It's been a while since I did one of these.
Quote:I usually used my tank on these and spent the entire time pulling stuff into the middle, but I reserve Monday nights for my current "Horde" toon (which hit 50 tonight!), so I spent more time dying instead. haha.we nabbed about 550 Vanguard Merits off the raid. Not the personal best I've ever done, but not bad at all.
On these raids, it's VERY possible to clear the bowl before the next respawn. And we were.
\
When that happens, the aggro-grabbers want to head up out of the bowl to the bomb lanes to pick up some of the groups of enemies out there. Then lead them back to the bowl. As few as three durable aggro grabbers can boost a raid's VM output by 50-150 VMs this way.
Like you said, the more Rikti coming in, the more merits available. Back in the day, me and a few other regulars were getting into the 800s easily. I was surprised that with all the new AoE powers that we didn't get that much tonight, but a handful of people kept disconnecting and/or complaining of lag, so that probably had a bit to do with it too.
Either way, it was fun to do it again! Hit 590 Merits, and stuck around for a second round for a total of about 1050 for the night. I spent a lot of time coming back from hospital and lost out on at least 100 or so (compared to teammates). Other people hit about 1300 for the night. Nice job everybody! -
Quote:Slight correction to this..You must be at least level 35 and a member of Vanguard to receive Vanguard merits.
Unless it's been changed/fixed, "ineligible" characters will still be awarded (10?) Vanguard Merits for planting a bomb on the ship. I don't see this "bug" documented on the Wiki anywhere, but I only took a quick look.
But this doesn't change the fact that if you want more than just a few and get the most out of the event, it's a good idea to have the prerequisites anyway. -
Quote:That does absolutely nothing to prove your case, considering it specifically mentions Leagues as the problem. Destiny is only one small category of buffs. And it's not so much "flawed thinking," It's fact: http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/pat...es_-_5311.html
It seems to me, instead of telling everybody to stop using buffs, it would have been more beneficial to simply drop the league into teams.. since that was the actual problem.
PS- CoH is a fun game..
..and I still love BuNNeHs! -
Does this mean Turg wins everything?... or was it over 600 words? lol

I just checked a toon I have not used in a while. My Recent Badges tab showed that I was awarded the badge the moment I logged in, but I did NOT get the splasher screen, nor a notification in the reward chat.

I had a similar experience a long time ago as well. I was trying to finish up all my old contacts and arcs so I could pick up Maria's AV arc (this was before Ouro even came out), and I ended up doing the same exact arc twice, from 2 different contacts. I don't think I had them both at the same exact time, but I did them back to back from each other anyway.
On a side note, you might be thinking of Hailey's Comet that comes around every 75 years. Total Eclipses happen at least every year... unless you are referring to the total eclipse happening at the same exact location, then it's probably closer to every 400 years. lol -
Quote:You don't necessarily have to grind through the actual missions. Try dropping the tips and picking up new ones until you get the right missions. Then you wont have to wait for them to expire before trying again either.I've been grinding tip missions like it's my job and I STILL haven't seen any of the ones with Maelstrom. None!
Anyone have any advice?
Also, try asking in your server's badge channels if anybody has the mission already. -
Quote:Not necessarily... Before they started automatically asking us which account we want to upgrade with the new code, it would only add the code to our master account. Then we would have to open the account we want to add it to and press Upgrade, and then select the new code from the available list. One of the problems is that you have to select a game account to apply the code to and that is probably difficult to implement using a shopping cart system.
If they went to a cart system for multiple code purchases at once, it would probably just work the same way again... although I doubt they would do that because they might consider it an inconvenience to the customers who only buy single codes and don't realize they will have to take the extra step to apply the code to their game account.. which is probably why it was changed to the current way to begin with. -

Quote:I think the easiest way to explain this is the fact that you have the emote before you started moving forward./bind r "emote flypose3 $$ ++forward"
I'll have Fly active, tap r, and start moving forward, but with no flypose.
Try this:
/bind r "++forward$$emote flypose3" -
Quote:One minor correction, the default for W is "+forward", not "++forward". Using two +'s would make it work like an Autorun toggle instead of forward while pressed.Something else you could try is:
/bind W "++forward$$em flypose1"
(If I got that wrong, someone please correct me!)
The first part is what's normally bound to W, the second is your flypose, which will be ignored if you're not flying (note: for flyposes, Hover does NOT count as flying). Change the number if you want a different flypose. And if you use the arrow keys instead of WASD, I think the keyname is UP. -
I'm in for these again.. I hope I remember to sign on this time. *embarrassed

I've found it better to only level pact with a single character at a time, and/or only when those characters are part of a regular group that meets at specific times to play together.
The reason for this is because with so many characters with a pact at the same time, it's unlikely you'll be able to play them all equally. This results in your pact partners playing more than you do, and doing "most of the work". That hinders their own progression and because half their XP is going to you. It's not fair to them and they may break the pact.
Sticking to only a couple at a time or with a regular group ensures you'll have time to spend on that character and "do your part" to make the pact a success.
YMMV -
As for the OP's issue:
I've seen this happen before as well.
When we log into a character, information like keybinds and window status (open/close, size, color, position) is all loaded to our client. All that information is specific from character to character and is not contained in any files on our computer. The keybinds.txt file in your directory is only there to help us save and load our default keybinds. It does not necessarily reflect the keybind status of any particular character on the server. It's from the client that the keybinds then allow us to control our character, BUT when we change a bind, it saves on the client, but not necessarily on the character's file on the server. I haven't been able to figure out why it doesn't always save, but there may be a way to fix it... or at least it's worked for me in the past..
My theory is that the keybinds saved on the server become corrupted in some way, causing it to no longer accept certain changes, so the best thing to do is start from scratch!
Log into the affected character and make any appropriate changes to your binds that you see fit.
Then immediately (without zoning or logging off) do a /bindsavefile character.txt
That will save the binds the client is currently using to a file.
Go to the keymapping options menu and click on the red "Reset Keybinds" button.
That should erase any custom binds from your character's file on the server and replace it with a clean version the default binds as if you never made any changes the first day you logged in.
(Note: Loading a bind file does not replace the existing file, but simply rewrites only the keys listed in that file.)
After you have reset the character, log off immediately (and close client) and wait about 15-20 minutes to ensure the character is logged off and saved properly on the server.
Log back in and load your custom file: /bindloadfile character.txt
To hopefully ensure the binds save onto the server, log off (and close client) again and wait some period of time to ensure your new binds are saved.
Log back in and enjoy the character the way you designed it.
15-20 minutes may not even be necessary each time, but I'd rather not take any chances of the the character being stuck in limbo and forced offline when you log back in. -
Quote:it's also acting like my shift key is stuck so with every keypress I use powers in my second tray instead of the first.Quote:This happens to me too, but with alt/ctrl instead, mostly when I alt-tab out of the game. I couldn't tell you a technical reason for WHY it happens, but tapping alt/ctrl fixes it.
Like you mentioned, pressing Alt again will fix it. That's because CoH will then witness you pressing Alt, and then releasing it, which will "unstick" the status of that key. -

I can bring somebody along for this.. one of the usual suspects.

Bah I had 8:30 written down for this.. but that's tomorrow's.
See you then! -

Quote:I was going to bind getlocalname as well, but then I realized there wasn't much of a point for the way I would use it.Ah, see, I have a /popmenu for getting names. It can /getglobalname $target, /beginchat /getlocalname , and beginchat /getglobalname . I don't use the second one much.
For example, if somebody is right in front of me where I could target them, I already know their local name. If it's somebody in a global channel I'm trying to find, I can click on the name in the chat to get GetGlobalName anyway.
On a side note, I haven't found much love for PopMenu yet. I'm just a bind junkie! lol -
