on the US servers, two of them are RL friends. I have no latency issues whatsoever, and CoH is not one of those twitchy games that requires silly low latency. I mean I'll happily play City of Heroes on a US server, but I'd rather not play Super [name redacted] 4 against a US player since fighting games have a whole other need for timing and issues with lag.

And if someone has a problem with me playing on the US server, it's their problem. They can just log off when I log on, I won't miss them.

While the robot apocalypse had been predicted by many, it was still unexpected that it would happen in the form of a musical.

Also, I didn't know the Vocaloids had a concert. That's pretty fun. Surprisingly, it seems to work pretty well, too. It's pretty amazing how popular those things have become, considering that they're just moe personifications of a vocalization software. They are pretty cute, though, and the technology behind them is kind of impressive.

Not to say anything bad about Lando in a cape, there is one other character that pulls off the cape look pretty well. Although he is more machine than man now, I'd say Darth Vader still counts even if someone should tell him that it doesn't hurt to have a few accents in your all-black clothes.

My version of explaining JRPGs: The main character has a sword, Sleep spells never work, the lead female is always a healer with a staff, and 16 year old kids are better at combat than even the most battle hardened space-marine.

    The End.
It's the usual. If you're unable to find half a dozen teenagers who are surprisingly good with weapons, you'll have to send in the space marines. But only as a plan B, as those six kids can take on half the world and win, with only 0-1 narratively appropriately casualties, and that may or may not be undone by sidequest. Space marines get it done, too, but at a much higher casualty rate.

It makes sense to send in the teenagers first, it's a proven strategy.
  7. This is the first profanity filter I've been unable to beat for a name. I mean it even filters out swear words in Danish. I approve!

I just went with "Dude". That's always good for a laugh when the entire world start sounding like surfers. Why are these kind of heroes always living with just their mother, though? It's almost getting cliche.

  9. The Hero Respec Mission in Terra Volta is mine. I played it when it was new and terrifying. Got my FF/Energy Defender invited onto a team that had failed it repeatedly and pretty much aced the thing thanks to being able to bubble the reactor core. This was pre-ED, pre-GDN bubbles, mind you, so that thing must have had three digit +Def.

I don't think my bubbler had gotten more thank yous and respect than that single mission. It was glorious. Since then, it's been a personal favorite of mine, running it even when I didn't need a respec, just because I could.

    hybrid names

The first thing that popped into my head was "Dual Welder" for a DB/Fire Scrapper. Unfortunately, there's no blowtorch option for dual blades.

Another one I used for a temporary name on the Training Room was "Gunsinger". Gunslinger + singer. A Sonic/DP Defender styled as a glamorous wild west era singer wielding two revolvers.

And...? Spring the trap, it's the heroic, if slightly stupid, thing to do. Obi-Wan Kenobi taught me that one.
  12. It's a 9 for me. I've got a Scrapper who might benefit from Hasten, but I'm not taking it until I can color it blue. The Defender in my signature is Magic, and if she could swap out the Medicine tricorder for something less tech, she would in a heartbeat.

So, yes, I really want this. There's not a lot that I'd put ahead of it, not even the Incarnate system. Power Customization as it is, is really nice, but it's only half-done. The pools need to be customizable as well.

Thanks, also point of hilarity: I've almost gained the 10 million Inf badge on that character. Yeah... They should let you buy those. Actually, that would be a good way to destroy some more Inf. Some badgers would definitely go for it.

It is pretty interesting that after all this is said and done, I've destroyed more Inf from the game than my character had to begin with AND quadrupled her Inf on hand.
  14. So I finally sold the last of my Merit conversions and I'm pretty happy with the results. After counting conversion (60 million) and crafting expenses, I'm still up over 200 million from where I started. Best part is, it's repeatable. Every time I get a pile of Merits or Hero Merits, I can do this all over again.

Now to find out what to do next, I could spend the Inf, sure, but I could also invest them... I'll have to look around and see if I can find something that's worth crafting or flipping. I'm still a little new at that part, but I might have found a little something.
  15. I'm kind of curious as to what other answers people gave. I want to see if I've been out MacGyvered on them. Maybe on a few.
  16. Filled one in, too. I may come off as a big boyscout in that, but that's the superheroic me.

Go a lot of mileage from the last freeform input, though. In my opinion this survey is skewed far too much towards fighting crime. Superheroes do more than that. So I added what I thought was missing.
  17. Eh, the real money is in being a beloved superhero... and then making sure to have all IP rights to toys, movies, video games, comic books and all other kinds of things that your face could be put on for profit.

Make people love you and then sell merchandise. At a reasonable price, of course.

You're saying that as if that's supposed to stop us from being suspicious of Statesman. Our Statesman is the ONLY known Marcus Cole that isn't evil. That's more than enough to be suspicious of him. Especially since one is a Nazi and the other a dictator.
  19. Villain Story Arc. Vs. Lord Recluse. I took him down, I dinged 50.

Yeah, I did that on purpose, too. It suddenly seemed like it could be possible to do, so it had to be done that way. Other than that, no. It's usually been in the company of a couple of my SG mates and then dinging 50 somewhere during a mission.

Maybe I should sit on level 49.99 for my next one until I get to call in a Story Arc. Then run to Ms. Liberty and ding 50 there. Nah, too self-indulgent. Would be funny, though.

That's a few steps ahead, I think. I still have a lot of alts that's been eyeing some sets that were just plainly out of reach. I'm going to take care of that first. I doubt I'll go purple on any of them, though. Not that I doubt I'd be able to afford them, I just don't think they're worth the asking price for what they do. (Of course, if other people do, and I end up in a situation to exploit that, then I'm going to ask that price, too.)
  22. I just want to say thanks to you guys for helping me with this merit pile. If what I think is true, I'll end up with about 300 million profit on it. Which is about double the total Inf I had across my entire account before looking into the market. I'm keeping quiet on what IO I did this with, since I'm doing it again tomorrow. Well, maybe with a different one, I'll have to check the daily prices.

And when that sale goes through... I'll have enough Inf to just buy popular recipes and turn them into profitable IOs. Yes, that would work out quite nicely indeed. Maybe I should shoot for a billion Inf on this one, just to see if I can. There's nothing my Scrapper can't beat with a decent dose of Insps, anyway, so her set IOs can wait a little longer. Maybe even until the I19 respec. Besides, she just became my richest character, by far.

Heh, a week or two ago I wouldn't even think of shooting for a billion, but now I'm tossing it out casually.

In any case: "Hi! I'm McNum, ebil marketeer in training."
  23. Well, here goes. I bought a [redacted] and put it up for sale at 5/6th the price it sold the last five times. Didn't sell immediately, didn't expect it to, but mine is the only one for sale at the moment, so I figure it'll be gone by this time tomorrow. If not, I'm leaving it there over the weekend before doing anything.

It's such a weird feeling to craft something awesome, wonder how this would benefit my character, and then putting it up for sale. It was my first awesome loot, apart from HOs, that I've had on any character, and I just put it up for sale at a moderately expensive price. I hope it works out as I want it to. I think it will, [price redacted] isn't that much to ask for a [redacted]. At least I didn't find it silly, and I'm a cheapskate.

Once the sale has gone through, I might edit this post to show what I did, but I'd rather not tip my hand here. This is Flipper country.

Well. the "Praetoria: NONE" part seems like a suspiciously specific denial. If nothing has happened, why make a patch note pointing that out?

There is also the possibility that the costume fixes for females and the removal of the I19 auras were priority fixes.
  25. Hmm, I'm apparently better at this than I thought. That whole "get Inf for conversions" thing was done before I logged in. I've learned the first golden rule of ebil.

Golden rule of ebil #1: "People are willing to pay a premium on pre-crafted IOs. Let them!"

In any case, things are looking promising. I've never really dealt in the higher-end IOs before, especially the most wanted ones (if you want to see what poor drop luck looks like, look at me), so this is getting fun. The thought of making a LoTG 7.5% that my scrapper could really use, and then selling it is a little off-putting, but that one LoTG could turn into seed money for 5.

Golden rule of ebil #2: "Patience is a rare virtue. And the lack of it in others can be exploited for a ton of Inf."

In any case, thanks for the advice, I'm converting Merits to H-Merits now and selling crafted drops to fund the conversion. It seems to work out.
