Side Speciific Badges

It's been awhile since have done any serious badge'ing (always falling behind I am) and here I am scratching my head as to which ones are needed before I can "Go HOME"... (Badger is currently Vigilante and Rogue would be desired "Home alignment")

So, What badges can only be earned while on "the other side" ?

  • 6 Side Specific Day Job badges
  • ? Named AV/Hero kills (PvP RV badges that can also be obtained during Previous Anniversaries that are as of this year not going to be annually done) ?

Other hard to get by yourself if on 'the other side':
Safeguard / Mayhem badges
Any Ouro Pillar Missions
Respec Badges

Snow, ty for the link. Unfortunately it doesn't answer the question Can you provide an answer here possibly??

I will provide some feedback to that post here for you Snow, hopefully becomes "tit-for-tat" and not "fall on death ears" like my question.

This supposed to be a Wiki? I.e. organic and "Living" ? Cause this shows how far out of date:

Just hope my poor badger won't be a Vigilante forever and never obtain badges like [Come Full Circle.badge] (why switch over till can earn everything can on the "other side" first...?)

The Anti-Matter Collision / The Instant Army is Tina's arc. It has Clockwork in it. However, these can also be hunted in Praetoria, so it is not considered a hero side only badge.

A Hero's Epic is Maria's arc. It has Resistance, Clockwork, and Seers in it. Like above, these can also be hunted in Praetoria, so it's not side specific.

As for the respec badges, the information in the link is old. You can now earn all 6 respec badges (3 on each side). To be clear, you need to run each level range respec to get the respective badge. IE, you must run the 24-33 respec, the 34-43 respec, and the 44-50 respec.

As for more information, you may want to visit http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page (Paragon Wiki) for any more information you may need.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

umm.... it EXACTLY answers the question you posted. I followed the link and it lists the badges that are restricted by alignment. Did you mean to ask something different?

the respec badges can be earned as a rogue

Correct, except for possilby during anniversary zone events where the Devs flood non-PvP zones with GMs and AVs... (which they said they are not doing this year anyway).

Would you suggest hunting them in Praet vs. doing them in Hero Ouro?

Considering there are ZERO teams available for the 24-33 Blueside Respec [b]WST[b], I would like to know if this content is dead to me and badge'ing is also by Default dead to me and a waste of time / one less thing to do in this game...

I have done all 3 on my BADGER while Vigilante alignment previously and have received ZERO of the blueside ...
I will have to do them again guess

Ty Frosty, don't mean to sound Snippish but 'providing links' not actual answers just pisses one off... Especially when said links have FAILed so many times before. Redside content got a big boost, on that site, when GR came out and the Bluesiders "experienced Redside for the 1st time" but it still fails on so many levels it isn't funny)

  • Fire Thorn Caster

  • Intern
  • Police Chief
  • Security Chief
  • Traveler
  • Entrepreneur
  • Scientist
  • Heroic
  • Received the Atlas Medallion*

Quote:
Are there more Day Job badges to collect?
Heroes can get 6 more Day Job badges from locations that only exist in the Rogue Isles and Villains can get 6 more Day Job badges from locations that only exist in Paragon City and the Shadow Shards. You can get credit for these as a vigilante or rogue, but the badges for these locations will only be granted when you fully switch sides.

Quote:
Where are these locations?
As a Vigilante you can earn credit (but not the badge) for:

  • Pilot
  • Crey Employee
  • Arachnos Agent
  • Smuggler
  • Arachnos Official
  • Demagogue

As a Rogue you can earn credit (but not the badge) for:

  • City Official
  • Law Enforcer
  • Commuter
  • Shop Keeper
  • Dimensional Explorer
  • Intern

Any accolades linked with these badges cannot be earned until you are on the appropriate side. In other words 6 x 21 more days of getting day job progress AND the need to fully switch sides.
I would suggest in the future that if you accuse someone of not answering your question that you might want to actually read the response you were given.

Well you obviously didn't read the FAQ section, you know the post I directly linked to. I never claimed it was a wiki or that it was "organic and 'living'". I did say that your answers to side specific badges were there. Badge information changes very infrequently. Even most of the information in the Badge FAQ from Issue 8 is still accurate. No, that isn't a living document, but I haven't found the time to deal with it either.

It isn't a wiki article, but it does have accurate information in that specific post. Admittedly with Issue 20 the six respec badges should be taken off that list. Otherwise it is accurate.

Up until the beginning of Issue 20, you couldn't get respecs from both sides. That doesn't invalidate the rest of the side specific badges.

Perhaps me giving you the link to the official list from Black Scorpion would help:
Concerning Hero and Villain-only Badges

As you can see, the official list is nearly identical to mine. Why don't you get mad at Black Scorpion for not keeping his list up to date?

You might have also did a forums search as the same question came up on April 11th:
Hero turned villain, what do I need to know, badge-wise?

Well throwing a fit over someone that gives you the answers you ask for will help immensely with that.

The side specific badge info hasn't changed (aside from the respec badges). It doesn't matter if the post is old or not.

I'd do the Apex & Tin Mage for the Praetorian Clockwork, Maria's new arc for Seers and Resistance, and the Praetorian Zone events for the rest of the Praetorian specific defeat badges:

Nova Praetoria zone event for Destroyers and Seers.
Imperial City zone event for Syndicate
Neutropolis zone event for Ghouls, Failed Experiments, Praetorian Police Department

Yes, because the change only happened when Issue 20 went live. That is, it went live April 5th, 2011. Badge information doesn't change often. However putting forth a tiny bit of effort on your part would have given you the information you were looking for.

From other posters, maybe. Whenever I provide a link, I always link to accurate information. Feel free to ask any long time reader of this section about me.

I've always found that if people actually have to put forth a bit of effort to get an answer that they remember it better than if they are just handed it. Perhaps you might want to think about that instead of getting sarcastic and rude next time.

GROSS exaggeration. I've done two of them since Issue 20 and didn't have a problem assembling a team. Seriously, you only need 4 people to start it.

So what, EVERY TIME someone asks this question, someone is expected to type out the full description? Get over yourself.

We're lucky that we have someone like Snow Globe that goes through the effort to catalog these badges and the conditions under which you can and can't get them in a user-friendly way.

Since that link DID answer your questions, I believe it's your ability to read that "FAILed."

Don't be surprised when you find that the badge community doesn't jump to arms to help you collect any badges you might need a team to help with. And don't worry about getting another response like this from me, because with the attitude you've shown, you're going straight to my ignore list.

Tam, you are being snippish. I was trying to be nice and answer some questions; the link I provided is full of player updated information. The Wiki is a great source of information.

As far as Snow Globe, what I have to tell you is this: whenever a new issue comes out, I always look for Snow Globe's post on new badges. It always contains the most helpful information on what the new badges are and what needs to be done to achieve them. Insulting Snow Globe here in the Badge Forums is NOT going to make you any friends here, I can guarantee.

Snow Globe gave you a list of side specific badges, which you had asked for. If you used the Wiki, which I pointed you to, it would give you information on how to obtain any badges you don't have. Just because you don't want to put the effort in, does not make the information given invalid.

I find your lack of signature disturbing.

Didn't have to be you specifically... I'd have the same reaction to anyone who claims to be a badger and treats other badgers that way.

My favorite part about City of Heroes' badge community is how willing everyone is to help everybody else, and it burns me up when someone drops in and starts rudely demanding things and generally acts the way the OP has been acting.

Unless I am mistaken, the Edge of Chaos explore badge in Atlas should be on the Hero/Vigilante list. Whilst it may be flagged as available to rogues, they can't actually reach the thing.

You can actually reach it, just not solo. You need a teammate who can reach it, who also has Recall Friend. It has been verified that this workaround does work.

I am hoping to side-step the ruffled feathers and bring the spotlight on whether the Black Scorpion list answers the question without anyone getting mad.

For example, Trickster isn't on Black Scorpion's list. It is a Vigilante-only badge.

I see the list of Hero/Vigilante and Villain/Rogue badges, and thats great info.

What I'm looking for would be a list of badges that you can only get as a Hero, but that a Vigilante cannot get. If that list can be further detailed to list which ones can only be got while leveling up and/or being in a tutorial then great.

Like, isnt there an AE badge you can only get as a Hero but not as a Vigilante?

I want to plan out my badge-hunting, and so I'd like to know which badges I can get as a Hero but not as a Vigilante, other than the Day Job ones (where at least I can earn credit).

Thanks,

Lewis

Hero only: Heard the Call
Vigilante only: Fearsome
Villain only: Frenzied
Rogue only: Trickster

All the badges I just listed are for staying that alignment for 7 days. Other than those 4 badges, you don't have to be a specific alignment.

Come Full Circle and Ascended/Descended will be achieved when you are at the polar alignments (hero or villain), but you can't really miss them.

As far as AE badges are concerned, only Heroic or Villainous are alignment specific, Cunning & Walks the Line can be done with any alignment.
