Random whine about "the good old days" before power X was nerfed and how the devs hate archetype Y!

    Taunt. Why not?

Taunt is a tool that enhances a tanker's natural ability to draw and hold aggro. It also alllows a tanker to grab the aggro of a specific group of targets if necessary.

Whether or not it is required depends solely on one's playstyle and preference. I personally am of the mindset that one can never have too many tools so I always take Taunt. Of course as always, YMMV.

    Rock Armor.

I have a Stone/Ice Tanker in the 40s and only use Granite as a panic button. Of course the Stone/Ice combo is highly survivable without having to resort to Granite so YMMV based on your secondary.

The whole "Perma-Granite" tanker thing is not a new phenomenon. Raise your hand if you remember the days of the Perma-Unstoppable tanks...

I believe that something like this may be in the works. Some time ago Brawler asked how many folks would be interested in losing the current look of Granite Form for a more customizable look. Per his post it's one or the other, we can't have both.

So that will leave Invln/ and DA/ for whats left in my Tank Builds.
I would highly suggest Invy/Stone. I played the combo to 50 and it is a seriously fun mix of survivability and SMASH!

Though not a tank related suggestion, if you are looking for a lot of fun with electric based melee attacks look up Mystic Amethyst's Electricity^3 guide. I've played my E3 blaptroller all the way to 50 and it was a hoot all the way!

Seriously though, I've had heaps of fun with my WP/EM but it's a little off the beaten path since I have selected powers and slotting around the idea of creating a speedster rather than a tank.

I would think that Shield Defense would be a good choice since it will eventually help to shore up your damage numbers.

  8. Same as always....

Make tankers the group melee experts by replacing their single target attacks with more AoE, PBAoE and cone style attacks.

    Talking Cakes!!

    Congratulations!

I would suggest that you use the city scape silhouette from the CoH logo as an inspriation for the cake itself, use some of the CoH themed HeroClix figures or fondant to add some of the canon characters and then place your own characters on the lower level side by side in heroic poses.

Sorry to disagree with you, but DP applies to multiple ATs while DS only applies to one, and GR applies to the entire game. You know what they say about the needs of the many...

Not sure where the halfway point is, either. Somewhere in the 30s still sounds right to me, but that's just a gut feeling.
    Agreed...

I tend to use Double XP weekends in much the same way. It's not always just to hit 50 though, I'll jump from character to character getting to that one key power or just to pop them up a level. Occasionally I'll use Double XP weekends to try out a new character concept and get them over the low level hump.
