Quote:... direly quench it? If you say so.
*takes OP, sets in parking lot, signals mutliple cargo planes to dump full cargo holds of water on him.*
That better?
I have to point out that all I can picture is a blaster throwing wooden rods at someone.
/notreallyfororagainst.
Heh heh... you said rods.

Quick brainstorm for a Group Fly replacement
Eagle Eye + Range +To Hit +Perception
Your mastery of the skies has truly made you synonomous with the term "death from above". Your vision is increased allowing you to focus in on targets from a greater range with unerring accuracy and in some cases to see hidden foes. The increased perception is a constant buff while the +range and +to hit buffs only apply while in flight.

I am down with the OPs power set suggestions but I would also like to see an Escrima set for the melee archetypes and a swinging travel power. Yes I realize that the latter is not possible with the current but I sitll want it and will mention it when appropriate.

Quote:/signed for the Reverse Respec idea. Exemping was one of the first stumbling blocks that came to mind in regards to a Freeform Respec.Definitely. I get so annoyed when I exemp and find out that I took powers at dumb times when I respec'd, lol. We need two major options when respec'ing: Respec from lvl 1, or Reverse Respec. The reverse respec option could be to step back one level at a time, alternating slots and powers as necessary, until you get to the point you want, then add them back in the new order you want. This would keep your respec from screwing up your functionality when you exemp down to a low level.

If the point of the exercise is to foster more teaming than I would suggest that they offer badges for teaming (which they may already do) and that the teaming badges can be combined for an accolade that increases your XP slightly while teamed.

Since the Fifth Column are the in game equivalent of the Third Reich I think it would be cool to explore the premise that Hitler was looking into the occult as a way of powering his war machine.
I would love to see the Fifth Column be redone as mainly using a gritty looking steampunk meets the occult kind of technology. Lots of wrought iron, blown glass (for sundry liquids or gases), pulleys, gears, cables and bellows that harness supernatural forces.
Change the war wolves from actual werewolves into soldiers wearing wolf themed battle armor complete with snapping jaws, give the vampyrii a single glove wired to a back pack that allows them to control the dark forces at will. The remaining soldiers would need similar tech overhauls for their weapons and armor while the robotic minions would be more along the lines of golems.

Quote:Actually it is not. When you jump, you effectively launch your center of balance (upper body for men and hips for women) toward your target and then move your base (in our case; feet and legs) under your center of balance for the landing. No one taught you how to jump like that, it's just the natural mechanics of the human body.As for the whole bipedal center of balance argument, bull feathers..

We've beaten this horseflesh before and I doubt that we will ever see a new AT like this because it already arguably exists as an epic archetype and it would be difficult to balance without being similar to existing archetypes. That being said this thread has me thinking that a DP/EM blapper might be a whole lot of fun!

Gotta agree with MajorDecoy. While your character, for whatever reason you choose, may be able to move much faster by loping on all fours their natural center of balance is still that of a bipedal humanoid therefore when they jump they will naturally try and keep their feet below them for the landing.
Even Beast of X-Men fame who loped on all fours was wont to jump in an upright position.

Quote:The empty and derelict state of the Blueside zones has less to do with how many there are or the content that they hold and more to do with how the player base interacts with the content of a given zone. The tip missions and police scanner are a step in the right direction but they need to be more organic like the bank missions where stopping crimes in progress leads to one off instanced missions or start existing story arcs. For example stopping a band of Vahzilok from raiding the local morgue leads to a tip that begins the Patient Zero story arc.Because Blueside so badly needs more zones that can swiflty become empty and derelict because they have no damn content in them!
Oh, wait...
Move the destructible environment out of the bank missions and into the zones and then attach badges to protecting certain objects or cleaning up the streets in the individual areas of the zones. Who doesn't want an Evil Dead badge for helping the vigilante Ash Campbell to clean up Raimi Arcade?

Quote:Fantasy zone? DJ Zero is one of the most powerful mutant supers alive. Not interested in world domination or heroism, he created a pocket dimension using his powers and built a night club in it. DJ Zero is his own bouncer: anyone who makes trouble gets teleported into their own personal pocket dimension... with nothing else in it.
That's right! Chuck Norris got his head handed to him by DJ Zero. He literally teleported Chuck's head off of his shoulders and gave it back to him.

Why not the Celtic pantheon to tie in with some of the Croatoa content?

Quote:In my mind, this would only work if each pistol was some sort of collection of steam punk-esque components like the legacy rifle to explain the different sounds heard based on the type of bullet being used. The bang of a gun is the sound of the muzzle blast as the bullet is fired from the gun rather than the sound of the bullet reacting with the air around it.Sooo people want laser guns, guns that can fire all their favorite power-sets... Here's a compromise I came up with.
Can we get different sound effects for the different ammo types?
If my character has incendiary rounds, maybe sound effects from the Fire Blast set, Cold Blast for Cryo Rounds?, and Maybe radation blast, energy blast, or poison for the Chem rounds
As an added bonus it'd be just one more indicator to let you and everyone around you know what ammo you're using.
Quote:Personally, I'd like an option where I'm actually shooting the guns, as opposed to juggling them.
Quote:Personally, I would just like to have the "silenced" sound effect that the PPD Ghosts use as an option when using the silencer pistol types. The different colors of flight are enough for me to tell the difference in what I'm shooting.

I've always thought that it would be cool if new zones were added to the game as hazard zones and then after a certain amount of time or player effort they would revert to city zones with new hazard zones added on for further exploration.
Imagine Faultline/Overbrook with gleaming, terraced city blocks built into the cliff walls over looking the newly formed lake below Overbrook Dam. The sparkling waters hide a sinister secret as the newest underwater hazard zone!
Or Dark Astoria being mostly a city zone with the occasional spooky occurrence (strange ghostly laughter, unexplained shadowy figures and a smattering of wandering NPCs drvien mad by the horrors they have seen) and random zombie attacks as the undead pour out of the Moth Cemetery hazard zone with Adamastor leading the charge!

Quote:/signed!I'd like to see them give us more personal customization of a character's core animations. I'm talking about:
*Run style: regular run, ninja run, beast run, really fast walk, constant hover
*Idle animation: breathing, not breathing, hunched over, crouching, floating
*Death animation: regular, ragdoll, Carnival-style "soul escape," fading like a ghost, exploding like a Tarantula.
Those three should do it.

Hmmm, so that's a no then?
Ah well, it seemed like a good idea. *shrug*

Objective feedback: I was disappointed that a beastly claws option wasn't added to the Claws weapon choices and that a bare foot with claws option wasn't added to Boots.
Subjective feedback: I love Beast Run! It's something that I have been wanting to see for the longest time and it doesn't disappoint!
I'd like to see more human/animal hybrid heads (i.e. feline face) that include similar customization as the current beast heads. And a prehensile monkey style tail would be great too!

Quote:Not every attack, only those that cause collateral damage. Avoiding collateral damage just adds a new wrinkle to the game. The main idea is to create an influence sink of some sort and something like this would be very effective. The amount isn't the issue at this point, it's the fact that every attack is costing me. And if you want a level it *does?* Level 6. Kheldians get Nova. PBs do knockback, Nova has two AOE attacks. Yeah. No thanks.
^ -
Quote:Actually single target attacks that cause knockback could cost you as well.So. I'm sent with my Fire/SS tank to hunt Carnies, for instance. They spawn in a good size group. Fighting them, basically every non single target attack costs me?
No, thanks.
Again, the numbers would need to be tweaked to find a happy medium of risk versus reward, also bear in mind that INF is plentiful at the level that you start getting sent to hunt Carnies.
^ -
Let me preface this suggestion with the admission that I realize there may be a lot of work involved in making something like this work. That being said I still believe that it would be both a popular game feature and an effective influence sink.
The idea is to allow the environment destruction of the mayhem missions to exist in city zones. Fighting could possibly cause damage to the environment (splash damage from AoEs, players and mobs colliding with objects when knocked back, direct environmental damage from powers like Foot Stomp, Burn, Fault, etc.) and characters will be responsible for any collateral damage that they caused and pay for it with influence, infamy and information. Expand the damageable item to things like windows, fences, trees, etc. and maybe even the wandering NPCs.
The numbers will have to be tweaked to find a happy medium between the INF earned for defeating the mobs and the cost of the collateral damage. I’d personally like to see it be at a level where players need to be smart about their offense in order to avoid an INF deficit.
