D'aww! No chance for this to be in the Ski Chalet/Pocket D so hardened villain-types can attend?
-
I'm on a full set of Blood Mandate. No problems here (bulk of the End use is Seeker Drones, which are flagged as damage, so the End Rdx works fine).
I'd not worry about the heal slotting, personally and as */FF I can ignore the +Def slotting (though a single +Def wouldn't be difficult to fit in, I just rely on my Nerve Radial Alpha Slot instead).
So MZ's Prot Bot Rule of Thumb would be "Little Def, Little End Rdx, the rest Acc and Dam" (which mirrors my old SO slotting of 2x Acc, 1x End Rdx, 3x Dam). -
I play a Bots/FF and run (when using my Radial Nerve Boost) at softcapped S/L once I have Force Shield from my Protector Bot on me. My build has a minimal amout of IO sets, so might be a good starter to work with (quite cheap, as far as I know, too).

As a Bots/FF I don't actually run a Tankermind build, and instead on EB's+ buff my robots with the individual shields. I've found them to be reasonably protected that way.
Now, the problem comes that not all MM's are Thermal/FF and those people on the team who buff usually ignore the pets. Perhaps an arrangement where all temporary buffs placed on the player are inherited by the henchmen could be sorted out.
I'm not sure what the solution is though - because if the devs go thwe wrong way with them, they'll (MM's) be overpowered. -
Quote:Interesting reading - I've not noticed this with the Protector Bot (who guzzles endurance for the Seeker Drone summons) since the power is flagged for damage sets.Yeah, I like the diversity of pet slotting, but it can be counter-intuitive at times until you learn all the nuances. I found my DS's life to be much easier after slotting a generic end reducer in both the prince and demons. The ember demon goes through end pretty quickly too thanks to his heals and ember shield.
After a bit more reading around on the topic, I've updated my guide with this information (under "Slotting: Invention Enhancement Sets") as it's something more people should be made aware of. -
I'm having similar issues due to the fact I've an EU account, but have now moved to the US. Plus, I have valid US and UK cards so there's probably a whole bunch of mismatch going on here!
I've got a case in with NCsoft but they're being quite slow to respond (despite an initial quick first response). -
Quote:It doesn't. As per ParagonWiki...Similarly, Mind Link cannot be slotted with generic RCH IO's, but DEF/RCH IO's affect recharge in that power.
What I don't know is if that effect applies to Alphas or not.
"The Alpha Slot Incarnate Boosts give their enhancement aspects to every power that a character has that can utilize it. For instance, if a character has a boost that reduces endurance costs, every power that takes endurance to use would be decreased (almost every single power a character has access to). If a character has a boost that increases Fear duration, Touch of Fear would be increased, but Power Bolt would not, since it does not have Fear. If a power cannot slot a certain enhancement (such as Recharge in Mind Link), the boost does not apply to that power."
See http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Alpha_Slot for more detail. -
-
No - it's a global Enhancement - imagine that there is an extra slot in all your powers that relates to the Boost you choose. If it can't be slotted for normally, imagine that slot is empty for the power!
-
Have a read of my guide, linked below, so you can see what other features exist for the Mastermind AT - you may learn something else new
-
I've gone for a Nerve Radial and a Musculature Core on my Bots/FF - one for soloing (extra damage) and one for teaming (extra defense).
I like to squeeze every little bit out of the (admittedly not optomised) build (see below) I have - and with a full set of Blood Mandate in the Protector Bots, the 20% Def is great for their Force Shield power.
I didn't even consider the Cardiac Boost, as with the adddition of Inherent Stamina, my endurance bar barely budges (except during initial summoning)

And while the link remains the same, I'd like to hustle some of you fine MM's over to my updated guide for feedback. So, come see MZ's Guide to the Modern Mastermind - A General MM Play Guide
-
It's lain fallow for a little bit, but I'd like everyone to cast their eyes over the new content and give me their thoughts - I have spurced up the guide to make it (almost) Issue 19 compliant. In essence, I still have the Alpha Boost section to write but everything else should now be "up to code".
Please let me know of any glaring omissions, or problems! Feedback is, of course, welcomed!
Edit: Please ignore the lack of formatting for now - this will be sorted in a later revision! -
Sounds like the perfect case for Team TP, only using it when the BRoD is impending - plus noone can complain if they're being pulled out of certain death, surely - just warn the team you'll be doing it.
I've prepped a second build with Team Teleport for this purpose (plus my wife is always nagging me about teleporting her toons around!) -
Details at ....

This. Only the Mu AoE immob has -KB (so the missiles/blasts won't knock mobs around like crazy. Personally, I just went for the +Def of Black Scorpion's shield - plus Power Boost allows you to drop some nice shields on allies for tough fights!
-
Alas, I wasn't paying attention tot he ingame interface and crafted Musculature Radial, when I want Core!
Back to the drawing board! (only two days of gaming to get where I am now, so no great shakes!) -
I took Sprint, Hurdle, Health and Stamina. I was a previously Stamina-less MM so these are certainly new to my build. Oh, in respec I also dropped Group Fly for Power Boost.
Once I get my Alpha Slot Boosts sorted, I can then start dropping some End Rdx for other enhancements and toys! -
After looking things over, and the addition of Stamina for free I'll be doing Nerve and Musculature. One run at the LGTF has already seen me craft the first Musculature Boost.

Thanks for the replies (and the guide recommendation) that did the trick for me. I'm sure I clicked on everyone in the room post-Marchand (including the Info Minister) but this time he gave me a mission chain.
Might have been that I was too low in the first instance to get him first time around (been street sweeping in the interim).
Back on track here - many thanks!
Regards,
MZ (or Demon Magician in Praetoria!) -
- Created a character
- Chose "Veteran" to skip Tutorial
- Performed initial mission (as Loyalist)
- Did a mission chain from Praetor White, until he stopped giving missions (last one was flowers for Cleo, as I recall)
- Chose Path of Power and was referred to Provost Marchand, who gave no missions
I'm now at L7 and with no active contacts. Is this a natural break in the contact progression for Praetoria or has something gone wrong? Hints/Tips? -
Quote:I use the "Report Post" function to request things for mods - because it goes to all of them (work well at STO Forums and used it over here as wellAny idea how I go about changing the thread title? It could do with being "The Unofficial EU/UK Birmingham Player Meet" or something seeing as it's now been organised... :S
)

Aye, I've given up on any reasonable level of service or community support for the EU side of things. I now just casually play CoX EU until either the servers are switched off or merged.
Not going to get a US-account due to the level of investment I have in my EU account/characters.
No offense to our US-cousins but since the Brighton office closed... it's been apalling this side of the Pond. -
In "the world" Giant Monsters have a hidden level that denote the powers they have access to (and sometimes loot dropped, like in Rikti raids) but the GM tag makes them scale on a per character fighting them basis.
I expect the level listed in the MA is actually superfluous, but I expect someone who has actual experience with them will be along shortly. -
All,
I've noted that one (or both) of my arcs have recently got some play (since I got AE Tickets out of nowhere) but I've had very little in the way of constructive feedback. This is probably due to the fact the players are US-side and hence feedback might not be reaching my EU-side account.
So, I'd like for a few people to rip my (first) mission to pieces! I want to get back to CoV and write more - but I need to get things down pat first.
So, some details...
Arc ID: 28817
Alignment: Villainous
Target Level: 15+
Title: Arachnos Research and Development: A Security Breach
The premise is based around my VG on Defiant - a R&D team within Arachnos that compete against Dr Aeon, reporting to Black Scorpion. It features a couple of custom groups - ARAD (a mix of standard Arachnos robots, and some custom scientists) and Robots (a mix of all robot NPC's found ingame).
Have a look, see if you enjoy the story - tell me what you don't like! I spruced it up a little yesterday so there shouldn't be any glaring problems, but you tell me
Regards,
MZ
