Does anyone have a list of the tip missions that have Maelstrom as a defeatable character so that the Eye of the Storm badge is awarded?

IIRC, I saw him only in one hero tip mission that was called something like "Unstable triggers".

The only two I know of are "An Unstable Trigger," (Hero/Vigilante 40-50) and "Recruitment Flyer" (Hero/Vigilante 20-29). I know both versions of the former let you fight Maelstrom, and I think both versions of the latter do as well but I wouldn't swear to that.

I know I'm necroing this thread, but I do have something new to add. Just in case somebody searches for this down the road (like I was a few days ago when trying to find Maelstrom).

Maelstrom also appears in the Lv 40-50 villain alignment mission "A Hasty Text Message." This is available only to vigilantes who are doing villain missions.

I'm necroing this because I'm pretty fed up with it.

I've been grinding tip missions like it's my job and I STILL haven't seen any of the ones with Maelstrom. None!

Anyone have any advice?

Level 50 is a journey, not a destination.

Advice #1. Keep trying. There's no trick to it.
Advice #2. Don't necro threads.

You don't necessarily have to grind through the actual missions. Try dropping the tips and picking up new ones until you get the right missions. Then you wont have to wait for them to expire before trying again either.

Also, try asking in your server's badge channels if anybody has the mission already.

This, really. It's not too hard to get the mish, although you're still waiting on the tip drop through mob killing. If you're impatient, whack lowbies 20+ in bulk. If you want something more profitable, do missions at your skill level (at lvl 50, you'll get your chance drops at purple recipes, incarnate shards, etc).

And of course, Murphy's Law of Complaining ensured that within 24 hours of me making a post here, I got the "Unstable Trigger" tip and was able to finally fight Maelstrom and get my badge.

And of course, knowing how hard it was to get that mish to drop, you announced in your server's badge channel you were about to start it and invited other badgers in...

It's not difficult at all to get. If you are specifically going for this badge, keep dismissing your tips until you get it. I run a character daily right now doing his 5 tips/morality mission to get my HVAM and dismiss any tips that are too long for my "quick" needs. I normally have this tip queue up once/twice daily doing this. Now that I have the badge, I normally dismiss this tip because searching for that specific group of vampires is annoying.

Main Character: Ice/Storm/Ice Controller (Justice, 1340 badges)

For everyone but the OP, you seem to run into Maelstrom or Desdemona every 2nd or 3rd mission.

Well at 50 there are only 2 Villain Morality missions and one of them has you fighting Des.

My Other Selves gets boring after awhile. (Although I got a kick out of my Dom's Future self getting pwned by his own Singularity.)
